The music made me tingly.
I hope Jeremy Soule is doing the soundtrack.
Maybe it will become the first MMO with armors without ridiculously large shoulder pads?
what kind of mmo is that?
This is not being developed by Bethesda.
Which isn't exactly a good sign because I doubt a completely different company will manage to capture what is interesting about TES, especially if it involves a complete genre swap.
If it combat is all Hotkey Spam like World of Warcraft, This game is already rather fucked. Its a good idea (in my opinon anyway) to make a Elder Scrolls Online but it needs to be done in the correct fashion. It needs player skill based combat like say, War of the Roses or something, basicly like a Elder Scrolls game and not of the "Spam F1 and win" nonsense.
PLEASE BE GOOD oh god
Moo I am The Elder Scrolls
Hello Zenimax how are you doing
Wait what are you doing over there
Wait no get off of me stop don't touch me
NO STOP DON'T I DON'T WANT TO BE MILKED I HAVE A LEGITIMATELY GOOD LORE THAT SHOULDN'T BE CASHED IN ON WITH A 5-MINUTE MMO REHASH
I can't say I have any faith in this. TES doesn't fit an MMO very well at all, certainly not while retaining its iconic first-person brutal gameplay and its immersion.
I don't want this to fail or anything, but I think Bethesda will neatly step over it and keep on making excellent single-player RPGs.

new endgame boss nerevar moon and star
use a time portal created by the dragon wizard mordat to travel through time and kill him at red mountain
then you can go down to lorkhan's heart and get brand new raid gear (sunder and keening)
because evil dragons brought the heart back to life!!
If they somehow manage to make this a first person, drop/move/play with items MMO with a play similar to previous game I will jizz all over this room.
Sadly, it'll probably be a hotkey fest with lore sprinkled on it.

new race; starborn
they came from the sky or some shit they have squid heads and they like fighting
all in the latest elder scrolls expansion, demon space war
So your defense of it being like every other MMO is that it's like every other MMO.
Smooth.
yeah because then it's a unique fllower mmo xD!
[sp] fuck my life :v: [/sp]
but who knows, maybe they can do it right? I don't know, I haven't done an MMO in a long, long time. Used to play horizons.
[editline]4th May 2012[/editline]
really though it would've been far better off skyrim style or something.

They already announced that the game is going to have none of the usual TES gameplay mechanics.
Like I said before it's probably going to try too hard to be the next Ultima Online and fall flat on its face.
Man that guy sounds like Dumbledore.
Wouldn't it be awesome if they made a game exactly like Skyrim but with thousands of players on at the same time, crafting, trading, exchange, fights, companies, guilds and other ways for players to involve each other?

They'd be rich beyond all belief.

"too risky"
Well this is a neat-o teaser trailer, can't wait to see a bit of gameplay.
Man that guy sounds like Dumbledore.
It is. At least the Dumbledore since The Prisoner of Azkaban.

I don't know it actually sounds like it's not trying at all to be anywhere near new while Ultima Online had to basically do everything from scratch.

The best would probably be a combination of restricted coop in personal servers and open public servers, so you can choose between playing with a mass of people or just with a few friends.
from what ive read it seems to be like tor / wow (fully voiced, typical mmo rpg hotkey combat, third person, etc) but just with an elder scrolls theme. sad.
With a major difference.
An actual first person mode.
MMOs are boring. Hotkeyfests are a very, very uninteresting gameplay mechanic and I never managed to get into it.
They were interesting many years ago because the idea of so many people in one game was still cool and amazing.
Now it is just silly.
They really shouldn't have gone straight to making an MMO.
Should have started with baby steps, such as Coop or Multiplayer for Fallout or Skyrim. I'd think Coop could work well with Skyrim if it was basic, like player 2 taking over a companion or something.

That's true, I could see 2-4 player coop in Skyrim working quite well.
And nothing of value was shown.
eh...i would prefer a co-op tes game.
Bethesda announces the death of TES series.
The game has been in production for 5 years?
I give this game a chance. Bethesda hasn't really disappointed me a lot.

The thing is that this is developed by Zenimax Online, and not Bethesda, even if they do have the same mother company.
