and this is why i never took the bus until high school
Do you live very far away from your school in america? In Norway everyone walks to their school (There are no school buses except in the countryside where schools are far apart)

Can be pretty far, when I went to High School my bus ride averaged about 30 minutes.

I take the public bus for 2 (european) miles to school in town.
All the kids in my high school were always well behaved and thanked the bus driver as they got off.

To a European that's like saying "Oh, you know, my school is in Belgium but I live in West Germany."
Had a 20-minute ride to school every day. America's insanely spread out. There was a kid that lived about an hour away from my school.
You lucky Europeans and your 2 mile school transits.

As opposed to what, American miles?
As opposed to what, American miles?
the 10 km miles, not the 1.6 km mile or whatever it is
[editline]24th May 2013[/editline]
should have said metric I guess?
[editline]24th May 2013[/editline]
it takes about 25-40 mins depending on which route the bus takes
That driver must have had a powerful erection after crushing their dreams like that, I know I would have

Walking to my highschool would take me 1.5-2 hours; it takes 30mins on the bus. Like a previous poster said, America is very spread out where private (or public) transportation is almost a necessity.

They're not miles, they are called kilometres.
It takes my bus like twenty minutes to get to my school, but then again I live in a little country village and we normally don't go on a single main road.

Also Jesus Christ, this makes my bus look wonderful.
did you never drive to school in a school bus?
All the cool kids sat in the back of our bus. We all played Dollar Flip and once in awhile smoked weed. Middle of the bus were the semi popular kids, while the front was for the losers.

The "european mile" (mil) is only used in Sweden, Norway and Finland. It's not a standardized measurement of length.

Aah, thanks, well, that then.
[editline]24th May 2013[/editline]
The Scandinavian Mile that is 10 kilometres.

I've never ever heard anyone use that term.
Also I never went on a school bus, but I bet it was EXACTLY like this. Some people lived closer to school than me and used the bus. I walked or cycled to school, during winter too.
jesus christ im jumping on the "i hate kids" boat right now
I've hated kids since I was born, it appears this generation of kids are getting worse each year, even tho I was born in this generation (13).
