My friends and I was always debating on whether the previous Watch Dogs announcement trailer had any CGI enhancements that weren't exactly gameplay, now we know why we thought that.
the scene was obviously scripted for trailer purposes but all the features like making the barriers spring up, hacking the bank details then cashing in at the atm, fucking with the train i believe can't be scripted and are stuff you can do to help you in missions or test with them
But if this has a sandbox element to it i can see myself playing this for a long time, hopefully the map is pretty big and isnt just constrained to city life
that is fucking mind-blowing.
what an amazing mechanic. hopefully it'll live up to the trailer.

The train could have been scripted, but it still shows that if you manage to climb a building next to a railway, a train might come by and you can just ride it out.
This game looks great
I just can't help but feel it'll look nothing like that when it's released.
While this looks good and all I am not sure they will manage to get on rockstar games kind of levels. I mean rockstar has been doing gta games for years.
This will probably turn out like a modern day assassins creed.
Huh, Slenderman is in this video. Did anyone else notice him?
It was definitely scripted to make it more exciting. Hopefully it is representative of how the game will actually play but I don't imagine a smooth escape like that will happen on the fly for most people very often.

Thank god
I got a PS3 for christmas and this is one of many games I want to buy for it and given the soon-to-be release of the PS4 I'm increasingly worried a lot of titles won't come out for the PS3 anymore.

before anyone asks, 3:42, graffiti on the wall

I'd love to see more or this stuff, little references and in jokes scattered about. Like they had in Deus Ex: HR, the smileys on the paint cans and the dopefish graffiti
I'm pretty sure everyone that watched the part when he shot out a wheel on the cop car expected the car to crash spectacularly or barrel roll.
Pleasantly surprised by the car physics

There is another one next to the area where the woman gets attacked.
Looks like a stellar game to play, Ubisoft is on a roll.
Well my PC looks about out of date now.
It would be pretty awesome to see something like this get support on Linux, I mean it would attract a large amount of linux gamers? Anyone else agree?

That's one legitimatelynasal voice.

this game won't even touch linux or mac in general, sorry to say but windows is still in triple A eyes, one day my friend

I fully expected it to slide into a triple barrel roll and into a wall exploding
Nope, slowly drifted into a barrier, they didn't even look at the damage to show us if cars get deformed in a cool way
So was the previous trailer also on the PS4 and they just said it was on the PS3?
So was the previous trailer also on the PS4 and they just said it was on the PS3?
Both trailers were rendered on PC. Yesterday's was rendered on one with "specs similar to the PS4's"

Ok, but then was the old trailer rendered on a PC with PS3 specs?
Ok, but then was the old trailer rendered on a PC with PS3 specs?
No, it was just on PC, they never said the old gameplay video was on PS3
I really hope that this isn't just scripted for the trailers. It looks amazing, but I can't help but feel like the game might not actually be that good.
This is the major vibe I'm getting from this demo.
I'm just wondering how you'd manage to do half the stuff that's happening in the demo with the Dualshock controller.
I think quite a bit was spawned during the demo so they could be sure to show off key elements:
- NPC-to-be-robbed
- side quest couple
- first police car to be disabled via hacking
- second police car to be disabled via taking out a tire
- convenient escape train
That said, I don't think Watch_Dogs has such unbelievably advanced gameplay that you couldn't have all of this happen to you ingame. They just wanted to make sure everything would happen these ways here so that a) they can definitely show off some new stuff and b) the player wouldn't screw up or get stuck or whatever.
Does the little battery bar at the bottom right of the HUD mean that players will need to charge their phone's batteries every now and then?
>hacking is our weapon
Does the little battery bar at the bottom right of the HUD mean that players will need to charge their phone's batteries every now and then?
Its probably a timer for abilities since it goes down everytime you hack something
When it says "criminal neutralized" the sound effect it plays is one of the drone sounds from FTL.
Odd that I noticed it but hey, the more you know!

Probably "ammo" for most hacking abilities. Seems to regenerate. Otherwise you could just drive down a road and set all traffic lights ever to red and and crash every cops' navi as much as you want.
