Yep, battery is cooldown. It would be kind of OP to just disable everything every nanosecond.
I'm picking at straws here, but the hacking is way too easy. I'd like to actually fucking do something.

Yeah, hacking minigame in the middle of a chase sequence doesn't sound pace-breaking at all.
Yeah, hacking minigame in the middle of a chase sequence doesn't sound pace-breaking at all.
and having to manually hack into the a unified system every time you want to manipulate an object kinda doesn't make sense.

That isn't what I mean. I don't want a minigame but I also don't want to "hack" at a click of a button. I know this is set in the future, but really?

well then what do you want, specifically?
Holy crap.
The car physics feel almost hollywood acton-esque.
The shit you can do to get away...
This game looks unbelievable. I'm so fucking pumped.

The games core mechanic is the hacking. You're probably going to do it at least once every minute. Any more than instant hacking would get boring and repetitive fast.
well then what do you want, specifically?
something that doesn't make it piss-easy like holding down one single button
I would be fine with a quick time event, like you have to press a number of keys in a random order

that's true. but for some "harder" hacking like putting up those traffic-obstructions should be harder/have a higher risk imo
The car physics look somewhat decent, It's good to see that instead of doing a triple-exploding barrel roll, the police car just casually skidded to the left.

Who or What took the camera over, was it another player ( kind of like Dark Souls) or was it jus the police/law enforcement in this game?
Also if those cops weren't wearing their seat belts, yeah they might be kinda dead.

In case you guys didn't know, in the 1st trailer they revealed that the game will focus largely on multiplayer. IIRC, there will be plenty of other hackers in the game who are controlled by other players. You will have to do things like team up with them, you might even have a contract on one of them.

Which means the camera was taken by another player, who attempted to hack the first one's device, which is probably a way of "killing" another player.
Goddamn its like Uplink, but with guns and chasing people too.
And as for the "turbo easy hacking", its not just hitting a button, you have to look AT the thing you're hacking and then hit the button. You can't just walk down the street and hit it and have some dudes coffee explode.

Then my point still stands, the minigame would break the flow. Doesn't matter if it's BioShock Pipe Dream or "press this sequence of keys". Even BioShock's 2 much simpler hacking minigame didn't really lend itself to being used on the run while chasing some guy and potentially looking out for cops or environmental hazards like the box the guy shot on the run.
Just consider how much you hack in this game and how much time you'd spend playing "type these numbers".

I don't remember anything about it being a large focus, but drop in-/drop out multiplayer was shown at the end. It was shown here at the end as well with the Intruder Pixxel15 cameras. Maybe one guy can play pierce and the other can hack into his game to play a bit AI Director? Would make sense with the WiiU. Might be a bit too crazy tho.

It could have at least disabled his powers for long enough to get the jump on him. Unless Pierce suddenly pulls a shotgun out of his trenchcoat, he's pretty fucked without his magic phone.
well then what do you want, specifically?
I don't know. Like I said, I'm picking at straws. The game looks amazing other than that.

You're probably right. Either disable his phone for a bit while it reboots or screwing it over some other way, anything to make the target vulnerable. He does still have his sidearm and a baton though...
My fingers are crossed: I really hope this game meets up to my expectations. Even though so much of the game has yet to be revealed, my imagination is going wild.
Anyone tried the ctOS page? :v:

here's to hoping you can get positive reputation for hacking a CEO's bank account and giving the money to some hobo
robin hood style, yeah
And to think this is one of the first next gen games too. I mean look at the games that first came out on PS3 or xbox and compare them to games on same consoles now. I wonder what will people be able to do with these bad boys by the end of the next gen cycle.

ugh I really hope I can just play singleplayer or only with friends
if this throws you into servers with random people it'll run the experience IMO

Have I mentioned how much I love that extending baton yet? Really awesome weapon.

IMO that's what adds to the experience, you'll have no idea when or where you'll have another player on your back, which could lead to some intense situations.

Ditto. If I'm playing in a world that's supposedly under such surveillance data whatever control then I'd actually feel more immersed if there were other people who knew how to handle the high tech fancy hacking stuff not just the one guy in the entire world.
Time to start building a PC for the next generation.
Damn seeing that makes me wish GTA V was on the next-gen systems. Even though GTA V looks amazing just imagining what they could do on the next-gen systems blows my mind.

Well in theory that's exactly the point. The other player isn't called a "player" in either of the two trailers. He's called an Intruder. He's trying to hijack your game and you want him not to invade your privacy.
Of course, this artsy meta stuff still has to answer the question of "does it make the game more fun/interesting?". I'll reserve my judgment until Ubi gives us details, but I think I'd like it to give it a try in free roam whereas I'd like to take the game at my own pace during story missions. I imagine it like playing Assassin's Creed and suddenly a little warning buzz informs you one of the nearby NPCs is actually a player. OH. SHIT!
