Also I feel the need to post this again, now that the trailer is fully out. [t]http://i.imgur.com/gHYQLqR.png[/t]
They are certainly being dicks (even though the graphics do look pretty bad), but I don't see why this is relevant.
Good god this puts the new CoD to shame.
"What's the best possible music to represent a conflict that took place in 1914-1918?" "Dubstep!"
I'm sold on the concept. I hope there's some kind of game mode centered around the zeppelins. Super unfitting music, though.
so I don't know much about ww1 is this ww1 or steam punk ww1 ?
"What's the best possible music to represent a conflict that took place in 1914-1918?" "Dubstep!"
Sounds a bit electric? Must be dubstep!
Sounds a bit electric? Must be dubstep!
Fine then. Electric weirdo remix music that doesn't fucking fit.
Music aside, and speaking as a long time CoD player, I'm moist, and chances are I'm gonna buy this Fuck I'm glad WW1 is getting some AAA recognition
so I don't know much about ww1 is this ww1 or steam punk ww1 ?
Looks like it's just regular WWI with maybe some twists on certain things for better gameplay.

Turkish Mausers or it's a bad game
They are certainly being dicks (even though the graphics do look pretty bad), but I don't see why this is relevant.
It's nothing new. Ever since Bad Company 2 there's been a pissing contest between the two companies. Funny how they're both at opposite ends of the spectrum now with their new games
I wish they used either the OG version of Seven Nation Army or used a new version of the Battlefield theme that's devoid of electronic sounds but doesn't sound exactly like the 1942 version.
battlepacks are back shit
It's a shitty practice but it's here to stay unfortunately
thank god they went back in time, i'm sick and tired of future/near future stuff
For anyone wondering what the robot-man is, it's some dude with some trench armour and a sniper-mask. [t]http://i1122.photobucket.com/albums/l539/senajko/SniperMask.jpg[/t]
"What's the best possible music to represent a conflict that took place in 1914-1918?" "Dubstep!"
Even "ride of the valkyrie" would be more fitting, even though it was orchestrated half a century before ww1, and is also a bit overrated. [editline]wait[/editline]
battlepacks are back
Aaannd dropped....
I wish they choose a better song ONE THAT FITS THE FUCKING PERIOD
I personally didn't really enjoy BF3 (never tried 4 or Hardline) but I might actually give this one a shot
This 10x better than what I was actually expecting
i'm so tired of Glitch Mob being used in trailers
Fine then. Electric weirdo remix music that doesn't fucking fit.
What are you, 80? That is the equivalent of calling metal 'rock emo remix'. Regardless I do agree, they dropped the ball on the music. There were much more fitting genres they could have picked to make it just as epic sounding.
I wish they choose a better song ONE THAT FITS THE FUCKING PERIOD
Unless you want to go with something orchestral or re-record a track from that era, there really is no song from that time period that would work well in an action-y trailer like this.
I wish they choose a better song ONE THAT FITS THE FUCKING PERIOD
The only song that matters:
Looks like it's just regular WWI with maybe some twists on certain things for better gameplay.
I haven't seen anything that would suggest twists. Got any specifics? I'm curious.
Lol the music in this trailer managed to be worse than that Space Oddity remix in the IW one.
I love that call of duty and battlefield are now going in completely different directions in time.
Can't wait how CoD goes for WW2 next and be like "HA! We totally stole Battlefield's idea for their next game's setting!" and then Battlefield pulls an Arthurian legend with magic and shit.
I guess all that Final Stand shit in Battlefield 4 was just a massive tease.
Can't wait how CoD goes for WW2 next and be like "HA!
It's to maximize audience attention across their entire age demographic. Nobody is going to give a shit if it's some 20th century orchestra or some old as fuck song from an artist that died 70 years ago playing at gramophone-quality. That may have worked for Fallout 3, because it had the settings practically tailored for that, but Battlefield is a modern up-beat fast-paced multiplayer-focused game and the song they used was used perfectly. It's not a good song by itself, but it fit the trailer nicely. It doesn't have to fit the theme or setting.
While I understand why they did it, and that old-timey music as you say wouldn't work as well, I still think they could have picked a more fitting genre without alienating the demographic.
What was wrong with the orchestral theme of 1942/3? Why couldn't they just do that instead???
