I personally didn't really enjoy BF3 (never tried 4 or Hardline) but I might actually give this one a shot
4 is basically what 3 should have been in the first place. It's really weird, 3 may as well not have existed
What was wrong with the orchestral theme of 1942/3?
Why couldn't they just do that instead???
Sounds pretty awesome

Even Desert Combat & Battlefield 2 had orchestral theme, and it was fitting.
They all set the "shit's serious and about to go down" theme in a timeless way.
4 is basically what 3 should have been in the first place. It's really weird, 3 may as well not have existed
I found myself enjoying 3 more than 4, but I blame that on being burnt out on AAA shooters.
Comparing the two, the big advantage 4 has over 3 is the fact that it's colors aren't totally removed.
Battlefield 3 was really bleak and lifeless in terms of color, everything felt like it had the brightness sucked out of it. Battlefield 4 brought that color back in and the environments actually felt like they changed from map-to-map
yeah the music sucks but if that is what we are complaining about out of this trailer, that's a good thing

Oh shit anti-tank rifles!
I hope you can't fire it standing up without taking damage. Wouldn't that be funny
I mean yeah the trailer looks fucking amazing
But the one thing DICE do fucking amazingly right is trailers, like hardline + battlefront (two games which trailers i thoroughly enjoyed but i disliked the games)
So i'm going to remain skeptical

Makes absolutely no sense being in the desert and in the hands of a brit but historical accuracy never has been one of dice's fortes.
Plus they gotta balance it somehow.
http://www.battlefield.com/buy/battlefield-1
battlepacks are back shit
You do realize that battlepacks have literally no influence on gameplay right
In BF4 you can get every item battlepacks have except purely aesthetic knife skins, emblem shapes, and camos, and you get battlepacks for leveling up anyway.

I like it.

It's indicative of DICE's development style. They make a game then for the direct sequel they iterate on what worked while adding stuff to keep it fresh
1942 > Vietnam, BF2 > 2142, BC1 > BC2, BF3 > BF4.
WWI. Cool, though for some reason I'm not feeling it except for the armored guy with the minigun. I don't know, maybe it's because I'm a scifi dude and eager for that space battle in IW. I'll probably rent it with Redbox when it comes out.
To be fair, it's not like there has been a Battlefield 1 or "Battlefield". The first one was Battlefield 1942, and hell Battlefield 2 was the 3rd main game in the series.
I always assumed the "2" in BF2 was meant to be short for Battlefield 2000. I mean, it does make sense...(the 2000 being the year)
The Wake Island map is based in the year 2007 for example. The game came out in 2004 lololol

But EA's already got that coming in Titanfall 2. No sense competing with itself. Having this as a breather from modern/future stuff is kinda nice.
Aw shit son, this looks sick, looks like you have to manually put on your gas mask when the chemical weapons start getting tossed around

Oh, yeah I forgot. Mechs with swords! I just hope multiplayer doesn't die in this one.

honestly, i care about balance a hell of a lot more than historical accuracy.
I hope that we get a sort of "Titan Mode" centered around the zepplins.
[sp]I also hope we get a good campaign for a game this pretty.[/sp]
End of the line music was such a poor choice......
While I understand why they did it, and that old-timey music as you say wouldn't work as well, I still think they could have picked a more fitting genre without alienating the demographic.
They could have used Sabaton for the trailer

Missed opportunity right here.
are gonna get some trench warfare or are we gonna have alot of people just bhopping all over the place dodging bullets. I've always found bhopping in BF to be so ridiculous

Not something I'd have chosen in this particular instance, but anything from Sabaton in general is certainly a MUCH better fit than what they went with.
christ i thought people flying into an autistic rage at any music sounding remotely like dubstep was in the past
A nice trailer, which somehow managed to get me interested in a battlefield game for once. Interesting how older time periods are suddenly feeling fresh again.
I like the choice of music due to the interesting contrast it creates with the imagery - something which most people would normally associate with an 'epic' orchestra score; it feels surprising - but fresh. It's as if the game is going back to it's roots, while still keeping ties with it's more modern iterations. But err, that's just my two cents as someone who was once an art student. :pudge:
I liked the music, fits with the trailer. Actual music from the period wouldn't really work.

Like I said in another thread I really like what they did with it to make it match up with the video. For example the horse steps being in sync with the starting beats and the screechy part of the track being used as ear ringing at the part with the man holding his ears.
Lots of people bitching about the music and it always seems to happen if it isn't in their taste but in my opinion they really made it work here and there could have been far worse fits.
Woodkid would have worked great for this trailer
Haven't been hyped for a BF game in a long time.
I wonder if they'll manage to capture just how fucked up the tunneling is.
