Well yeah, like I said, 90% empty space unless that cross-section spans the entire length.
Ofc I wouldn't be opposed to such a gamemode though.
ed: you changed the picture you shit
Still, the point of getting inside the Titan in 2142 is to destroy its core from within. Zepplins are probably equally vulnerable from the outside as they couldn't have enough armour plating to be worth anything and still take off. That and they don't have like internal fusion reactors or whatever.
At first they seemed indestructible since regular bullets didn't do much.
But Zeppelins, specifically German ones, used Hydrogen, and if you remember the Hidenburg, then all you need is to launch something that can ignite, or have a Bi-Plane with Tracer rounds to ignite the Hydrogen, turning the Zeppelin into a falling metal skeleton.

Well, they do have giant bags of hydrogen on the inside, that outta work to blow them up from the inside right?

this scene in the trailer reminded me of a scene in battlefield 1942's intro

too bad it lasted for 0.2 seconds. I wanted to stare at some battleships :(

Oh and that looks like it could be the HMS Warspite, for any RN patriot out there
Everyone in the SH thread was saying it was going to be some futuristic game because of the marketing ploy. It was obvious that it was going to be WW2/Vietnam/Similar based on what their IG and Twitter was releasing.
Then someone went through the Origin stuff
I hate dubstep/electronica but the music gets me hype as fuck for the game
I wold love to fly in a Zeppelin
I'm concerned this will sound dumb but surely the "two teams" have to be Britain and Germany and not America... I mean this is based at the height of the Empire, They can't not take advantage of the potential variety, like the Gurkhas for example! Also Battlefield 1 is a stupid name but it's a good kind of stupid.

You don't need to worry about that. They have already mentioned this game is going to be set in various different fronts, while USA were only directly involved in the western front.
What other Battlefield settings could there be in the future?
I'm still wanting a grand scale fantasy battlefield
Looks great, but I really wanted 2143 and the titan mode to return, apparently it's missing from this game.
Kinda bummed out after so much 2143 teasing in BF3/4. Maybe in 5 years, oh well.
I actually like how it's World War I this time and not World War II. It's something a bit different, as usually most games prior used to focus on WWII and Nazi Germany. Most notably, Call of Duty 1 & 2. This will be very interesting to say the least.
Nice.
Guess the rumors were true.
Music sucked dick, I would have hoped a war set in the early 1900's would have a good orchestral piece for it's trailers, not wub wub but still.
So much potential. Experimental weapons all over the place, tons of variety for maps, a completely unexplored time period. Zeppelins, Bi-Planes, BATTLESHIPS.
Color me hyped.

If there's not any Blackadder easter eggs then for shame.

Yeah, if only they had played some classics from that era, that would have really nailed the vibe of the trailer!

horses will be an interesting add into the game but i can just see them being shot the second they're spotted
so idk how dice will go about strengthening horses without making it seem like they're cyborgs

It could be mostly a transport with some limited combat ability for some fun when the opportunity presents itself. It's not like cavalry had much success in fighting in WW1, but they were still heavily used for other roles.

well if we go by bf3 and 4, some vehicles like quadbikes and even motorbikes later on were 2 manned vehicles with the passenger being the gunner
i see horses replacing those vehicles but the problem with horses is that they're live creatures, so they can't be something an engineer can repair with their repair tool and a bullet shot will impair them greatly
horses will also be weak, a vehicle that could be rendered useless once a sniper spots leaving whoever was riding on it fearful that they need to run quickly to avoid being shot as well
quadbikes and motorbikes never had that problem, everyone was occupied on shooting the driver/passenger and not the car itself, it'll be the other way around now

If they make those early SMGs and rifles somewhat realistic you wont be shooting them on short range with autofire and you'll need a skilled shooter at long range to compensate for their speed etc.

Yeah that's a good point. They could make the cavalry very bullet spongy, but i hope they do not do that. There could simply be more cavalry available so that you have opportunities to have a full squad with cavalry, that way the sheer number of them would make it more survivable.

Would bet on horses being a sp only thing.
I want this guy as a playable character

You know why it's called Battlefield 1? Because Call of Duty lost

Idk man, both games look interesting in their own way from early trailers. Emphasis on "early".
We don't know how they'll play just yet.

it was a joke.
or maybe it wasn't, who knows?
Looks like a lot of people are heralding the end of COD like both games have already come out and reviews indicate that this is a better game.
I suppose it's want people wanted, in the end.
i am so fucking ready for the return of 20th century-set shooters

Was I the only one who enjoyed the music? I wouldn't argue that it fits the game setting, but it fit the editing style of the video for a first peak and got me excited.
I'm gonna bet that they plan on doing a 2143 eventually, just not right now.
Well I expect that much, but they seemed to ignore the game completely on stream, not mentioning it at all, it hurt bad, what if we never get to jump of exploding titans again :s:

Im pretty sure that was just to save time, and EA likely told them to advertise Hardline or something. No need to feel like that imo, its probably just a few years down the line.

Actually no funny enough, they did make use of the interior space for crew quarters and utilities.
As others have pointed out, that's the interior of a passenger zeppelin. Hindenburg for example had a lounge with a specially-designed aluminum piano (the first ever to be featured aboard a passenger aircraft), and it even had a smoking room with special electric lighters installed so as not to cause fires (since airships at the time used hydrogen, which is very dangerous of course; the United States however actually stockpiled helium for a long time to use for their airship program because it's safer than hydrogen, but anyway)-- along with a variety of other luxuries to accommodate its passengers.

Hindenburg's Smoking Room
The British R100 airship actually had a grand staircase.
Link
The militarized zeppelins the Germans used during the First World War, before the time of either the Hindenburg or the R100 (or the Graf Zeppelin, another famous one), were far more basic. They were built to be weapons of course, not for the transportation of passengers in luxury and comfort. The gondolas were simplistic, to say the least.
[t]http://www.military-history.org/wp-content/uploads/2013/06/Zepp-control-gondola-recon.gif[/t]
[t]https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/1/1b/Maschinengondel_eines_Zeppelin-Luftschiffes_-_Felix_Schwormst%C3%A4dt_1917.jpg[/t]
Some parts were enclosed with windows, some parts were left partially enclosed and yet had spots (like ports for machine guns) that were left open, others had parts that were totally open (the first zeppelins built in the early days for the military were like this). So depending upon where you were, you might be exposed in some way or another to the elements or maybe not. Either way, it was cold and miserable; with service ceilings by 1917 of up to 21,000 feet (officially), altitude sickness was actually a big issue for crews-- especially when they were frantically climbing to get away from Allied aircraft. And if you were unlucky enough to be stuck with the engines, not only were you freezing your ass off and starved of oxygen, but you also had to contend with the noise of the engines themselves and the stink of oil and exhaust fumes.
Here's a good documentary on the matter if anyone is interested (from PBS):

Sure, but I see a lot of hatred towards the new COD game and I'm actually not entirely sure why, in my opinion it's going in an interesting direction. (And so is battelfield)
