Someone should do a really unfitting mashup using the Battlefield Heroes whistling theme.:v:
Made a video but it was blocked, lemme upload it somewhere else.
I did my best.
EA already blocked it.
I did my best.
God damn, that got taken down immediately.
I've actually never played Battlefield before. Is it a series worth getting into?
I've actually never played Battlefield before. I wouldn't at this point try getting into one of the other BF games.
Its a lazy and dumb """"joke""""
I like that joke, fight me
Someone should do a really unfitting mashup using the Battlefield Heroes whistling theme.:v:
Okay, let's try this one more time.
While this looks pretty cool it's not really gonna be WW1, is it? Just a typical modern BF game with a palette swap? I'm down with that considering Trench Warfare 1 probably wouldn't be very fun, but I can't imagine this being WW1 in any way beyond the visuals. Feel free to correct me on that.
I really do hope this will incorporate elements of the levolution gimmick from BF4. On some maps it was utter piss, but on others it really was a cool mechanic, primarily the weather altering ones. I could see massive sandstorms sweeping across north africa really altering gameplay, storms at sea mixing up naval combat and deluges flooding trenches on the western front shaking up gameplay.

Both armies got very good at taking enemy lines, but not holding them, which is why on the grand tactics scale it was a stalemate on the western front. During battles though, it wasn't really all that different from other wars (especially WW2) in which it is was conducted on the Platoon/Squad level (well 1915 on). Check out the second episode of "Our World War" to get a sense for what I mean, it follows a member of the Manchester Pals, and shows an aspect of the Somme a lot of people wouldn't know about (hint they're taking attempting to capture a wood, and its literally like any other modern war)
Okay, let's try this one more time.
This is good.
Okay, let's try this one more time.
A little cheery for grainy, gritty, hardcore WWI visuals don't you think? :v:.
I think the last part of Woodkid's Land of All where the instruments kick in harder would have been perfect for an intense combat filled trailer without any instruments sounding too digital and out of place. 3:19 and onward.
god why didnt they use fitting music like ragtime tunes or something
shit doesn't sell. I'd prefer what I posted, music that sounds combaty, but doesn't have a specific era attached to it (usually percussion instruments without very much digital altering.)
I guess music is the only topic we can talk about since we won't be seeing anything until E3. E3's gonna be interesting, more details on Dishonored 2, Battlefield 1, The future of Fallout 4, and god knows what else.
at first i was a bit on the fence but i'm growing increasingly convinced that this is gonna be fucking awesome as fuck there's just something about the entire ww1 era that makes even the most realistic depiction of the war feel like some weird-ass retrofuturistic alternate history [editline]8th May 2016[/editline]
I think the last part of Woodkid's Land of All where the instruments kick in harder would have been perfect for an intense combat filled trailer without any instruments sounding too digital and out of place. The crushingly bassy Seven Nation Army remix they used fit the trailer fine. Jack White's vocals are where it falters, I think - pure instrumental would've been better. I particularly appreciated matching the screechy bit with the shell-shocked artilleryman (from an artistic point of view)

It has similar screeches, but at least it doesn't sound too digital like the 7 nation army remix..

Considering Battlefield is a triple-A franchise I'm not surprised they picked a more mainstream style. I don't even care for SNA and I enjoyed the trailer with it.
Someone should do a really unfitting mashup using the Battlefield Heroes whistling theme.:v:
EDIT: EA KILLED IT
That was blocked literally the instant you uploaded it, holy shit.
