no
Here's the thing about Saddam's forces. They were led by a dictator, and were fighting for a man. A lot of their tactics were simplistic, almost Soviet style tank rushes and human waves. ISIS has a different way of fighting. They act like insurgent forces but perform like a military. They will force the US into urban fighting. They are also fighting for God. You can kill a dictator, you can't kill someone's faith.
I'm mostly fascinated by how organised the Kurd's actually are, I thought they were a lot more ragtag than this
I'm mostly fascinated by how organised the Kurd's actually are, I thought they were a lot more ragtag than this
Nope. There's a Vice video where they're actually interviewing Peshmerga fighters, and they look like any other military force.
The kurds are just like any religious-nationalist group in the middle east except they fit into a neat sovereign space, unlike sunni and shia muslims, so starting some weird internet kurdish bandwagon is going to be a great icing on top of the already retarded coverage of the middle east [editline]20th June 2014[/editline] cake
Iraqi Kurdistan is pretty damn decent compared to the rest of our "allies" in the Middle East They don't follow Sharia Law, have a democratic government, and is fairly diverse in terms of religion and ethnicity They are a bit behind the times in gender/sexual equality, but they're trying at least. Still miles ahead of its neighbors. It does have its downsides (corruption), but it's in a very awkward position being an autonomous region If they ever become a sovereign state, we just have to keep check of Kurdification so it doesn't become Israel 2.0

the title should be more like "kirkuk kurdish special forces shoot the shit out of a building"
You make a very valid point
Now it does seem like I said "THESE ARE THE MOST TACTICAL AND ELITE FIGHTERS EVR", didn't mean to make it like that v:v:v However, they aren't the usual goat herding tribesmen that we've been dealing with for the past few years. These guys are a different beast.
America spent literally trillions of dollars in Iraq and this is what they got.
So far the Kurds have refused all requests to help deal with the ISIS. The ISIS is the best thing that has happened to the Kurds and they're taking full advantage of that.
Kurds aren't going to go out of their way to go across the entire country like Iraq is asking them. If its near their turf, they'll deal with it but they're not going to leave their place undefended and go and capture fucking Fallujah like the Iraq government wanted.
Kurds+Jews+Iranians = Middle East Defense Force, never a single terrorist again.
ISIS getting BTFO. Kurds are one of the few respectable groups in that region, and they're essentially fighting for their lives. But damn, they take everything they can get, and put all the equipment and training to good use. These are the same people that would smuggle televisions into Afghanistan when they were banned by the Taliban.
3:16 to 3:40 reminded me of that 1 scene at the beginning of equilibrium
when has the phrase "suck it down you fucking savages" NOT been used in a creep context. like don't get me wrong isis are some hideously evil motherfuckers and they unarguably need to be stopped somehow but that doesn't mean you get a free pass for acting like a psycho and getting off on this shit [editline]20th June[/editline] keep in mind this is the same guy who thought footage of people being killed in Syria was funny
arent you like nodachi's best friend?
arent you like nodachi's best friend?
Who cares if he is?
Who cares if he is? He's right. I don't like posts with that kind of tone. Everybody's read the articles and knows how bad the isisis. Everyone agrees something should be done about that. All the post says is that you can think up a real horrific punishment for them. Let's say I go into a thread about a guy who threw acid in his daughter's face or something. Sure, it's disgusting that that happened and so you'll get a few posts which just say "it's disgusting," but once that's done with, it's onto what should happen to the guy. "Life in prison," they say. "Give him the chair," they escalate. "I hope he rots in hell." "Deglove his penis and claw his eyes out." I think the ISIS threads here are kinda like that. Everyone's trying to think up something worse for them. Maybe we're being too enthusiastic about this. Maybe things will get much worse when the ISISis gone.
lol
So deep into hippy level naivety over the world that you're embracing ISIS. Think about that.
Alright yeah it's sounding pretty ridiculous now.
ISIS are not poorly trained, they have been fighting pretty convincingly in Syria for the past 2 years. They are a serious threat and people should respect that.
ISIS like most armed groups/militaries have a bulk force of grunts who are of average to below average training and experience level. Then they also have an elite cadre that coordinates and conducts spearhead offensives. A portion of this cadre is long time veteran Chechens who actually know what they are doing and do it well.
Those Kurdish forces immediately remind me of Israel's military. It's crazy how the US can supply them with training and weaponry to the point where they are just about on par with our own special forces. ISIS is not well trained even slightly. They're a rag tag group of people who lack honor and use brutality to strive for a foothold on any region they can get their hands on. If the US or any other NATO military came face to face with them, we'd wipe the floor with them just like we do with Al Qaeda. It'd be most pleasing if the US intervened to the slightest point, AKA calling down airstrikes on all of the equipment they fucking stole from us.
Wait, what? Last time I checked, ISIS had basically cut a deal with the Kurds to leave them alone and let them have their autonomy. Are they actively fighting now?
If anyone else has videos of these dogs getting fucked up, please post them

Yay ISIS getting fucked, beautiful. If it's true that Chechen Special Forces have been spotted fighting for ISIS....good fucking luck if you run into these guys
Kurdistan would be a great medium in the region. Not only would it prove a great ally in the Middle East, but it would be a perfect country to open up diplomatic talks with Iran and such, as a Kurdistan formed from this war would be the bastard child of Iran and USA.
