I have to agree and disagree too. You're aware athletes do all kinds of workouts with their coaches. That's where most mass comes from. And from greater mass you can develop greater strength, as long as you build up mass properly on all the muscle length (there are some people doing half movements thus ending up with bloated small round muscles)

I've seen how Chen Yibing trains. He is pretty big and only uses his own mass
