How does NK even survive?
I think NK is bluffing a bit when it comes to their military powers. How can a country even afford to construct weapons of mass destruction when it can't even feed it's own people? I think they have nuclear weapons, but maybe from the 50's.
They don't survive, they rely on China for food aid and resources.

Best Korea.

Oh god I love the reporter.
"But I believe he's dead."
[editline]07:31PM[/editline]
What a bitch.
I mean sure, she's exposing their lies but she's really funking blunt. She could have at least tried to mask her remarks more.
They don't really understand her so she can pretty much get away with anything.
She probably knew that and got a little bit cheeky.
Wow that's insane, I feel so sorry for those poor people living in poverty.
Yeah, quite horrible.
Heck those planes on the indoor playground look like MiGs
I'm surprised that the U.S doesn't organize an assassination of high ranking NKorean government officials.
I would make sense to invade North Korea, liberate the people there and let the south take over when everything is stable...like Afghanistan but there would actually be a valid reason behind it all.
[editline]12:21PM[/editline]
and I bet Osama Bin Laden could run NK better than kim jong il
It seems like such an injustice, basically trapping all those people in the country and not giving them the adequate resources they need to live a comfortable life. Fuck you, North Korea.
I love these kinds of documentaries, but the Vice Guide is still "better".
I'll give the NK officials credit with keeping there cool with that lady. I'm surprised they didn't kick her out right away.
I laughed at when she said "On the way here I saw a lot of other villages not as neat and tidy, can we visit them?
NK officials :geno:

Yeah, I don't think the South Koreans would like that very much.
Edit:
You know especially the part about all out war.
north korean survives from the money by exporting people as cheap labor for mainly china but also other countries
this aired earlier right?
i remember when i was in japan I watched this in a hotel
`snip`
Why is everyone hating on the reporter, I think she did a fantastic job.
Bandwagon effect, I think. Maybe the god related bit was a tad blunt, but frankly if you're in somewhere like North Korea where you're going to be outright lied to at every turn, being polite won't get you very far.
:( pretty depressing - interesting though how they control information
Yeah, I don't think the South Koreans would like that very much.

Oh no, they would just sit back and watch the fireworks.
Why wouldn't they want to see North Korea get blown to pieces by the U.S
The north sunk one of their warships and technically they are still at war with them.
Besides that they fucking hate the north.

Except the fact that North Korea will retaliate and bomb/shell/nuke South Korean cities.
The South Koreans definitely definitely don't want that.
[editline]09:01PM[/editline]
That's my point, South Koreans don't want to be reminded of the war again.
I think the reporter did a great job; you need to be inquisitive if you want to see their true feelings.

The south did had a squad planning to kill Kim il Sung, made up of ex-convicts. But they failed.

That video is unlisted and I cant find any download for this documentary, assuming it is allowed to download.
Interesting yet again. Defintely one of the more informative documentaries of many others, especially with the different perspectives from ex north koreans. Damn we gotta do something it's so sad to see, the whole lie. Great reporter also critizising and being more questionable to the guide than just standing yes yes.
My chemistry teacher went there once, she sat in the dear leader's chair and watched a ton of children perform in their national stadium.
The whole trip cost 100USD.
How sad, those children looked ecstatic at the fireworks, highlight of the year for them probably :frown:.
I want to go to Pyongyang, just to see it. I mean, it's a shithole of a country and its leadership deserves the fascist gulags they built for their people, but you have to admit, it's a fairly nice looking city.
I can imagine that Best Korea will be liberated soon enough.
VBS.TV also did a report on North Korea, check it out here. It basically follows these guys in a few days on tourism in NK.
You oughta put this in the OP as well, it's very interesting
"But with the communication aware-South korea, how much longer will they be able to keep these people in the dark"
Exactly what I thought. While watching the documentary you could see alot of tension. I feel like something big will happen any moment now.
I'd love to know if people in NK actually believe the things the government tells them about the outside world. But it's impossible to know if they're being honest when the government won't leave reporters alone.

take a guess? they think that their president is immortal...

Well, it's like how those girls that escaped were saying, they thought that their leader was a god, and Kim was the son of god, and they thought the south was starving on the streets.
If you are told these things from birth, you have no common sense to debate against it.
