NSFW https://twitter.com/WreckinRod/status/897237723425021952?s=09
At first I was wondering what the fuck was going to happen and what I was watching, then I was caught off guard by what followed god damn :v:
this is actually kinda interesting from a gender identity and sexuality standpoint [editline]25th September 2017[/editline] if someone feels most comfortable presenting themselves as an anime girl online then i dunno if i can really judge them anymore than i could judge any other transgendered person
what about secondlife
dudes being girls on secondlife is by far the least concerning behavior i have seen from secondlifers [editline]25th September 2017[/editline] i think VR might make it feel more "real", if that makes any sense. you're more inhabiting the identity as opposed to controlling a pawn

Adding VR seems like it would make this experience dramatically cooler.
Could be that male characters in games are pretty generic (looks and personality) most of the time.
maybe, but i feel like it goes deeper than that because even in games where i can create my own character i trend towards female characters. like, in ss13 my static character is a girl [sp]which i can completely confirm gets you 100% more attention than male characters ever do[/sp]
For me it really is as basic as being female because I also sorta want it irl, but it's interesting to see that there's many reasons people prefer to play as girls!
maybe it is a form of gender fluidity, where you can be comfortable in your birth gender in public but have times where you wish to express the opposite gender in different spaces, such as online or in more private scenarios like in games. it isn't something i have seen looked into much in gender studies but i totally think it warrants further research.
I prefer female characters because they have prettier clothing generally. As far as I can tell I'm not trans but I really wish clothing wasn't gendered, I see all this frilly shit and I can't wear any of it and remain socially acceptable. Part of me wants to not give a shit but I can't go much further than this pink shirt I like.
100% honest, i like feeling pretty but only in the context of online environments or single player experiences. i won't go out of my way IRL to feel girly and pretty but if I get a chance to do so in a multiplayer game or single player game i highly likely will

Past few years I only played femchars whenever possible (except for mass effect lol) and now I'm more manchars.

I just don't really buy clothes at all anymore, I've been wearing a lot of the same clothes for four-five years. Really just money and lack of stimulant

It would be cool though if men formal clothing fashion wise we would go to Baroque and Rococo period. I like looking at a females ass in game more than a males. It's why I play as a female.
female characters often have smaller hitboxes, which is an advantage
when i first launched VRchat it was empty, maybe i went there when everyone was asleep. as for characters; first playthrough is always going to be a male unless there's something interesting for the female character. any other playthrough is always going to be a female unless i played as a female first.

I find it easier to empathize with female characters in the kinds of story-heavy RPGs that I like so I usually end up more involved with the story when playing female characters. I'm assuming that is a matter of psychology.
what an interesting direction this thread turned to
Mirror's Edge was p. cool
Mirror's Edge was p. cool
To be honest while I really liked the visual design and the idea, the jumping puzzles were often pretty unimaginative despite being the focus of the game and the combat when present was just annoying. 9/10
I think most people would pick female if life had a character creator. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gender_differences_in_suicide
i only play a girl character in 3rd person games bc i'd rather not spend hours of my time staring at a guy's ass
That's cool! I didn't mean everyone does the same, just some people. Maybe I should edit that.
