She does raise some decent points but at the same time completely nullifies them. Most of the games she references have very simple graphics and/or very simple characters in which it would be impossible to tell who is what gender.

If you ask me, there is definitely something wrong with video game culture regarding women, but it's a complex issue and she hasn't really made [I]any[/I] good arguments, and some of her examples are just rubbish.

Why did she have to go into a rant about the gender binary in the middle of her presentation? Seriously? I get that you don't like it, but that isn't an opinion held by most of the population of the world and isn't accepted as the norm in academic circles.
Just because most people don't agree doesn't mean she can't say anything about it, though you are right she could have shortened the video by excluding it.

Weren't here "Damsel In Distress" videos mostly incoherent rambling too?
I get that her heart is in the right place, but she's terrible at creating an argument. Most of her videos so far have been her simply stating the trope and barely anything else.

Its completely, true and you don't even need to go far. Just look at ANY set of mods for any Bethesda RPG and you'll see mods that basically make walking bimbo simulators.
The community is also split heavily with a minority thumping their chests, they're usually also the ones who claim that people are 'casuals'.
We need to get our collective shit together and realize that women play these games as well and this shit isn't cool at all.

Her videos have rustled quite a few feminists as well, it's not like feminism is some kind of hivemind and she's only considering things that fit tightly within what her views are. Not to mention the so called "attacks" on her were carefully selected to make people criticising her look bad and create publicity for her. I think we can all agree the industry would benefit from stronger female characters and better written stories but all she's managing to do is stir up shit and score free games off gullible people

That's a GOOD thing. Skyrim doesn't have makeup plastered amazons and the armor while unrealistic (which is fine for fantasy) is not bikini chainmail, it's all very conservative with the exception of the tribal outfits which makes sense. If people want to mod the game into a goofy porn show that's their decision and they should be allowed to do that but the fact that the game is not sold that way is a great thing.

The ultimate irony with that is that Bethesda games are some of the most gender neutral games in recent history.
I find it counterintuitive how she keeps talking about "female signifiers" in video games despite showing them off on her very own person. Besides, people get offended at everything and it's not like this millenium-old problem of female social standing is going to dissipate like wet toilet paper as soon as someone makes a completely non-sexist video game.
It's almost like she wants gender differences to not be a thing, and if it is, it's offensive.
