I'm a little worried about the direction this will take, purely because of the fact that almost no-one from the original Hitman team is working on it and because they replaced all the actors and the composer that you normally identify with the series. I still believe the developers when they say it will be possible to play it like the old games. I guess we will just have to wait and see.
Trailers: Designed to hook people in to buy the game/movie.

Trailers: Designed to advertise games that are in development.

Yes disagree because trailers aren't meant to advertise games and gameplay videios aren't supposed to hook people into the game and show what certain things are like.

Wait what?
That was possibly more retarded than any gameplay video or trailer released for this game yet, combined with the reactions that idiots who can't wait for more information have been spouting.
Going by the gameplay footage released so far, yes, you can sneak about all ninja like and get away with it just fine. If you pick the right path through the library they use, I'm sure there's a path or two with a low to none chance of running into an enemy you have to remove. But to show how combat and stuff works, it makes sense they'd pick a path where you run into an enemy.
The gameplay showed:
Stealth,
Distractions,
Disguises,
Sedation,
Stealthy(ish) kills,
Hostage taking,
and a few other minor things
Basically, you're all being massive fucking idiots again, judging a game with very little to actually judge it on. Do you not understand how promotional media works or something? You don't just show one thing as it limits the audience. You show interesting, catching things to grab peoples attention. Of course the trailer is going to be more action based than most of you will play the game.
sorry bud, I don't think your justified here. It's the things they have confirmed that ARN'T in the game that bothers people.
Things that are confirmed NOT in the game
*Proper Saving (no more saving, only derpy checkpoints)
*Levels are more linear, majority of the time there is one path (to stop frustration hahahahaha)
*no more David Bateson (the voice of hitman)
*no more diana (again voice has been replaced)
*no more map like their was previously (only a mini map on screen)
*No more jesper Kyd (the music composer, the music was awesome in the previous titles)
* aw3sOme Pather Mov3s!!!"!21 (...please)
* mega uber psychic vision showing enemy paths (............please)
sorry but more bad information has come out than good if you ask me you reckon that trailer showed stealth? LMAO thats hilarious.
anyway you can look forward to this all you want, but old school fans ( people who have been playing the franchise since Hitman 1) are disgusted at the things they have changed, obviously to accommodate the idiotic derp hand holding market.
Rip Hitman, you used to be a great franchise.
Another great example of how money ruins games. :(
I think I'll just replay blood money over and over, thanks.

And a level only having one place ot reach doesn't mean the level is linear unless it forces you along one path. The gameplay didn't show that.

Holy shit you can't argue for shit. The gameplay video did show stealth, but, seeing as you failed reading comprehension in year 3, you clearly didn't understand I was talking about the gameplay video, and not the god damn trailer.
Fuck. If you can't even get that far through a post, you aren't worth arguing with.

Welcome.... to facepunch, where trailers decide that the whole game is like that and it is only 1 level in the game and gameplay videos decide that if he plays like he wants to play means you have to play like it to... get over it, all games in modern time are bad because FP says so.

Would you both kindly shut up? We've only seen gameplay of a story mission, and the tutorial, and even then, we barely saw the story mission in the trailer ,which was actiony, for gods sake, even blood money did that for the trailers, wait until we see more, jesus.
I believe I read once that you can disable that sense thing.
I believe I read once that you can disable that sense thing.
Yeah, difficulty setting/option setting, i think both, i know its atleast on the hardest difficulty.
So even that is shot down.

*no more diana (again voice has been replaced) where did you hear that? even then, i think i heard her in a trailer and she sounds a lot like she did in blood money
*no more map like their was previously (only a mini map on screen) is replaced by instinct, though i'll miss it too

Got it?
I am pretty pumped for this game. Also the game is going to be more action-y than the others, get over it.

Even then, i've seen the tutorial level and it had more stealth in it than the first and last missions of blood money.

Every time people say HM:BO is stealthier than Absolution, I remind them of how 47 single handily killed 38 US marines inside of the whitehouse, and then shortly after had a one-on-one loud gunfight with a fellow baldman.
Oh yeah. THAT.

Because 4 way sword fights are so Hitman.
To be fair there was sword fights in Silent Assassin, well kinda. But holy shit its like they didn't even try to capture what and who 47 is. Then again they probable didn't.

Killing 38 marines inside the white house doesn't happen unless you want it too.
Killing 38 marines inside the white house doesn't happen unless you want it too.
What about the first mission, then? The one that deliberately made you murder two black dudes with a shotgun and use a mine to crash a gigantic lamp on a pimp, murdering two innocent prostitutes?
What about the first mission, then? The one that deliberately made you murder two black dudes with a shotgun and use a mine to crash a gigantic lamp on a pimp, murdering two innocent prostitutes?
A long with strangling a gang banger, shooting 3 people after taking a human shield, sniping 3-4 people, knocking a man off a ledge, and either punching/attacking/poisoning an innocent woman, and killing the gang bangers near the pimp.
[editline]31st March 2012[/editline]
And in the final mission you just kill EVERYONE you find.
Even a priest.
The first mission is a tutorial mission where you learn the tools of the trade. That is probably the same for Absolution.
The first mission is a tutorial mission where you learn the tools of the trade. That is probably the same for Absolution.
Ive seen it, its way more stealthy than the blood money one.
You sneak by police, you can, but dont have to, kidnap one to get by, and you end up taking a disguise to escape.
Well, there is going to be a livestream/panel kind of thing on Absolution at Pax East. I hear it's going to be for a whole hour, playing through the Orphanage level with stealth and full combat.
As for the complaints.
*I am a bit sad about David and Jesper not returning as 47 and the composer, but things happen. *Diana is justified with her being [sp] dead, really fucking plot relevant, absolution and all that [/sp] *Can't really say about the linear levels, it seems that most of the missions are story based and more linear.
*The "Instinct" mode is pretty much detective mode from Batman, everyone whines about it, but no one is forcing you to use it.
*The devs have promised to add a "oldschool fan service difficulty mode" bet you five bucks it's called "Silent Assassin"
Awww blackbird still rating me dumb, don't worry someone will care about ratings soon, I love you.
oh hey you showed me basically the only full gameplay video where it shows that you can take a stealthy approach to things as well as go in guns blazing like all the previous hitman games and basically everything that isn't a mainstream promotion has said that it will be a hitman game including the ability to disable instinct mode but the mainstream marketing shows lots of action so io has abandoned the series and are conforming to shitty standards what sellouts they ruined the series ill stick with blood money thank you this is so hitman conviction am i right guys huehuehuehuehue
get it its because splinter cell conviction wasnt like a splinter cell game and those kinds of jokes/comparisons are still witty and stuff.
What about the first mission, then? The one that deliberately made you murder two black dudes with a shotgun and use a mine to crash a gigantic lamp on a pimp, murdering two innocent prostitutes?
You also dont have to kill anyone innocent in that level if you dont want too. It was a tutorial level anyway.
Infact besides for the last level your not forced to kill anyone who is innocent.
The thing is, that gameplay video still showed 47 killing almost everyone and blowing his cover all the time...
As well as dropping a chandalier on a bunch of cops.
Tell me, how did you kill the second contact in Curtains Down?
That wasn't too actiony for you, was it?
The first mission is a tutorial mission where you learn the tools of the trade. That is probably the same for Absolution.
Yeah but they showed two levels so far and they both look like that. When they showed the library I was like aight it's cool it's the tutorial and the next level they show will be a real level but naw this orphanage shit also looks like a linear tutorial level.
Yeah but they showed two levels so far and they both look like that. When they showed the library I was like aight it's cool it's the tutorial and the next level they show will be a real level but naw this orphanage shit also looks like a linear tutorial level.
Except its a trailer.
Go watch blood moneys trailers and get back to me.

Hell, the first level is possible (although difficult) to complete without killing anyone (excluding the snipers, them you do pretty much have to shoot)
Except its a trailer.

Fair enough it's a trailer, but basically I wanna point some shit out.
Splinter Cell had a pretty much perfect game (Chaos Theory) in 2005 that had almost no plot, just going around to pretty much standalone levels that were all open ended and just amazing. Then it had Double Agent by a different studio, then there was like a 5 year hiatus and they came out with Conviction which was crazy plot focused, with a generic rogue agent revenge plot where Fischer ends up going against the people he used to work for. Really shit game.
Then look at Hitman yo. They had a pretty much perfect game (Blood Money) in 2006 that had almost no plot, just standalone levels that were all crazy open ended and detailed. Then a 6 year hiatus and now they have a game that is crazy plot focused where Agent 47 goes rogue and goes up against his former handlers...
The handwriting's on the damn wall yo
Oh this is gonna be a definite buy for me! (I don't buy games a lot.. Orange Box goes within the last 10.)
Like in Deus Ex, sneaking to the maximum and choosing between just stunning or stealth kill, and the weapon choices!
hitman is and never was a stealth game
it just allowed you to play it as stealth
and sometime it made you do actiony shit as part of a tutorial
how could you not get this
You still get rewarded for stealth which pretty much implies that it is the preferred way to play it.
