hitman is and never was a stealth game
it just allowed you to play it as stealth
and sometime it made you do actiony shit as part of a tutorial
how could you not get this
Clearly my post went over ya head son, I know Hitman isn't stealth the way Splinter Cell is, but it's still a brand of stealth; "hiding in plain sight".
The point of my post is that they're taking the exact same route the Splinter Cell guys did, the similarities are scary. Instead of expanding and evolving on what was so good before (open ended levels, hiding in plain sight, killing no one if you didn't want to) they're regressing into a story based game with more linearity which is just whack as fuck yo.
I mean let's be real son, there's literally not even the slimmest chance that the story will be even remotely good in any way par. Chaos Theory and Blood Money excelled so hard cause they had almost no story and the story that was there was just laying in the background smokin a joint like nah it's cool I ain't gonna get in yo way. Those games knew their stories were whack as fuck yo so they just relegated them to the bare minimum presence necessary. Conviction took open-endedness away for the sake of telling the story and the designers of Absolution even confirmed in interviews that they doing the same thing.
There's more arguing in here than a christianity thread in General Discussion.
I'm keeping myself open minded as to how the final product will be, personally.
Well thanks, now I have to change my pants.
you are also given the option to run around with a fully upgraded m4 in every mission and mow down everyone you see
Its still defined as a stealth oriented game. You had the option to go balls to the wall and shoot everyone in Chaos Theory but you wouldn't say splinter cell isn't a stealth oriented game, because that would just be ignoring something for the sake of argument.

lol you lost all credibility you've ever had in you life in that first little statement

I think he means how you dont need to solid snake everywhere, you can just walk there in plain view and nobody will do anything.
Unless its restricted of course but we all know what to do in that situation.

The fact that the game is based more around hiding in plain sight doesn't make it any less a stealth game.

Two words.
Shogun Showdown.
Its Funny; i can recall a time where the people who were talking shit about a game, before it was released were considered to be pretentious snobs. and not "Gamers" (what ever the fuck that means) Who are trapped into a single way of thinking.
And while i am on the subject, what in the good name of Fuck is with this negativity i see in all youth these days when it comes to media? What the fuck is wrong with a remake of total recall or The thing?
I am sorry if this fucking game isn't up to your standards, But do me a solid and Fuck off.

"What the fuck is going on"
You know I kinda wanted to get into Hitman, I suppose I'll start with Codename 47 then?

Blood Money is where I started.
I've also played Contracts but BM is the best.

Silent Assassin.
Yeah, I remember getting extremely frustrated very early on in Codename 47. I don't have that much experience with stealth games, though. Last stealth game I enjoyed was playing Human Revolution on a no-detection no-kill run.
Oh my friend has the games, I'll just loan from him.
I'd probably skip straight to Blood Money then. Some people say Silent Assassin was their favourite, but I find it pretty frustrating to be honest.
And good luck getting ahold of Contracts anywhere. One of the songs in it is done by a band that refused to let it get published anywhere online.
I got Contracts for free, thanks to some internet game-trading website that gave you a few points for registering.
Silent Assassin.
Let me reinforce what I said. Codename 47 is too different, I wouldn't bother. They got the formula right with SA. Most of Contracts is compromised of levels from Codename 47 anyway (and we all know where to get it)

SA also has the most epic of all the storylines. In the actual sense of the word
I take it that doesn't still work?
Don't know, it's been years since I got it.
The website might not even exist anymore.

I dunno, from what I've read the ending to Blood Money is amazing.

Oh it is, and it's a good game, but Silent Assassin takes you from Italy to Russia, Afghanistan, Malaysia, Japan and India all in one big glorious game.
Yeah, some of the levels are crazy difficult to get Silent Assassin rating on. Like the Japanese mansion, where you actually have to not be seen up close.
Can't get Silent Assassin to work on 1920x1080, only 720p which would be fine otherwise but it doesn't fit my monitor properly. Maybe I'll just play in 4:3 with huge black bars.

Sounds dope. I can already predict their main advertising point will be that it's a "true" hitman title.

Works perfectly, except that the window is not positioned right and I don't know how to move a borderless window
Is there a Hitman thread? I wouldn't want to clog this thread with my problems
