I'd say it's a combination of racism, partisan divisions, and the fact that with the economic problems that America has been going through, people are more keen to take extreme stances.

Why should we spend a ton of effort to remove a video from a service that is dependant on people actually seeking it out, when shit like FOX is forced down innocent kids throats every single day?

Not being from America, whenever I see american media/lobbies/groups wanting to criticize a politician, they always compare them to Hitler.
