Guess it's fitting that an FF will be the game that makes or breaks the company.
God this looks lame.
The narrator sounds so forced and monotone. And there's too much redundant information.
I feel like FFXV has had a really troubled development cycle. The length of time it's been worked on, the delays, and the combat system changing between demos really gives me a bad feeling about this game. Hopefully something good comes out of it but all the signs I see are pointing to a tangled mess of scraped and revised ideas that aren't as polished as they need to be.
That narrator sounded like he was doing that thing where you breath in deeply and talk at the same time so you sound like Stephen Hawking.
I've only seen one demo from TBFP and this trailer so I'm pretty excited to get this game, :v: I feel like I should have some doubts from what you guys are saying, what's wrong with he trailer if I can ask?

Hope it doesn't turn into another Duke Nukem Forever or something.
I'be been super skeptical about the game but after reading reviews from leaks and impressions of the judgement demo. It seems pretty positive.
That thumbnail really reminds me of this [editline]22nd November 2016[/editline]
The narrator sounds so forced and monotone. And there's too much redundant information.
The information he gives could have been given by screens that show up when you afk inside the game's start menu, but in a much smaller way, just like FF9 did. One of FF's ideas is to show us the world, not boringly tell us about it, imo.
i'm excited too, but you gotta admit the narrator for this trailer sucks lol
I'm really use to monotonous emotionless narrators (MGSV got me use to it lol)
This is what worries me most about this game, been waiting 10 bloody years for this. I could be wrong though. Then again I didn't know about the decade long development and I'm the farthest thing from a FF fan so that's probably why, but I do understand why you'd be skeptical too

Then I played the Platinum demo a few months later and the combat was completely different, and much worse from what I could tell. It doesn't really inspire confidence. I'll have to keep an eye on reviews and gameplay videos once the game is out to see what exactly the game even is when it's out.

Also it's also odd since they seem to change the gameplay mechanics after every demo and showing.
Yeah I can see why that does sound concerning actually. The changes weren't so drastic were they? I don't see how they could change it that much tbh
God this looks lame.
you're such a badass dude
No clue about DNF's marketing. Also it's also odd since they seem to change the gameplay mechanics after every demo and showing.
The DNF marketing was vague as shit. But I agree there''s a lot of flip flap going on here.
I'm not buying it the day it's released but I'll definitely keep my eye on it.
I'm a sucker for large and ridiculous spectacle (despite not liking God of War), and this is right up my alley. This trailer reminds me of this, which is actually a positive in my book.
Never played a FF game but I hope this one comes to PC within a year or two of the PS4 release. I'd rather play this game at a higher framerate and not deal with PS4 load times
Character dossiers read like fan fics "She's the hot powerful princess who also happens to be the last oracle wizard that talks with gods and its also the best in the sack." "The smartest advisor in the world who is also best friends with the prince and is really hot and has a british accent and is a fantastic cook who also uses DOUBLE DAGGERS with deadly efficiency"
Uh oh. A fishing minigame could be dangerous to me. I spent untold hours fishing in RPGs.

The original Episode Duscae demo had really cool combat mechanics, but apparently since people didn't understand it I guess (which would make sense since it's a demo) they changed it to be pretty much Kingdom Hearts.

He thought that he and most other players wouldn't want to memorize combos and such, so they simplified the core combat. Supposedly the Judgement Disc as a Japan-only demo isn't as terrible as it was previously thanks to some last-minute tweaks, but literally every other demonstration of XV seems to have something different even in the past month.
The game has had such a troubled development history that I can't help but be cautious. Optimistic, but I feel as though the odds are stacked against it being cohesive game. Wait for reviews I guess. To be honest, the thing I'm looking forward to the most is the soundtrack.
I'm kinda pissed at how this game has been marketed. It's like Square took a handful of darts and flung them at a dartboard of marketing ideas and used everything it hit. Some have been bulls-eyes (the recent Omen trailer, and the brotherhood miniseries) and things like this and few other trailers have been complete misses.
you're such a badass dude
thanks babe, lets ride into the sunset together in my muscle car while your hair blows in the wind
Just going by the combat alone this looks like it runs pretty parallel to Kingdom Hearts, I'm definitely interested.
Just going by the combat alone this looks like it runs pretty parallel to Kingdom Hearts, I'm definitely interested.
After playing the Platinum demo, which has been described as being "like Kingdom Hearts" I am utterly baffled at how people can enjoy that series for the gameplay. It was one of the most flaccid, unsatisfying things I can remember playing.
