That Asari's voice actor is the same as FO4's female protagonist if I'm not mistaken. Good stuff, I always enjoyed her delivery.

So Jack's VA
Which is improbable. Any fan of the series would recognize her voice and associate her with Jack. No, I don't think it's the same actress.
What makes you think that? Imho the trailer didn't really show anything besides some graphics.
You have to understand the significance of this video: we have had so far very little footage of ME4. We have to assume that everything that is shown at this point is supposed to be representative of the game.
Also, cross-posting from the Mass Effect thread:

Remnant Vault Raids: Find and activate Remnant Monoliths to unlock Remnant vaults. Explore abandoned Remnant ruins to find and locate a powerful artifact, but once you remove it you will trigger the vault defenses that will arm traps, activate defense robots and even change the architecture of the vault itself to stop you from escaping. Fight your way out of the vault and you will be rewarded with valuable loot, including powerful gear, crafting resources and Star Keys that can be used to unlock massive orbital facilities in space that grant permanent stat bonuses.
This is from a leak (which we have no reason to believe is fake) and it's probably about what we're seeing in the video.
I couldn't help it, sorry.
This looks like ME1. Graphics wise.
I really can't imagine how terrible your eye sight must be.
It's just probably unfinished, pre-alpha and all. It'll look better.
Graphics don't really amaze as much as they used to. Neither does wondrous alien tech. You can make anything in a computer.
Gameplay and writing seem to have left biowares grasp however. I have a feeling the gameplay will be sub par, the universe / art direction bland, and the characters horribly written stereotypes or just not fleshed out. Don't forget the obligatory socially progressive characters!
So I'll pass.
Bioware never had great character writing but their gameplay and universe building was great. Now they don't even have that. RIP.

Also no offense to Baker but at this point I've got some fatigue. Let's get just a few games where he isn't in it.
The facial animations are overdone. Simple lines and their mouths are moving like they're enunciating every syllable.
I don't really care just as long as we get a big galaxy full of adventure, and no super doomsday main story.
It is a very dark and fogy environment, with very clean and sterile design, you can't do much to make it look impressive. If they chose an environment that was outdoors and with a lot of colors and shit, or a smaller, but well lit indoor environment with a lot of detail, it would leave a completely different impression.
what a bore
When Bioware does faces it's always uncanny valley level.
I think it looks great for a Mass Effect title, it's a big leap from the previous games. I mean since the franchise is not known for its "making-your-eyes-go-full-euphoria"-visuals.
But for a video that says "shit yo, look at our graphics, it's so good it's off the fucking charts", that was pretty underwhelming.
that running animation at 2:54 looks like a someone trying to jog having shat themselves

really bad
Every time I see this Asari it induces this strange feeling for me, it just looks so weird and when I see it in motion it makes me cringe so hard. Dragon Age Inquisition also invoked the same feeling, maybe because every character looked so plastic and the proportions just looked weird as hell.

They made an ugly asari which goes against the canon

Its okay. I've spent the day laughing talking about the Hamburgous Asarous.
Beause why the fuck does she look like the fucking Hamburglar in one picture?
Yeah, graphics are okay. Although I don't know, monolithic sturcutres don't impress me that much.
No story, no real character interactions, can't talk about that yet except for the lack of it.
Gameplay was just slowly jumping around.
I realize this was just a tech demo, so I'll wait for more. I'm not a fan of the armor designs though.

I disagree. Bioware reused Fred Tatasciore for characters other than Saren and Keith Szjarabaka voiced Harbinger and a couple other NPCS.

I mean, I'm just trying to say it's not unlikely

Having personally worked with voice actors, I can attest that voice actors can have an extremely wide range to their voice.
Hell, just consider Kathleen Barr, who in Ed, Edd, n Eddy, voiced both Kevin (0:44):

and Marie (0:12):

Despite going for high detail the way they animate faces now makes things look cartoonish.
They're blatantly exacerbating facial expressions beyond realistic limits which can work, when you aren't going for a high detail near-realistic visual style.
This doesn't feel like Mass Effect.
TBH I'd rather it didn't, if "feel" is based on ME2/ME3. I loved ME1 and was less and less impressed with each iteration of it, ME2, while enjoyable, left a bitter taste in my mouth with it's purist cover-shooter game mechanics, and I didn't even bother with ME3 after ME2. I'd rather the game go back to the whole planet exploring free-form action rpg like the first one. So far this game looks like it will be what DA:Inq was to DA:2, which I'd be just fine with.

I'm going to be genuinely honest Miranda and Diana were the only characters I knew who definitely had scanned faces
My bad :v:
I'm glad that they are still reusing awful animations that have been in use since ME1 eg. crazy arm flailing in the run/walk transitions.
