Oh god, it's so fake. How did that even end up in the trailer.

I know, Miles Teller a real actor, i cant believe either.
They're using a really cheap, experimental cloud based software for the CGI in case anyone's interested. Which is why the effects look pretty, well, crappy in places

this can only end well
trailer didn't do anything for me. but I still like the idea of Michael b Jordan as human torch.
I still don't understand why the Human Torch is now black. Please don't tell me it's because of "MUH RACIAL EQUALITY".

I wouldnt really care so much if it wasnt for the fact that his sister is still white.
Iunno, sure he could be adopted but, still kind of an odd way to go about having a black dude in a fantastic four movie.

Johnny Storm being black isn't an issue. In a world where we have a black-Hispanic Spider-man (double whammy right there) and a Muslim Miss Marvel, stuff like that can be expected. If a minority takes on a superhero identity and it makes sense, more power to them. Even if Sue turns out to be adopted, that's something we'll be able to live with.
As for him being black, call me a cynic but I don't think it's a coincidence that Johnny Storm is both black and being played by someone who was in Chronicle, Josh Trank's previous movie.

He won't be adopted. Franklin Storm (daddy Storm) is also black for some reason.
i guess maybe they didn't want to have the sole black dude be the Thing. fair enough i guess

Ah.
Also, to be fair, those two characters you mentioned are seperate from the original ones.
Peter Parker =/= Miles Morales.
[editline]31st January 2015[/editline]
Like im all for diversity, but why not make it about a previously existing black superhero or somebody else who's used the superhero title.

And again to be fair, Muslim Ms Marvel is actually the mainstream one. And yeah, Miles Morales is in the Ultimate universe but it's still Marvel's biggest superhero. Minorities getting a bit of spotlight in something like this is always a good thing. If it's written well, does your last question really matter all that much?

Aye but they are actual comic book characters. There is no black Johnny Storm in the comics so I still do not understand why they went to all the trouble to make Sue an adopted sister or something?

Firstly, i was talking about the characters, not the universe :v:
Second, yeah, it is a good thing, but theres a lot of minority superheroes who could be used instead of modifying existing white ones.
Like, specifically black superheroes, ignoring Luke Cage, Cyborg, Black Panther, (uuggh) Steel, and Blade for a moment, since they've all gotten/will get their own movies/TV shows, theres also Falcon, Static Shock, Black Lightning, John Stewart.
Or teams with a prominent black member like Young Avengers' Patriot.
I mean yeah it really doesnt matter too much, but i think it'd be better to focus on actual minority superheroes than changing existing ones.
And hey, Fox does own a few, not sure if they could hold their own movies, but, they got presumably all the minority X-Men characters like Storm and Bishop.
[editline]31st January 2015[/editline]
Cant really think of many hispanic superheroes though.
Besides like, Miles Morales, theres White Tiger.

Oh yeah no thats totally the case.
Like the Director just didnt give a fuck for this movie, dude showed up high as a kite all the time and destroyed $17,000 worth of set equipment in one day.

As if the Doom in this movie wasn't enough of an indication to that effect.
