The fact that you can go from game to anything else in less than a few seconds is amazing, and something PS4 really lacks in.
Hate the Xbox all you want, but the stuff they're doing with their software and Kinect is amazing

They both have their ups and downs, but the Kinect is really making me consider an Xbox One.
I'm more curious as to where the limits of Kinect begin. I mean, on the original Kinect, you could use it for fucking modeling.

The Kinect is a good idea but I hate how they're shoving it down peoples throats.
i would of bought a xbone if i didnt have to pay for that fuckin kinect
Hopefully software improvements will make it so you don't have to repeatedly shout like an idiot to get it to understand you.
I thought we were done with that kind of thing with Siri?
mind reading interface
Still think it's damn impressive.
Yeah it sure is impressive to have a feature that works 2/5ths of the time, Microsoft is really stepping their game up.

Would be more impressive if you stop post.

Adam Sessler and most other reviewers said it works basically 9/10 times, and while that isn't a perfect streak, you're hurting nothing but your credibility when you cite 2/5 as the real figure. Right now it's pretty much just a novelty, but most reviewers thought it was fairly useful when used in conjunction with a controller.
And it's likely that it's gonna be improved upon, so there's only one way from here, really.
looks like it's only really failing when searching for specific ass shit like "go to toyota.com"
also the fact that this guy isn't even saying the commands right half of the time
Would be more impressive if you stop post.
Oh gosh im so hurt. I think i need to take some time alone to myself, someone didn't like something i said :(
Most of the videos i've watched on the kinect for xbone, it fucked more than actually worked. That or it would get things wrong and hear things incorrectly.
Could very well be diction and sure when you first get the system you'll be distinctly dictating commands to it, but after the novelty wears off you'll stop sternly going "xbox, go to internet explorer" or what have you, clearly dictating your words to your usual speaking pattern.
If you use a kinect as is with a normal speaking tone kinect gets wonky, i'd imagine and so far it seems to be correct, that for the xbone, this exact problem still exists.
It works, but it works conditionally and even then it still fucks up decently enough to say it could be leagues better.
Kinect really isn't worth it other than a novelty, as said above, you have reviewers saying it was nice, but it's barely above novelty stage.

9/10 times the kinect fucked up for this guy when was he was using the commands wrong. you gotta say "ecks bocks" first. he didn't.

What do you think would people be uploading more?
Videos of it working or videos of it not working?
why not like some fuckin you know, push to command button
why not like some fuckin you know, push to command button
they have those????
What do you think would people be uploading more?

Well you have the fanboys and you have the bandwagoners who hate it and those that legitimately hate it. Each have their reasons and you can find both.
It does do that, but it allows more flexibility before it stops understanding you. You can say "Give me the weather" or "What is today's weather?" and she will interpret it the same way.
On the Xbox One you always have to say "Xbox, open Weather" no matter what
In public when people use Siri you get confused and think they're asking you, same thing would go if you're sitting at the lounge with people around you, that's why saying Xbox first makes it better, but they should make it like siri in a way where you can go Xbox, what's tomorrows forecast and have a reply back but that'll come in due time
voice command stuff is always shitty
it's only cool on an episode of star trek
He forgets to say Xbox Browse... and thinks it's stupid.
Because Destructoid
He starts with Xbox, <command>, then gets annoyed as it doesnt recognize it for jack shit and starts dropping the xbox part
It looks like it works like crap, and if the interface is designed mostly for that as people say this is gonna get interesting

Damn, this is an excellent example of how awesome the Kinect is. It's just not being used to its full potential.
We could see real-time modeling/UVing/texturing from our living room in this generation. Sure, there's a lot of downsides to the Xbone, but this is an amazing benefit.
xbox go home you're drunk

Actually it is but just not in gaming.
I dunno if this exists, but if it doesn't then this would be a great addition to the Xbox One controller. They should add a voice input on the controller so if it's in the middle of the night you don't have to shout for the Kinect to hear you.
The Kinect is a good idea but I hate how they're shoving it down peoples throats.
The kinect, voice recognition, being able to go from the game to the home screen incredibly fast.
None of that appeals to me, I don't want to be able to watch netflix on my console or anything like that.
I just want to play games :(

I wish all voice operations could go through the controller, like the headset was built into the it.
But, knowing them, we'll have to pay extra to scream at little kids online...
The original kinect which is supposedly not as good recognizes me perfectly fine even when there's background noise, and can even identify where I am in the room accurately with other people dicking around. There's some neat apps packaged with the SDK to program for it that test things like that, if you've got one for PC
