I want them to make a Starwars Republic Commando so fucking bad though. Literally make it Zero-Dark Thirty but with Republic Commandos instead of seals. Just going around doing crazy feats of tactical magic. Like 13 Hours levels of intensity.

I think this works more for a standalone movie though, typically Star Wars has been about family drama and legacy which I don't think works that well for self contained story. As long as they keep the other core principles of the OT I think it should be good.

Was the part of the movies I loved as a kid. Hoth, Endor, and hell, Geonosis were my favorite parts of the movies when I was a kid, seeing stormtroopers and rebels or clones and droids slug it out in a future conventional war was cool as hell, way cooler than the sword fights.
