mw3 is a horrible game that gets great ratings. its literally a conspiracy, they are paying them to give them ratings :V
Well yeah that's how it works. When 80 publications from a wide range of sources give a game an 88, obviously Activision is paying them all off. It can't be that it's just a good game in itself. Nope, you don't like it so CONSPIRACY.
I own both BF3 and MW3, I like BF3 more but I still find MW fun. The last COD game I owned was CoD4 so the content is pretty new to me
At its base values, MW3 is fun. Run around, kill or be killed, enjoyment all around except for those who get their asses kicked. Same as any other game, really, in that factor.
Then comes in the unlockables, killstreaks, poor spawning, deathstreaks, and other factors that haphazardly toss that base factor in disarray. Some might have fun because their killstreaks wreak havoc, others might not have fun because of said killstreaks; some unlockable weapons or perks might clearly disbalance things; and naturally, the poor spawning pisses both sides off. Put on top of this, the high-priced Downloadable Content of $15 for four maps each pack, a lack of patches that fix gamebreaking player classes (like the Noobtube + Danger Close + One Man Army of MW2; there WAS a patch concerning this issue, but it really didn't do much of note anyway), and a blatant amount of laziness in recycling content that goes beyond Valve's laziness and straight into bullshit.
At its core is a game that is enjoyable like many other games; it's all the shit sprinkled on top that gives it its negative reputation and 'bandwagon' hate nowadays, not to mention Activision's jerkass methods of business practices and other factors. And unfortunately, it sells like hotcakes packaged with porn tapes, and sets a bad 'standard' for the FPS genre that I honestly am disappointed with.

Yeah MW3 is the best game ever made I get 40:2 KD ratios every time I play its super balanced and realistic much better than Battlefield BAD (really developers, are you even trying??) Company 2 or whatever it was called. Activision is much better than Valve too. You KNOW that if a company is giving out FREE things they are just desperate for players LOL.
I can't wait for MW4 next november.
you can't call a game balanced then admit that you reward people for doing good with major benefits by giving them more kills, that's just retarded and DOESN'T MAKE ANY SENSE.
A truly fair game would be giving everything to the player and letting them do only exactly what the other can do.
I like how the guy talks about how hard it was for newcomers in MW2 when it probably had the easiest learning curve of any game I've ever seen.
MW2 was the only game I've ever seen where two teenage girls who had practically never picked up a controller could go in with a 1.5k/d consistently.
Not saying it's a bad thing, but despite what people say, CoD is a pretty casual game since anybody can pick it up and be instantly good at it.

Yeah but it still depends on the person. I can tend to suck at Mw2, either tie a k/d or 1 or 3 less kills then deaths.
Though, Maybe the fact that I can't stand controllers contributes to that, and I have somewhat shit reaction timing anyways.

DotA and CS are two extremely balanced games where the better a player is doing the more they are rewarded. There's a difference between balanced and fair.
We can argue against some of the more obnoxious killstreaks (I think everything above attack helicopter should probably be done away with) but the concept itself is perfectly balanced and has been a staple of competitive games for years.

What are you on about.

Fuck all of you.
Well I haven't played enough of MW3 to say how balanced or unbalanced it is.
However the past CoD were RIDICULOUSLY unbalanced where it almost seemed like they weren't even trying. I seriously doubt they managed to fix that with this release.

The only unbalanced CoDs I thought were WaW and MW2. CoD4 and Black Ops were damn near perfect. MW3 is somewhere in between. Still not much better or worse than any other brown manshooter to come out over the past 10 years.
Man they must have had to have crap balance if they are actually using it as a selling point.
me thinks raidyr needs to stop blindly defending a clearly and widely accepted game that isn't good
[editline]29th December 2011[/editline]
which is mw3
Does it matter; it's still a major gameplay flaw (One of many, might I add) that once again proves to us all that Call of Duty is a game truly worthy 9/10 and 10/10 ratings
Yes, a sometimes crappy spawn system makes the game overall terrible.
Raidyr didn't you like, troll that BF3 thread?
Also, just tested my new xbox for CD stability whilst being tilted, used my MW2 copy to test it, so I scrached it really badly
hey it's either MW2 or I risk breaking an actually worththemoney game.
battlefield 3 has a pretty bad spawn system too, I often find myself getting spawn killed
i'd rather masturbate for an hour than play MW/2/3 for an hour if i'm honest
I'd rather masturbate for an hour then do lots of things.
battlefield 3 has a pretty bad spawn system too, I often find myself getting spawn killed
Thats really only in team deathmatch.
Rush and conquest usually spawn just fine.
The way the maps are laid out (most of them close quarters) MW3 is highly unbalanced towards sub machine guns and akimbo weapons.
CoD is a great game to mess around on. People that take it seriously and play in 'competitive games' against other clans are just kidding themselves.
As much as I dislike Modern Warfare 3, I have to say, the survival mode with a friend is actually really fun.

Could have just put in a fucking blank cd, there goes 60 (perhaps) dollars of your money or even worse, someone else's.
Call of Duty is nothing more than Quake with a new look, to me. Only Quake was new and fun
I'll take CoD2 and Possibly 4, over any other CoD, and that includes the 'new' one coming out in 2012 around November

I remember when one guy said that on youtube before black ops was released.
He was serious

Who gives a shit?
I have too many games to know what to do with, I had fun, but at the same time, I'm tired of arguing about how illogical the game with while playing it.
Good riddance.
Yes because kill streaks that reward the best players and punish those who arent as good are totally balanced.
MOAB? Hm. Didn't see that in the game. Perhaps it's a Beta build?
Even before the release, the developers said 'no game-ending nuke'.
Mod perhaps?

You get it for getting 25 kills without dying on some certain killstreak mode or something
The devs also said no Death streaks, last stand and all the shit in the video.

24kills gets you a moab which kills everyone but the game doesn't end.

The MOAB, as mentioned by the two posters above me, is a 25 kills killstreak. It's literally the Tactical Nuke from MW2, minus the big flash and instant-win; time slows down a little as it goes off, the coloration of the map and sky change entirely, and a large wave of dust shoots through the area. It only kills the opposing team - once, no matter where they are - and then leaves the color changes.
