Your definition simply doesn't fucking exist.
So you are saying that definition doesn't count because you don't like it. Somehow google doesn't count because you don't want it to.
So you are saying that definition doesn't count because you don't like it. Your definition, which we can use, sure, actually validates my argument that this is subjective.
I think it's pretty good of you to dodge the important thing here. Your definition, which we can use, sure, actually validates my argument that this is subjective.
But it is using the term 100% right. The SPEAKER thinks the game is an abortion of RPG mechanics. You going "hurr durr but it's the speaker who thinks this" doesn't make the title wrong. The speaker (video) thinks it's an abortion and then goes on to explain why he thinks this.
you have argued this whole time it's objective in relation to what it means to be an RPG
how about we stop using the word abortion because it's a stupid way to describe the quality (or even absence) of the game's mechanics and is literally the only reason why we're arguing (not counting all this vendetta shit you guys have)
Honestly, this whole fucking mess with the usage of abortion is probably the only reason this has gone on past 5 pages. At this point, the two groups regarding Fallout 4 just huddle in their own spaces and pop out when someone they agree with talks.
Jesus Christ are there so many people who haven't ever seen "Abortion" used in a way other than its literal sense? Really?
This thread showed up somewhere else http://8ch.net/v/res/7569823.html Alright which one of you posted this.
Jesus christ. Can the idiots on here not go there and try to "defend facepunch". It's only making this site look worse.
I don't think anyone gives a shit what they think. Why should anyone care
That doesn't make it not a definition. Now are you just going to argue that you don't agree with it's dictionary definition? [editline]22nd December 2015[/editline] Except that is it's literal definition. Are you being serious right now?
It's an informal definition, and yes I don't agree with it. To define a lackluster product as an abortion just sounds silly, and if you're going to make a joke about how I'm triggered by it then you'd be right. The definition feels similar to how 'rape' is used informally to suggest that X beat Y (ie. Fallout NV absolutely rapes 4 in terms of game depth). I see an abortion of mechanics to be a literal removal of them, as in those mechanics didn't just fail to develop to a point of complexity, but failed to develop into anything in general. However I will admit, that is a definition. But again, I still stand by my last post in that the word 'abortion' is stupid to use in this context if it's literally the only thing we're going to argue about. We all agree that Fallout 4 fucked up it's RPG side, so why not end it on that? [editline]23rd December 2015[/editline] jesus fuck i just went on lmao pics what a shitshow
This thread is fucking embarrassing.
I just went on there to provide a talking point but now people are just straight up insulting each other it's stupid enough to screen cap posts and throw em on /v/, but it's worse to just start shitting on /v/ and throwing their posts here
Jesus christ. Can the idiots on here not go there and try to "defend facepunch". It's only making this site look worse.
they already hate the site, what difference does it make if they hate it more what are we going to cry about someone not liking facepunch?
facepunch has a pretty shitty reputation anyway hell it's not even well known enough to have any reputation worth defending
So I come back after editing some audio and writing a new script and Jesus Christ. Even 8chan is getting on in this shitstorm. Also part 2 should be up in a few days. (That is if anyone actually cared past page 1)
I don't think anyone gives a shit what they think. Why should anyone care
I don't know, ask 9b45aa.
facepunch has a pretty shitty reputation anyway hell it's not even well known enough to have any reputation worth defending
The worse reputation we have, the less idiots try to get on board. And I'm almost serious here, but not really.
The worse reputation we have, the less idiots try to get on board. And I'm almost serious here, but not really.
we don't even have a global reputation and we still get shit members at least we don't circlejerk as often as reddit or something (at least not without some opposition)
we don't even have a global reputation and we still get shit members at least we don't circlejerk as often as reddit or something (at least not without some opposition)
Terrible posters are an inevitability even if you're an obscure community on the outer edges of the internet. Imagine how many shit members popular places get. We aren't popular, and where we are known, we have a terribad reputation, which, as far as my opinion goes, is unjustified, Facepunch is far from terrible.
I have fun when playing Fallout 4
I have fun when playing Fallout 4
good for you
we don't even have a global reputation and we still get shit members at least we don't circlejerk as often as reddit or something (at least not without some opposition)
There is a pretty hard circle jerk scene here and when someone makes a pattern of disagreeing they do end up banned though. I dunno FP does deserve its reputation as a furry/anime dumping ground to an extent.
There is a pretty hard circle jerk scene here and when someone makes a pattern of disagreeing they do end up banned though. I remember people used to shit on furries and anyone who came to defend them usually ended up banned and then everything was quiet until MLP came out and there was a new ban condition about that.
There is a pretty hard circle jerk scene here and when someone makes a pattern of disagreeing they do end up banned though.
this, I've seen people get banned for the silliest of reasons on the politics board for simply disagreeing with the hivemind. the gaming section is pretty cool though.
It's not really that people get banned for going against "the hivemind" it's the way they do it. More often than not they are shitty posters who resort to flaming, trolling, or trying to make themselves look like oppressed victims after getting boxes/disagrees.
There is a pretty hard circle jerk scene here and when someone makes a pattern of disagreeing they do end up banned though. I dunno FP does deserve its reputation as a furry/anime dumping ground to an extent.
My point is that at least those arguments start. There are a lot of places where everyone just agrees with each other and goes on their merry way. There is circle-jerking, but there is always a few good people that try to argue for the other side, which is more than what I've seen elsewhere. [editline]23rd December 2015[/editline]
this, I've seen people get banned for the silliest of reasons on the politics board for simply disagreeing with the hivemind. the gaming section is pretty cool though.
political discussions lead to some serious flaming at some point and the minority is typically the one that flames the hardest since they need to be twice as aggressive in getting their point across. Think of it like this: Shittiness of the Majority is diluted among many people = Less chance of an individual from this group getting banned. Not to mention their arguments can be more laid-back since the majority will back them up, and thus, they have little reason to flame. Shittiness of the Minority is concentrated in a very small amount of posters (sometimes it's a single poster) = Higher chance of an individual from that group getting banned. Their arguments typically need to be aggressive to get their point across as well as counter all the other side-arguments the majority makes. And since this is the internet, everyone is so entrenched in their views that the minority group will get frustrated with their lack of progress and slip into BAN TERRITORY. Of course there are exceptions to this, but that's what I've observed.
Honestly, I've seen people that haven't done any flaming or trolling and they've gotten banned for certain controversial topics. Infact the forum is 100% left wing, so there is already a circle jerk going on in the politics. Its just a bunch of people agreeing with one another and that doesn't leave much for debating, get's old very fast.
Not even remotely close.
is this a joke?
You'd have to be blind to think SH is 100% left wing.
80% or 90%, it doesn't really matter. There is a circle jerk going on, the majority of the posters and the mods themselves... SH is a left wing forum.
You can debate arguments without insulting people you know?
I've seen people criticize the current immigration crisis here and automatically they are called a racist and then banned. No insulting required.

I've criticized the refugee situation, I've done so in a respectful way and haven't engaged in irate bullshit in those threads, I'm not banned. God damn, is this a joke?
