Holy shit, there aren't many videos were you see a guy get directly hit by a grenade launcher
I do kinda feel sorry for the guy, at least his death was quick and the amount of suffering he put on the people below well..
Let's just say when civil war breaks out things like this happen all the time
Slow? He could have been sent flying by the blast onto the other roof, left for the vultures. Slowly dying, but still feeling pain.

I don't think you understand how explosives work.
[editline]21st July 2012[/editline]
This is not Hollywood. That man was hit almost directly with a 40mm grenade. The pressures are high enough to instantly kill anybody a ten or so foot radius let alone the shrapnel.
Slow? He could have been sent flying by the blast onto the other roof, left for the vultures. Slowly dying, but still feeling pain.
If the blast was close and powerful enough to send the guy cartwheeling off the roof, I doubt he survived.

That was a beautiful shot, the sniper died instantly. That's a lifeless corpse you're seeing do acrobatics

Facepunch, being a forum of over 20,000 different people online at any different time, has fluctuating opinions because different people post at different times.
What are you talking about? Facepunch is a hivemind. Non-conformists will be swiftly terminated.
After speccing this guy for a little while I figured he was aimbotting and kicked him.
Your welcome.
Gh3y FAIL. He used the n00btub3 like a n00b. Le4rn t0 360 br0. WUHDDA BIN EPIC. LEGENDARY. Elso re4l snipper pr0s quicksc0p3.[FAZE]xXx0pt1cpr3daturXxX 0ut!

Take it as this, perhaps they were not cheering for the death of the Syrian arms, but rather cheering that no one else will be killed by him, that they're one step to destroying a brutal regime, that they may have peace and live life without worrying that the next step they take outside might be their last?
Yeah I don't get it either. Facepunch was all "Don't be happy about the death of Bin Laden" and now they're rating winners for a guy blown into the sky and killed who probably had a family and was forced to fight in a war he might not even support (though I don't know how it works over there)
Because Facepunch hates America.

Don't expect consistency with facepunch's community. The majority of the people here are 14-16 year olds who's opinions change on a daily basis.
I was surprised when he flew intact, I thought that he would be torn apart by the explosion.
They were probably cheering because the threat was eliminated
I mean people don't just cheer when someone is killed, they usually cheer for what will happen because of the death of that man(In this case,it stopped him from killing more rebels/civies)
I have no idea what they hit him with but it wasn't with a 40mm grenade. It looked like one, but that was way too much force
Wouldnt you cheer if some guy was shooting at you got blown up? I would
the difference between this guy and a conscript is that this guy is a sniper and a proficient marksman.
not a conscript.

I'm talking in the same way as when people generalize Facepunch as a forum full of teenage athiests
Not everyone here is a teenager, not everyone is an athiest, but there is a general view that the majority of the community holds and that is what I was referring to

are the two necessarily mutually exclusive?

I thought this was common knowledge?
Looks like getting blown up by artillery in bf2 haha
stupid muslims
Well there we go. This poor sod was probably plucked from his family, and now Facepunch along with the people in the video are cheering for his death
Makes me feel bad for the guy, it's not like he had a choice
[editline]22nd July 2012[/editline]
All the more pressure for him to shoot everyone, had he let everyone past he would have been in the shitter...maybe killed (someone more informed than me might like to fill in the blanks)
If this cunt had any fucking balls he'd have refused to shoot or defected, he chose to kill people any way because he's a self centred coward thus I don't give a shit whether he was conscripted or not
That's fucked
In a kinda good way?
But wow that video is fucked

Refuse to shoot = possibility of being killed. Run away = possibility of family being killed.
Its easy to sit comfortably behind a computer screen and tell some soldier stuck in a life or death situation to have balls.

Oh right so if your family might die it's a-ok to go out shooting other peoples families
Oh right so if your family might die it's a-ok to go out shooting other peoples families
For most people I would imagine so. I wouldn't be happy about it at all, but I'd do it too probably. I don't have any reason to put their family ahead of mine, at all.
Oh right so if your family might die it's a-ok to go out shooting other peoples families
Stop posting, you're terrible. Evilweazel and other Facepunchers have made fair point after fair point and your replies are just cringeworthy. Do you not understand how blackmail works? Do you not understand how horrible it is to have your family threatened and know their lives depend on your actions?
It's the same with the Japanese soldiers who were pilots. The ones who were kamikaze pilots. They didn't DECIDE to do that, they were forced. Any soldier who refused to kamikaze, or any soldier who defected was promised that his family would be killed.
how can you be upset that they're cheering he died? they've probably been fucking trapped in a building all day (all week) while he has been sitting up there killing family, friends, neighbors, etc.
is it right to "cheer" for death? no. but for fuck's sakes, don't take the moral high ground on these poor people.
Oh right so if your family might die it's a-ok to go out shooting other peoples families
No, not necessarily. But saying they guy has "no fucking balls' because he didn't refuse to shoot or defect is just fucking stupid considering the complexity of what he might be going through.

But probably more likely that he chose to be where he was.

The kamikaze pilots were fighting other combatants so they get sympathy from me as they felt their country was being threatened and they were defending it. These guys are shooting civilians, that is why I see them as shit heads.
Also I'm not going to stop posting just because you disagree, that defeats the fucking object of a forum.

You, sir, are unbelievably dense. You make a plank of wood seem smart. What do you not understand about these guys shooting civilians being blackmailed into doing it? Are you seriously telling me you'd say "No fuck you" to a Military force that openly executes civilians and soldiers even AFTER they threaten to kill your family? You'd be extremely thick if you did so, because not only would they kill your family, they'd kill you. I'm not saying ALL these soldiers are blackmailed, but a vast majority are. Stop being so narrow-minded.

PS: Those Kamikaze pilots did not choose to fly their planes into the enemy. It goes against all survival instincts. Yes, they wanted to fight for their country, but a damn many of them did not want to fly a plane into the enemy ships. They did it to protect their families back at home.
