I feel like everyone who's hating on this is acting like it's the end of Arin's animation/comedy career and/or the world.
It's a bit of a flop to some people. Some of his videos are. No one can constantly put out perfect 100% hilarious content all the time without having videos that don't appeal to everyone.

You realize that video you're talking about was probably made recently right? Way after animation was probably being finished and touched up.

whats weird to me, is that it just looks kind of lazy. the animations kind of jumped around and I didn't really find many of the jokes funny. people posting earlier about how he considered this his best makes me think that he probably had something else, then scrapped it and rushed this one. to me, it just doesn't seem like something he would consider his best.
I wouldn't call it horrible, but it was worse than most of his other work.

I think (myself included) are just kind of stunned honestly. The quote on the last page was him hyping it up and people who are fans of his (Hell I knew him back before he even animated and was a member of Legendary Frogs site) have been waiting nearly a full year and the end result is far from the quality we're used to seeing from him and it ended on a fart of a joke.
I don't think anyone really thinks Arin should hang up his coat and give up, it's just a bit of frustration.

I never stated my own opinion on the video so how can you assume that im saying "AHAHA WHAT A LOSER HE EXPECTS QUALITY?! HAHHA" since obviously this is not his magnum opus. I think the video is pretty "okay" it made me chuckle slightly at the end, but mostly because of the unexpected animation change.

How would game grumps affect him if its pretty much the same thing he was doing since a year or more prior but this time recorded, with a friend he's known for over a year before GG even started.

This is the weirdest thing since it was at those very conventions he was building it all up and the reason he's there at all. That's kind of the point. He had a lot of "I'm a animator!" booths where he would coyly tease Pokeawesome 2 and talk about animating and how much fun it is and how he's focused on doing it!!
And then it was nothing but game grumps; and in one episode I recall him just flat out saying "Man fuck that I'm lazy and just don't wanna do it now" when him and Jon were talking about their "normal" stuff and how hard it is to really get back into it. I wish I could remember the exact episode but I swear it was there.
As I said above; despite whatever tone you think I have, I'm just really let down that one of my favorite animators quality has sunk like a stone in this. Every other animator out there these days relies on wacky faces and super over the top violence and sex jokes. While Ego isn't a stranger and has done one or two of the jokes in the past this just felt phoned in and lazy as all fuck. Someone said if it had ended with Brock just having nightmares it would of been a thousand times funnier, instead it ends with "YEAH BITCH!" which just... feels like something he wouldn't of put out before.
I know he has a fiance and REALLY GOOD FRIENDS!!! TWO GOOD FRIENDS!! and it's cool they've known each other for awhile, but ever sense game grumps started Arin has NOT really talked with his fans at all from what I've seen and (mostly) dodged questions regarding animations, and when he wasn't it was "Man wait till you see sequilitis on ZELDA!! or POKEAWESOME 2!!" and people kept having to wait while he and Jon just bullshitted about video games nonstop.
There are a dime a dozen let's plays out there both good and bad. Hell there is literally a channel with a series called Two Best Friends. There's nothing new or captivating about Ego+Jon aside from the fact they made some good series in the past, and it's the only reason they're followed so closely. But for those who don't care about GG and just want them to do what they became famous for, pushing something out like this just sucks.
Also I'm totally going to have to reread this then beat myself with a dictionary because I'm sure there's a handful of grammar errors or I went in circles.
Edit: And no; him knowing Jon doesn't make the argument invalid because it doesn't matter. What he does with Jon in the past 8 months of downtime and how it effects Arin is what matters.
I thought it was okay. Don't see what the big deal is.

it was decent but for that long of a wait it was severely underwhelming. I expected something completely better and more thought out. I don't mind if he takes a break from game grumps and do more animation work. And more sequalitis goddammit!

Maybe the reason I don't see this as that big of a deal is because I wasn't waiting for the animation to come out. I just saw that this was out, and it looked pretty cool to me.

Literally, the guy made a video for his fan, he though "Yeah, this is gonna be great", things happen in between, it took longer because he has a life, big deal.
He release it, and using the "It took long, he made hype, whatever it bad" argument(yeah), people are literally blaming him for releasing a cartoon.
It was entertaining, Maybe it wasn't his best, but it's not awful, and I don't think that:
