On a side note I found it hilarious that Flyingman and Pascall stopped posting after Xubs came in.
I was trying out a new invention called "going to sleep". I also expressed my desire to stop post because these threads always go the same way and eventually dissolve into blaming the "sjw" boogeyman and I don't have the energy or cares to try and understand the affinity for butts in a video game. U guys do u. [editline]8th February 2016[/editline]
This is pretty much standard SJW BS. You believe a character can't be developed and at the same time sexualized and you can't believe a girl being sexual is apart of her development as a character. Sorry a wrestler might want to act exaggerated. It must be amazing living a life where fictional videogame characters make you feel uncomfortable.
the game doesn't make me uncomfortable lol settle down a little dude...
boy you sure are reading into my post looking to pick a fight the entirety of my argument boiled down to the fact that I could see why people wanted it gone and I could see why people wanted it in but the weight of each opinion seemed varied, even if they were both valid. im not here to criticize street fighter players on their love of their characters for whatever weird reasons you guys might come up with. like I said I dooooont care that much [editline]8th February 2016[/editline] I'm more of a Chun Li fan myself.
There is no evidence of this being the case. In fact everything official from capcom has seemed to point to it being them scared of triggering fans. Besides, skull girls is more sexualized and is still T.
skullgirls was E10+ before tobacco references according to lab zero, just so you know the esrb has some weird standards, I have no doubts that capcom got scared of backlash, but they were probably worried about the initial rating they got and adjusted accordingly. even IF the costume is on-disk, it is considered downloadable content due to the season pass being purchasable already, which includes every character and costume already. Sneaky move? Perhaps, but it keeps the content from being 'unrated'
boy you sure are reading into my post looking to pick a fight the entirety of my argument boiled down to the fact that I could see why people wanted it gone and I could see why people wanted it in but the weight of each opinion seemed varied, even if they were both valid. im not here to criticize street fighter players on their love of their characters for whatever weird reasons you guys might come up with.
Art makes people uncomfortable sometimes. That is never an excuse to it. Seems like some people have some self image issues.
I think if a studio decides to change their content based on what some whiny people on the internet say, it's their fault, and they're run by cowards.
And people don't like that. Thats what the thread is about.
"But they removed my imaginary titties and that's an absolute travesty!"
Feminists seem to demonize sexuality the most nowadays.
-snip,nopoint
idk why is an animation of her ass that important
Censorship is never good. You can't just go "well I didn't like the ass slap so that makes it ok". Because when someone censors something you care about you wouldn't want people to say they don't care. You can't justify censorship.
yeah but she can be hotblooded and saucy without slapping her ass lol there's like a million and one things she could probably do that's cooler ! you even showed some clips in your video that had her doing some cool actions. like i said im not gonna see what you see lmao but boy it just seems very flimsy to me
I think you're missing the wrestler clothing. That kind of shit in wrestling is normal.
Imagine how art would be like today if the ancient greeks were scared of sexuality. I don't remember anyone getting triggered by Greek statues. If someone get's offended by attractive portrayal of someone of the same sex than they obviously have some insecurity issues.
There's a huge difference between depicting tasteful artistic nudity and depicting a woman slapping her thong-clad ass
There's a huge difference between depicting tasteful artistic nudity and depicting a woman slapping her thong-clad ass
Who decides what's tasteful? David was not considered tasteful when it was first made.
There's a huge difference between depicting tasteful artistic nudity and depicting a woman slapping her thong-clad ass
i disagree. i happen to find it tasteful in a humorous fashion, and not very sexualized. it's a wrestling outfit, and isn't anything new for the character, a wrestler. but that's a matter of opinion and i'm afraid neither of us make those kinds of rules. usually the ESRB does, or the localization team, and sometimes just social cliques do and pressure publishers to do things. and guess what? they're all human too, and have differences in opinion as all of us.
look i agree that we shouldn't be censoring stuff, but your reasoning for wanting the ass slap and non-cropped animations is so fucking weak. just be honest dude. your only reason for wanting it in is because 'it's sexy and i like it'.
look i agree that we shouldn't be censoring stuff, but your reasoning for wanting the ass slap and non-cropped animations is so fucking weak. just be honest dude. your only reason for wanting it in is because 'it's sexy and i like it'.
Or maybe some people are just against censorship because it's plane wrong. Every other reason after is just more justification. I am not personally attracted to Sexy Ryu but I would be mad if they took that out too. You saying it's only because it's "sexy and I like it" seems like a trivialization of the matter.
My only question is: who DOESN'T like a butt slap?
Butts should not be censored.
It's hilarious to me that anyone still thinks any of this has to do with self-censorship. Capcom and the DOA Devs are just playing up the easy to provoke "WOW SJWS ARE RUINING MY GAMES" crowd by blaming things on the scary sjw boogiemen. then it's reported on every gaming news site and overnight they went from unknown release outside of fans to the series, to a household name and a trending topic among gamers. Seriously. To imply that scary sjw's are taking away your games or that changing the camera angle on mika's buttslap is "ruining the artistic integrity of the character" or is the "downfall of modern art as we know it" is fucking ludicrous and we all know that.
I love this argument of "anything I don't like is trivial because I don't like it" and "even if you explain why it matters, it still doesn't matter because I don't like it therefore it's trivial". You can use this logic to justify banning basically anything that isn't a necessity to live. Let's ban all video games: "Oh, you only like video games because you enjoy the thrill of running over virtual hookers. Nothing of value was lost." Let's ban all films: "Oh, you only like films because you enjoy watching some middle-aged white guy mass-murdering a bunch of brown middle-eastern people. Nothing of value was lost." Let's ban all modern art: "Oh, you only like modern art so you can salaciously wave your dick around proclaiming how sophisticated you are. Nothing of value was lost." Let's ban all sports cars: "Oh, you don't need a Ferrari to drive around the suburbs, you just want a fast car with a loud engine so you can proclaim to the world how small your dick is. Nothing of value was lost." Notice how every argument devolves into insulting the opponent for their sexuality and assuming that they're male? As long as you don't need something to live and there are white men in the world who enjoy that something, you can use this argument to justify getting rid of it. Isn't that hilarious?
look i agree that we shouldn't be censoring stuff, but your reasoning for wanting the ass slap and non-cropped animations is so fucking weak. just be honest dude. your only reason for wanting it in is because 'it's sexy and i like it'.
I'm not sure if you read it, but did you see Jinx's post on the last page? There are people who like stuff like this for other reasons besides "it's sexy and I like it."
It's kinda creepy tbqh
Once again, the only possible reason somebody could like something you don't is because they're "creepy" and "it's sexy and I like it" and no other possible reason.
Is it wrong to care about this? I don't want both things I like and things I dislike edited or precensored. Doesn't matter if its for feminism or for god.
no of course not, artstic integrity is incredibly important. changing the angle of a camera on a buttslap, however, is not ruining the artstic integrity of mika or street fighter 5.

Your hobby of dressing up in a wehrmacht/gestapo uniform probably offends some people. Those offended people should just not do it themselves and let you enjoy your harmless fun.
i was more talking about doa lmao. and all those comedians are acting like children if they really think a "PC culture" exist anywhere but in their heads.
It's nice to know the foremost comedians of our age are a bunch of crackpot loonies then.
i was more talking about doa lmao. and all those comedians are acting like children if they really think a "PC culture" exist anywhere but in their heads.
you should try playing devil's advocate with your own opinions more often because this is a bit disturbing how easily you're discounting their points of view
I hope you guys realize capcom did this because of the esrb's rating system dlc content, however, is not rated by the esrb, hence Laura's slutty slut costume capcom deliberately did this to avoid an M rating as the DOA series usually gets if you're too ass pained over 'self-censorship' of something that capcom couldn't technically allow in a T rated game, install the camera mod that restores it then
Did they actually say this? Skullgirls is only rated T
you should try playing devil's advocate with your own opinions more often because this is a bit disturbing how easily you're discounting their points of view
oh no no, i fully understand their points of view. But again. to quote NiandraLades
I think this is an interesting one - If you're against political correctness, why would you care what those who are in favour of it think? In fact, if people label you as offensive, couldn't you work that to your benefit? Maybe I'm being slightly naive with this Whenever a comedian talks against political correctness, a lot of people on this forum are always supportive of it, which to me shows there's many people on both sides. I know the internet isn't a single person so generalizing is useless, but sometimes it feels like people can't make up their mind whether or not SJWs (can't think of a better word describe the mindset/group) are this great and all powerful force with huge influence or these loser teenagers/young adults who spend all day on Tumblr You guys make some good points and I do take them into consideration but I also think it's funny to tell people to grow a thicker skin when comedians should be able to defend themselves and also brush off criticism if they don't think it has any weight to it
If anyone should be able to grow thicker skin about this oh so scary "PC culture" that's apparently SO rampant and SO bad that they're now refusing to play in colleges, it should be Comedians who are prone to "offensive" jokes. [editline]oops[/editline] wow just realized i've been spelling that mods name wrong this whole time, oops!

Here's what you posted:
i was more talking about doa lmao. and all those comedians are acting like children if they really think a "PC culture" exist anywhere but in their heads.
Emphasis mine. And here's what I responded with:
It's nice to know the foremost comedians of our age are a bunch of crackpot loonies then. I'm sure you're more of an expert on the stand-up comedy industry than the most successful and respected stand-up comedians in the world.
So you claimed that John Cleese, Jerry Seinfield and Chris Rock are "acting like children" and "think a 'PC Culture' exists...in their heads". Which seems to imply that you think John Cleese, Jerry Seinfield and Chris Rock are either insane in the membrane or have no idea what their talking about with regards to their own field of stand-up comedy. My post was incredulous in nature- mostly because you claimed in your post that the most well-known comedians in the world know nothing about stand-up comedy, which is like stating that Stephen Hawking knows nothing about theoretical physics.

Why are you posting what somebody else said in response to my posts? I'm not steelman111 and we don't share the exact same opinions.
So you claimed that John Cleese, Jerry Seinfield and Chris Rock are "acting like children" and "think a 'PC Culture' exists...in their heads". Which seems to imply that you think John Cleese, Jerry Seinfield and Chris Rock are either insane in the membrane or have no idea what their talking about with regards to their own field of stand-up comedy.
lets stop right here for a second. I don't think any of them are insane, where would you even get that? nor do i think they don't understand their own job field. They're all great Comedians that i've loved for awhile. But for any of them to imply there's some sort of rampant PC culture that prevents them from playing at colleges because its SO bad is absolutely ludicrous.
Why are you posting what somebody else said in response to my posts? I'm not steelman111 and we don't share the exact same opinions. Facepunch is not a hivemind, we all have different opinions on different things.
Again I never claimed FP was some kind of hivemind? I'm using Steelman's post as an example. That kind of rhetoric is the same type of thought process those comedians go through when they decide this "PC culture" is too much for them to preform under. It's not. Christ on a cracker, man. [editline]8th February 2016[/editline] And to bring it all back home, This oh so rampant "PC Culture" that caused these devs to engage in self censorhip is complete bullshit. They know exactly what they're doing. This is nothing but a powerplay to drum up free and easy publicity. Now they have diehard SJW haters who are going to day 1 buy DOA from Playasia as some form of protest against these boogiemen SJW's. It's really sad anyone's falling for it.
