But again. to quote NiandraLades If anyone should be able to grow thicker skin about this oh so scary "PC culture" that's apparently SO rampant and SO bad that they're now refusing to play in colleges, it should be Comedians who are prone to "offensive" jokes. [editline]oops[/editline] wow just realized i've been spelling that mods name wrong this whole time, oops!
What point are you actually trying to make here? You're quoting NirandraLades, who made a completely different argument to yours about a completely different issue. You started by making a point about "artistic integrity" and then went on a rant about how everyone on Facepunch thinks there's some massive "SJW" conspiracy before stating that the most well-known comedians in the world know jack-shit about comedy and accuse anyone attempting to converse with you of "picking a fight". You seem to be the one who's attempting to "pick a fight" by arbitrarily clumping everyone who disagrees with you into a single metaphorical wad of tissue paper and cherry-picking posts in order to attack the strawman you've constructed.
nope not even close dude. but thank you for picking apart each of my post with a stupidly condescending attitude to try and pick a fight. Now, whether or not they can, well, that's not the important part. The important part is that they're presented in a way that people at least think they are. Whoever is to blame for this, though, is up for debate. It's like the soccer moms of the 90s. In the long run, they'll only be remembered for their stupidity.
lets stop right here for a second. I don't think any of them are insane, where would you even get that? nor do i think they don't understand their own job field. They're all great Comedians that i've loved for awhile. But for any of them to imply there's some sort of rampant PC culture that prevents them from playing at colleges because its SO bad is absolutely ludicrous. Again I never claimed FP was some kind of hivemind? I'm using Steelman's post as an example. That kind of rhetoric is the same type of thought process those comedians go through when they decide this "PC culture" is too much for them to preform under. It's not. Christ on a cracker, man. [editline]8th February 2016[/editline] And to bring it all back home, This oh so rampant "PC Culture" that caused these devs to engage in self censorhip is complete bullshit. They know exactly what they're doing. This is nothing but a powerplay to drum up free and easy publicity. Now they have diehard SJW haters who are going to day 1 buy DOA from Playasia as some form of protest against these boogiemen SJW's. It's really sad anyone's falling for it.
You're strawmaning the arguments of anyone who disagrees with you. There is no rhetoric here except the rhetoric being made by the actual people who are actually employing it. Multiple ways of reaching the same conclusion isn't 'rhetoric'. Steelman's post isn't representative of anyone else's opinion but Steelman's. Let's think of it this way, do you think that none of these people have personal experience to back up their beliefs? Did they just arbitrarily decide one day that "PC culture" is now a thing that they care about for no reason at all?
And to bring it all back home, This oh so rampant "PC Culture" that caused these devs to engage in self censorhip is complete bullshit. They know exactly what they're doing. Do you think that the developers of triple-A games like "Street Fighter" are going to get increased sales because of something like this? I think your vastly overestimating the number of "Anti-PC" people in the world if you think that a Japanese Developer would pull a massive conspiracy like this in order to increase sales like your suggesting.

Said conspiracy also involves infiltrating the ESRB and the American Localization Company who translated the game, all in order to serendipitously change the angle of a single cutscene.

Anyone can use it in any context to insult anyone they like (similar to how a Fox News anchor might use the term "comie socialist liberal" to insult anyone they like). It would be much better to describe the specific behavior you mean when you use the term or, baring that, use a more specific term like "regressive" (from the Bill Maher discussion on the subject) or "PC" (which is also misused by a lot of people, but at least people will know what you're talking about).

If the argument is "does calling people 'pussy' make me seem immature" then yes, it is an argument. The reason we try not to use abrasive language isn't because it makes us right or wrong, it's because screaming obscenities at somebody isn't likely to convince them to reconsider their viewpoint on any issue. Someone can call you a fucking nigger cunt faggot kike and still have a good argument as to why Bernie sanders should be president 2016. Moving the argument to focuses on the words being used rather than the point being shown is another example of the problems with "Safe spaces" or why trying to make anything, an argument or a game specifically not to offend is bad.

I don't like the sexualization of Street Fighter. It used to be a game I play with my family, but now I just feel awkward when I see pretty much any of the female cast, especially Laura and Mika. I feel that there could have been better characters used or different ways to represent them, and there are a lot of people who feel the same way. It's not a matter or sexism or censorship; it's just making the game not entirely disgusting.
Are you seriously trying to tell me that you don't think the perspective of the audience matters in media?
The perspective of the audience definitely matters in media.
