The starting price for a Macbook Pro is $1100, while the starting price for a Surface Book is $1500. Unless that fancy touch screen of yours is worth $400 to you, I'm going to say that Macbooks have "more value for a lower price"
It's not just a "fancy touch screen" though, it's a full blown drawing tablet. A decent drawing tablet alone will run you over $100 and that's without a screen built into it.
windows 8 was fine for anybody with a functioning brain that had the ability to use the magic of deduction to find where their new settings had gone. similar to windows vista, people just use windows 8 as an excuse to brag about how stupid they are and how little effort they actually put in to using day-to-day electronics.
microsoft still sucks though

Some options have been hidden though, it becomes really apparent on Windows 10 (the whole update thingy).
I think it's stupid that you need an entirely separate tool just to disable undesired updates.
The Arc Touch Bluetooth Mouse is a novel concept for a portable mouse, and Microsoft's optical mouse technology is very proven and reliable.
I have one of these as a companion to my surface pro, it is awesome. The vibration feedback for the virtual mouse wheel is A++, and the 'snap flat to turn off' is intuitive. Best portable mouse I've ever owned, hands down. Also most expensive, but it has proven that it was worth the money.

Similar to vista, except vista sent you damn insane
They went a bit overboard with all their security allowance
My 360 has never red ringed... and it's an original model.
I remember my friend got an Xbox 360 a few years back and did pretty much anything to convince me to buy a 360 when I really wanted to get a PS3.
I told him one day that I don't feel comfortable paying for Xbox Live every now and then when PS3 has free online. I'm fine with a hassle here and there, but atleast it's free and I can understand any coughs in the system. His response to me was "Either you play for free with shitty online, or you pay a little bit every year and get GOOD online!"
Today's outcome is that I still have my PS3 and he sold his Xbox with all his games, because it was getting heavy on the wallet.
Yeah Microsoft does suck but OMG the Lumia 950 is sexy asf.

Huh? My gold sub expired a long time ago and I just said "I'll take a break from online for a while"
Xbox 360 has enough single player experiences despite it being the most multiplayer-centric console of 7th gen that you can still play without gold and have fun

What seperate tool are you talking about, because literally everything I wanted to do in 8, I was able to do it the exact same way as in 7, sans change start-up programs (which imo was improved in 8).
[editline]7th October 2015[/editline]
Like seriously, 8 is such a band-wagon thing to hate that you see a whole bunch of tech illiterate people laugh about to act like they have some computer knowledge
"Gahaha, Bing is terrible, right guys?"
All the criticisms I hear about these kinds of things is "because it sucks," without any knowledgable elaboration why.
Windows 8 also introduced Win + X power menu, which is infinitely more useful than the start menu was for admin tasks.
It instantly made Windows 7 feel clunky now when I use it.
Windows 8 also introduced Win + X power menu, which is infinitely more useful than the start menu was for admin tasks.
If I could chuck in powershell/cmd files into a jumplist on it, damn it could be a lot more powerfull

Because of that, as well as the start menu, I've used the windows key more the past few months of having 8.1/10 than ever before in any previous version of windows. I wanted to upgrade to 10 on my desktop partly because of Win + X.
the point of "fuck this" was reached for me when I noticed that there is no way to change falsely saved WiFi passwords except for registry manipulation on Win 8 because the took away like 80% of the network configuration dialogues to make it "tablet-y".
Or maybe they hid them away. Anyway that's exemplary for the design choices behind that OS and that's why it sucked.
10 is even worse about this. I can access most of 7's settings but I have to jump though so many hoops, hurdles, and menus just to get to them.
They really want you to buy surface. They really, really want you to. In fact, Microshit spends more time and money on trying to get you to buy their other hardware than they do anything else. The fucking start menu of Windows 10 has adverts for Xbox, Windows games, and Office all before I can access my saved apps and folders. The whole thing is a glorified advertisement.
I am strangely in the minority for hating on Windows 10, but please, stick with 7. It is so much better, and if it weren't for the newest updates fucking it over and the promise of Direct X 12, I would switch back.

I completely forgot about that. Because guess what? You can delete them.

Adverts for Xbox and Windows? Example, please.
Advirtisement for Office? Yeah, they kind of want you to use their services (same applies to above).
And... Holy shit, you can get rid of anything you want on the start menu in 5 seconds.
Like if these are the complaints you're coming up with for 10, you're desperately grasping at straws.

What settings are harder to access in 10 than 7?
Also you can get rid of the advertisements.
Finally, Win10 is less resource intensive, looks more modern and runs like a modern product should. It's actually quite a bit better than 7.

But I never said that Windows 8 sucks if that's what you thought I ment, I even liked Window Vista more than XP when I had my first PC built. The boot times were insane.
This is the tool, I was talking about the forced driver updates, which were optional in previous versions of Windows.

Otherwise I always liked metro in Windows 8, I liked to pin important programs on it.

You are being a little bit too defensive about this in my mind, if some people don't like the OS you are using, or if they complain about some flaws then you should probably just talk about something else instead :v:

this is just... objectively wrong on so many levels
[editline]8th October 2015[/editline]
It's especially easy to navigate settings when you can type it in start and press enter and it'll literally select the setting for you
What's wrong with Windows 7?
also, I'm looking for adverts on my start menu, and I'm not seeing these supposed 'advertisements' you speak of
What's wrong with Windows 7?
windows 7 is amazing, and theres a lot of stuff (well, honestly, barely that much) that w10 needs to fix that's like w7, but w10 is much lighter and faster, and search is GREATLY improved (Not talking about cortana), not only that, but Edge is a pretty excellent browser nix it not having extensions like chrome.
I don't really miss anything about 7 though. UI is so much nicer on 10, especially when you fully use the new win+tab and virtual desktops, email program and all that junk
I literally use Windows classic theme on Windows 7. UI is a far backseat for me. I like that it is as out of my way as possible. I remember getting my asus laptop with Windows 8 and it took a couple of days to remove all the fluff. Searching for shit was hard as fuck, and it reset my default programs all the time, so I'd have to sit through the shitty win 8 deticated image viewer start up time, then have to use the Windows button to get back to the desktop, then go up in the corner to close it. Did the same thing with PDFs. Talk about a pain in the ass!

personally I hated 7's "aero" theme as well, it looked ugly as sin, classic was so much better
8 had tons of UI issues according to like, everyone, too, thankfully 10 fixed that
[editline]8th October 2015[/editline]
I'm so glad the age of "3D / GLASS" UI is over
making UI look like glass or shaded at all looks beyond dumb as fuck, it's painful to the eyes
windows 10's ui is literally just "Flat color. nothing else"
What's wrong with Windows 7?
It's not so much that there's anything wrong with it, its just getting old. Microsoft now considers it in extended support, which means nothing but bare minimum security and stability updates. Much like XP was.
Also no native support for USB 3.0 and other things that 8 and 10 added.
