It wasn't him in the car. Im pretty sure he just reuploaded it.
EDIT:
There's a news article on Daily Mail, take with a mountain of salt considering its daily mail.
ah yeah, huffpost posted that in their article. can't believe daily mail actually got the source better.
apparently this continues after

What's your name?
"... my name is not TJ!"
again the guy in the car could be "TJ" but all the video really shows is a copper who has a hard on for power imo.
Nah, it shows that the guy is a moron because if he complied with the officers command to get out of the car when told he wouldn't have had to have the cars windows smashed to force him out.
Having no context at the start of the video, to me anyway, lowers the credibility of the guy recording.
If I had a guy shouting at me and beating the fuck out of my only safety barrier, I wouldn't wanna get out.
Doesn't matter if he's got a badge or not, we're both humans and in this case the cop's being agressive as fuck.
He probably wouldn't have been shouting at you and beating the fuck out of your safety barrier if you complied instead of being a fuckwit trying to waste everyones time.
[editline]18th September 2016[/editline]
The police officers are going to get you out either way, why bother wasting your time and their time while making yourself look like the cunt and giving the officers more reason to be aggressive with you?
Like I swear sovereign citizens and whatever the hell else can turn a routine 2 minute traffic stop into a 20+ minute ordeal, what the fuck do you expect when the police officers get suspicious and want you out of the car.
even if it was a case of mistaken identity, just get out of the fucking car.
I think the officer cutting away at the front window was hilariously unnecessary. I thought all emergency responders would have one of those window breaking tools just for this occasion. Like, even if he did saw through the front windscreen, what were they gonna do? Go in there and get cut up themselves and the suspect? Surprised he didn't just pepper spray him through the open window, enough to force him to get out. I don't know, a lot of other options were available and he chose just about the poorest one.

Yeaaah I don't think pepper spray hotboxing the car would have been a safer solution
Jesus christ some people in this thread. Context is everything and this video shows barely any of it but I doubt this was the start of the interaction. The driver has been caught for driving while disqualified (you can hear the policeman say that in the video) which in the UK (and where this video is shot) is an arrestable offence. If the guy isn't going to get out of the car then the police have every fucking right to smash the windshield if you're not exiting the vehicle after being asked to several times.
My point was why smash the WINDSHIELD. He should be smashing a door window so he can open the door to get the guy out. Smashing the windshield does nothing but property damage. It's not like he can just remove an entire windshield by hand and then drag a guy out through the empty space.

He was probably going to take the keys/unlock the door.
He was probably going to take the keys/unlock the door.
How? From where he was smashing that would have been hilariously difficult.
Honestly guys like yeah sure the dude was being a cunt and acting shady as fuck, but you can at least see why this video is labelled "power tripping" cop, right? That cop wasn't thinking this plan through. He wouldn't have been able to practically get the door open from that razor sharp hole he was cutting through. It seemed to me like he was trying to scare the dude, and when that didn't work, he threw a tantrum and kept going. There were so many ways to get him out of the car, and going apeshit on his windshield wasn't the brightest one.

I do see how this can be seen as the guy going overboard, but I'm assuming that there was some reason behind it. It's not a common thing, at least to my knowledge, for police to just break shit needlessly.

I think that there's no good reason for a cop to act like this. I'm not against the very act of the cop smashing a window to get a non-compliant person out of the car, but they need to behave professionally. Stop and think. Go through the car door window. Don't start screaming and trying to cut through the windshield - that's not going to work.
I understand cops have stressful jobs and that you can't always stop yourself from losing your cool, but there's certain professional standards I believe cops always have to meet due to the nature of their jobs, and this cop didn't meet them.
I'm really curious, could someone who's more knowledgeable about this sort of stuff clarify what the standard procedure is to forcibly remove someone from a locked car? Do cops usually carry a tool to easily smash a window, or is there some other method?

So because there's no context, it's okay to assume is the policeman acting by the books, but it's not okay to assume that the policeman is being a dick?
It's not uncommon for cops to have to break into cars to get suspects, but smashing the windshield?
Unless this had been going on for while before this video this is an absolutely ridiculous reaction on the officer's behalf. If he were that aggressive I sure as fuck wouldn't get out either, I'd be scared shitless.
Pretty sure they were standing around a while before this. Cop definitely did overreact but it's clear from the person recording that they were being as annoying a cunt as possible. He's been told he's been disqualified from driving yet the guy recording spouts bullshit like "I've got a license and insurance" like that changes anything.
Fuckwit should have listened to the officer from the start instead of antagonising.
Jeez, that was embarrassing. That cop couldn't even break the windows.
Jeez, that was embarrassing. That cop couldn't even break the windows.
side windows are hard as fuck to break. notice how easily he broke the windshield compared to the side windows mate

Uh, yes.
He wasnt complying with the Police.
Dont want your shit fucked dont fuck with the dudes telling you to do shit.

Whats your point? He got into the car didnt he?

No, the dude bailed out of the car. I'm really curious to see what would have happened if the dude stayed in the car. Would that cop keep screaming and trying to cut through the windshield, or would they reevaluate that this plan probably wasn't going to work, and go for the car door windows?
For all we know, the Police Officer could be a Rookie, new on the team, and still getting the hang of the job.
Suddenly this guy starts recording you, not listening. Of course you will start to get angry and annoyed, and then you usually forget what you learnt before hand.
Whats your point?
The point is that both parties are in the wrong.
You can tell this cop isn't thinking clearly simply by the fact he's breaking at the windshield. If he was doing things by the book he would've broken the door window at the corner like every other police officer because that's where the lock is as well as being the easiest point for the glass to actually break; and you're just going to hurt yourself and the perp by fucking around with shattered windshield.

if you easily get angry and annoyed you shouldn't be a police officer.

If you know how to do it right, it's pretty easy to bust open a side window. Which is why I can see the cop acting out of line. Either that, or he wasn't trained to do such a thing.
(Go to the 2 minute mark to see how the window breaks.)

So I just kinda read up on the concept of sovereign citizens. I think my biggest question is "why"
These people seem to be making things difficult for others unnecessarily.
For further context I'm asking why would they do this if they actually LIVE in said country, I mean if you're a visitor then I guess the sovereign citizen makes sense to some point, but I don't understand why the hell people would want to argue with a police officer trying to do their job.
I love how people are making assumptions based on a 1 minute time frame.
This situation could have been going on for 30mins to an hour for all we know.

Eh?
He clearly tried to break the side window but it didnt work so he went for the more fragile window, and used a knife on it precisely so he wouldnt injure himself or the dude.
And even then, the scale of their wrongdoings are different. One is going about procedure differently, the other disobeying direct orders from law enforcers.
Sorry for the facebook video, but;

Soverign Citizens are the logical conclusion of most conspiracy theorist.
Except they carry guns, and will shoot cops or anyone 'not protecting the consitution' at any cost.
[editline]20th September 2016[/editline]
Its because of a Soverign Citizen teaching his kid this shit that an officer was randomly gunned down in the early 90s which lead to cops universally wearing body armor.
Man those side windows can take a fair amount of abuse.
I was actually a bit surprised that they managed to break the front window, but not the sides.
fuck the police ~ council estate chav
No one looks good in this video. The guy should have got the fuck out of the car, but the officer was angry and unprofessional. "Sir, if you don't get out of the car, I am going to break the window and remove you from the car," would have made him look so much better here.
I wonder how much animosity towards the police would go away if you would just actually fucking obey their orders and make use of your legal right to fight the "obviously" unjust police interaction in court.
I'm just confused that he abandoned the side window and tried literally carving out his windshield.
I've seen videos where the cop only needed to grab the top of the glass and apply a small amount of force to shatter the whole damn thing. What, he afraid the driver was gonna close the window on his fingers?
