It's like that one guy who pirated shovel Knight then have 20 dollars to the Devs in person to make up for it. I have 120 hours in BoTW and I don't regret getting it. But once this runs smoothly I'm definitely going to play that a lot more. Nintendo definitely deserves the money for making a great game but I'm not gonna let that stop me from emulating it
I would love to play through this game again with cheats. The one thing I would absolutely love to do is to spawn in (end-game item spoiler) [sp]the Goddess Bow (or was it the bow of light?)[/sp] right from the get-go.

There are save editors too.
If its possible to get mouselook working, I bet splatoon would be incredible [sp](inkredible)[/sp] to play with a mouse and keyboard. Tho I have no idea if the online could even work at all
What is this nonsense?? All of Nintendo's consoles were competitive or industry leading up until the Gamecube's release. On top of that Nintendo is one of the only manufacturers to get Nvidia's Tegra X1 SOCs. They're also one of the biggest game companies on Earth. Nvidia or ATI would jump for joy at the chance to give them flagship chips.
Hey, don't forget the GameBoy. It released in 1989 with a monochrome display, and already the same year you had Atari Lynx which had a full blown color LCD screen, and the next year Sega GameGear got released. It took them 12 years to make a comparable system; GameBoy Advanced in 2001.

I would buy the physical copy and then play this version on my pc, but I'm afraid of the legal implications. It's such a grey area that I don't know what to make of it.
The Gameboy also had 10x the battery life of any other handheld. Industry leading in a different way.
I was thinking more in terms of hardware and technology leading. Both the GameGear and Lynx were simply ahead of its time and too demanding for batteries. GameGear used a fluorescent lamp as back light for the LCD screen. If white LEDs went into production just 5 years earlier, it would double the battery life (you can find videos on Youtube) and I'm sure it would be much more successful.

The gamegear was nothing special as it was a Sega Master System, just shrunk down. The Lynx being mostly the same thing. Even today it's possible to make a portable PS4, like the gamegear it would be taking existing high grade tech and making it portable, and it would suffer the same thing. Abysmal battery life and portability. Edit It'd be nice if you gave me a reason for disagreeing :v:
Edit It'd be nice if you gave me a reason for disagreeing :v:
Well, I disagree that "GameGear was nothing special as it was a Sega Master System, just shrunk down". For a 1990 device, that sounds pretty good to me, and I already mentioned Nintendo didn't have anything similar until GameBoy Advanced in 2001. Sure it was bigger than GameBoy and you couldn't put it into your back pocket, but it was not big AF, and it showed you could put a decent home console experience in a handheld of a decent size. Lynx was fat as hell though, like GameGear + GameBoy in one, so I agree with that one. It failed on both fronts; the battery and the size. Also it looks bad, like a cheap Chinese radio. And it still sucked, 6 AA's for 3 or so hours and a horrible screen. Nintendo could've easily just miniaturized the NES hardware and slapped an LCD screen or something and called it a day. It still would've sold well, I think. But instead they made a product around the idea of portability and it was better for it.

Reading about it; it had a ridiculous price, 250-300$ compared to GameGear's 150$, not to mention GameBoy's price. When comparing those three devices(GameGear, Lynx and Turbo), in the end GameGear seems to have made a good balance of size, performance and price. I would compare Switch to the GameGear; bigger, more powerful, less portable, and Nintendo 3DS to GameBoy; smaller, less powerful, but more portable. Lynx and Turbo seem to be the portable PS4 overkills you mentioned, GameGear not so much.

It's such a grey area that I don't know what to make of it.
It depends on your countries law but in most places, unless you make your own ROM copy of the game you are still committing a crime by downloading an illegal copy from the internet. In the end nobody will actually bother you for playing emulators. Should just be careful where you get the ROMs, even if you own the game.
Also, if you want to make your own ISO from a bought copy, you need a homebrew WiiU to extract it as the disc format is unique, you cannot do it on PC.
CEMU 1.7.5 has been released and now Zelda is playable at a stable 4k 30FPS It seems like it's finally almost at the stage where it's suitable for a first playthrough

It's mostly graphical quirks to work out it seems.

The random crashes haven't stopped but the camera softlock is gone thank god.
AMD :(
It's amazing that a newly released console game has an emulated version that is already looking like the best looking and definitive version to play with in just less than a year.
The popularity also plays in. I think if it wasn't for it being BOTW, there wouldn't be such a huge progress in such a timespan. A lot of people want to play it.
Is Smash 4 properly functioning?
Is Smash 4 properly functioning?
Yes, it works perfectly iirc

Mapping a mouse/keyboard to a controller?

Works well enough.

Usually when you're talking about emulating a game it's for games from like, 2004, that the company isn't even making money on anymore 'cause it's not on any store shelves, digital or otherwise. I've never had to ask myself how I feel about emulation of a game that came out this year :v: I guess if you've bought a copy of BotW then you're morally fine? :v:
It's amazing that a newly released console game has an emulated version that is already looking like the best looking and definitive version to play with in just less than a year.
It's not emulating a newly released console. This is emulating the Wii u version.
It's not emulating a newly released console. This is emulating the Wii u version.
I think you misread, he said a newly released console game. Which this is, even though it's the wiiu version.
