You gotta account for shipping costs and such now. This is hardware.
Shipping is not even included in the price, shipping is like another 7-8 euros on top of that. EDIT: total at 63.79 EUR
When it comes to putting in shipping details, unless there is a 3 letter way of typing my UK county. I can't put it in the state box, and can't continue. Good. [editline]when[/editline] Ok it converted it to long-form after i abbreviated it to 3 letters. How dumb. [editline]whe2n[/editline] Shipping is £6.07.
Valve really knows how to make me wanna buy stuff...
Eeek! 60 dollars. I'd rather get steam link for the same price. Too much for me, oh well.
Are you for real? L4D3, Half Life 3 and Source 2 are officially in development. Proof and hints everywhere.
i don't really care about l4d3, and source 2 doesn't mean much to me, even as a game developer either after all of the issues with 2007, and 2013 + steampipe breaking most mods could you link to some hl3 articles or something? it's vaporware afaik and my question to the rest of fp is, if you don't like something a company is doing do you just keep blindly supporting them? i mean what do you do? why is it dumb?
Gah I want to order it but I'll be moving before it ships and for some reason they want the address at purchase. Fuck it, I'll get one, if I can't change the address I'll just cancel. Edit: For those in a similar situation, yes, there's a way to change your address before it ships.
Looks really impressive but I'll stick with my Dualshock controller for now. I'm interested in how it performs with fighting games.
$50, its actually less than a PS4 or Xbone Controller new :v:
And if you want wireless for either of those you're forced to buy a 15$ adaptor, and batteries because of how fast the xbone controller eats them
I highly doubt it works as well as they're advertising. The entire gameplay segments were more snappy in reaction than you'd expect from PC controls. I'm going to wait till this comes out, I've got my PS3 controller working on my comp so I really don't need this but it'll be interesting.
This thing has been in development for what, like two years? I imagine there's been at least one person working with it for most if not all of that time. Two years with one control system can make you really good at it.
Plus, wouldn't showing the controller 'playing' the game whilst it's actually some other control system be a pretty big case of false advertising?
You gotta account for shipping costs and such now. This is hardware. Plus taxes and whatnot. This isn't software, these are physical products, and with it come extra costs.
If it was 55 Euro with no taxes/toll/shipping added, I would be game, but I REALLY doubt that will be the case, and if all three are added to that, it will suddenly be 100 Euro for me. [editline]4th June 2015[/editline]
Plus, wouldn't showing the controller 'playing' the game whilst it's actually some other control system be a pretty big case of false advertising?
Remember the "pho-dographer" ad?
Fuck it, pre-ordered both, the controller and link because PS4 games cost a lot of money so my living room TV rarely ever gets used.
is it silly that i just don't want to give valve my money anymore? i think i would have readily bought this in the past, but i just don't like where the company is going and what they're focusing on anymore, so i don't think i'd want to support them by purchasing this it's a great controller, though, that's for sure maybe that makes me a curmudgeon, but i think customer loyalty means something, and every time i see more stuff come out of valve, it makes me wish someone from there was working on hl2ep3 even if it was just one developer i know they're different teams, but idk that probably sounds stupid to a lot of fpers but i dont know what other action you take when you don't really like an organization anymore
I've started getting tired of people complaining about HL3. It's not even that big of a deal anymore, and to have HL3 be a deserving sequel to HL2, you'd need some sort of "hook" to make it worth "Best game ever", like what HL2 did with the advanced physics and graphics that are able to be played at affordable prices, amazing story and storytelling designs, and all that stuff. Truth is, there is way more demand for Dota 2 and CS:GO than it is for HL3 right now. The pros and cons of keeping themselves to the stuff they have over the stuff they could have (developing Dota and CS vs developing dota and cs AND work on a big project like HL3) outweigh it easily. Even if there was more demand for HL3, I'd say both Valve AND the fans that want HL3 would be shooting themselves in the foot because of what I said earlier. The game would probably not be a worthy sequel to HL2. I'd much rather have Valve work on their current products, making them as good as they can, than to have them divide their workforce and have everything work at half pace. Yes, its a bummer that we don't get HL3, but honestly? I have a tonne more fun with Dota 2 and CS:GO nowadays, and most likely forever will have a lot more fun with those. Ontopic: that price difference is kind of a bummer... But I'm also kind of on the fence with how the controller works. Would it be practical and not feel extremely awkward to use in games? It doesn't looks as easy as it did in the video. I'd say for games that involve precise mouse control, that wouldn't be a great choice.
Does look cool. Hope I can give it a try somewhere.
I'll be happy to have this replace my pro u controller [editline]4th June 2015[/editline] I think it's hilarious how many people in the steam discussion page cried out "just use the XBOX CONTROLLER it's all you need" as if it's a mystical answer to the universe I'm sorry but the xbox controller sucks and you can't rebind it playing any games with shooting in it doesn't work for anyone with a controller. 100% of the time it's a terrible experience against mice users.
I'd love to have this + the Link for the TV in my bedroom. I'd like to try out the controller first though, hopefully they have demonstrations at Best Buy or Gamestop, though from what I've heard those that have tried it the touchpads actually work surprisingly well.

EA games makes a whole bunch of shit products, with borderline scamming dlc, but that doesn't stop me from buying their product if they happen to make something decent once every 5 years.
xbox one controller is the best gamepad you can buy for now
it's pretty good but the battery life is meh, and the pro u controller definitely has a better build for the xbox it's absolutely fantastic but for any pc user it's pretty awful. xbone controller doesn't even have a wireless adaptor from what I know so you have to use the crappy micro b port on the back that shimmies and shammies, threatening to turn the controller off, and the xbox 360 controller is not nearly as good as the xbone controller. joy2key isn't even slightly an option because even with fine tuned settings it's very clunky, making it a giant headache to set up, and doesn't even work for most games xbox controller for pc users is a headache
So the store is forcing me to fill out a state, but I'm British (A previous page has stated I need to provide a UK address, and not a PO Box) In these situations I put County there instead, but it'll only accept 3 characters I think I'll wait until they sort this out

Then It detects your address with proper county. It is really strange.
Still looks awful and will no doubt play like a normal controller but whatever
Looks good, but I would probably have to try it before I would buy it as I already have an Xbox 360 controller that works just fine.
I got myself a nice 360 controller adapter from china and now I'm just using the xbox controllers I had from years ago, with fresh batteries. I don't need anything else so why even bother with another gimmick [sp]unless it goes on sale[/sp]

Wow the Steam machines are cheaper now.

I don't need anything else so why even bother with another gimmick [sp]unless it goes on sale[/sp]
because people on PC want something more than the same exact thing pro u controller, ps, xbox, they're all exactly the same controller with a different layout. Every controller on amazon and newegg are based off this lay out, only they're really shitty copies and the worst thing is that they all use xinput with adaptor, and none of them have actual extensive PC support outside of games working with them as intended.

This is primarily meant to work in such a way that any PC game you can think of can be play with it.
