Fuuck now I have to pre order throough EB Games :suicide:
I preordered one. I'll see how it goes but I still feel like I might end up using my xbone controller.
but you've mentioned an entirely different circumstance that has nothing to do with brand loyalty and compared it to just producing shit
producing shit and producing things people like for years, and then dropping that portion of your fanbase and not giving them any heads up as to what you're doing about that franchise are 2 distinct things
you cannot compare them, they are logically different things
The point is that, i can still be unhappy with what they are putting their time/money towards, and be happy with the products they do produce i like and buy them.
Thats literally what you asked for in your post,
just don't like where the company is going and what they're focusing on
But even you've moved the goalpost you still make a shitty argument,
EA produced C&C games for years, and then dropped that portion of their fanbase, not giving them any heads up as what they where doing with the franchise.
We're still wainting for warcraft 4, and blizzard is silent about that, in pretty much the same way valve is.

at least there are lith-ion AA's right?
for the vive wand, it doesn't feel bad to hold.
And that's still expected to come out in 2015, (I was told last month).
xbox one controller is the best gamepad you can buy for now
The Xbone controller is a step down from the 360 controller in every way except the D-Pad.
And both of them still use analog sticks, which is the exact reason you'd want to buy this instead.
Steam link is cool but the wireless in my house sucks. Even though hotline miami is that pixel art stuff, it looked like pixelated garbage when I tried to stream it
Looks neat, I might pick it up when it goes a bit cheaper, so far my DS3 still works.
Since day 1 of when this controller was introduced, I've just been thinking how the fuck I could claw grip with this while playing Dark Souls.

i thought it was 54,99 + 7-8€ shipping :(
And if you want wireless for either of those you're forced to buy a 15$ adaptor, and batteries because of how fast the xbone controller eats them
The dualshock 4 is bluetooth capable.
So the only thing I'm not entirely sure of is Steam-exclusivity. If I wanted to boot up something through GOG or an older retail game, I'd have to set up a shortcut through Steam then run it through that, right? From what I've seen, I can't just boot up a game and expect to have a base level of use like a 360 controller outside of Steam. If it was like an outside-program type thing then that'd be great, but I haven't heard anything about that.
Does it still say "Coming soon" for anyone else?
It costs 55 euro over here in Europe, no thanks Valve. Europe is getting screwed over again with the "dollars = euro" conversion.
Actually thanks to the EU (Thanks EU) the usd is worth almost as much as the euro
I'd take wired over batteries any day
Wish there was a wired version

You can plug it in with a wire and use it.

That thing looks like a mini usb port to me.
not to mention the prototypes were all wired as well.

mini usb ports are so much better

Isn't it because of VAT in the EU?

If I read it like this it seems reasonable...

you miss the context entirely then, this isn't me saying i have no interest in any of their intellectual property, when i clearly do
it makes me wish someone from there was working on hl2ep3 even if it was just one developer
you could conveniently and blissfully ignore this for your argument, but it's flawed to begin with, if i had previously cared about valve as a company, what was it that made me care about them? so how is my argument shitty? because you don't like it?
It'd be great if they patched in an official split-screen mode for L4D1&2 on PC to go along with this controller.
Ordered.
All my controllers a bit crap apart from a Logitech that works with everything, and I'm fed up of using my keyboard to play some racing games.
It'd be great if they patched in an official split-screen mode for L4D1&2 on PC to go along with this controller.
Serious Sam1 and 3, Guacamelee, and Ibb&Obb are three games I know that have splitscreen/local multiplayer already, so you can definitely try it out with those games
I highly doubt it works as well as they're advertising.
The entire gameplay segments were more snappy in reaction than you'd expect from PC controls.
I'm going to wait till this comes out, I've got my PS3 controller working on my comp so I really don't need this but it'll be interesting.
The guy makes typing look easy but I bet it was very well rehearsed and that guy is very practiced. I can see having a big problem typing as quickly as he does.

I don't see how that is at all related?
and my question to the rest of fp is, if you don't like something a company is doing do you just keep blindly supporting them?
And then i gave you numerous examples, then you moved the goalpost, and i gave you numerous examples of that too.
I don't care why you do or don't give a fuck about valve, i just gave some examples of companies where i and a lot of other people completely disagree with what they are putting their time and effort towards and still be happily use one of their specific products they do give a fuck about.
My biggest problem is that I would like to try it before I buy it at like a booth or something, but I don't think anybody will put up a Steam Machine kiosk next to the Xbones and PS4s. I would like to see if it actually feels right to use before I drop $50 on it. I will probably never get the chance to try it, which means I'll probably never buy it.

Yes old standards that have been phased out for years are so much better.
