Yes old standards that have been phased out for years are so much better.
micro usb is very flimsy and way too thin to honestly be trustworthy on the xbone controller I'm worried about it breaking because of how shit it is, even for the highest quality ones I have (not phone charger micro b's that is) for phones it makes sense since they are so tiny but for controllers I don't like it. Plus old standards aren't necessarily bad standards.
I don't see how that is at all related? And then i gave you numerous examples, then you moved the goalpost, and i gave you numerous examples of that too. I don't care why you do or don't give a fuck about valve, i just gave some examples of companies where i and a lot of other people completely disagree with what they are putting their time and effort towards and still be happily use one of their specific products they do give a fuck about.
pft, and i thought i was being crass
Looks nice, I guess. I only ever game sat down at my computer, and I already have the outstanding 360 controller which works on practically every modern game out of the box, I just don't see the reason to buy this.
Why'd they put a gloss face-plate right where your hands sit, gloss buttons, and matte every where else. That annoys the fuck out of me. Just make it all matte, so I don't have to wipe it down or otherwise become disgusted with myself

360 pad had gloss buttons, but they were nicely made and didn't show much in terms of prints or scratches. Cheap, black plastic buttons will show EVERYTHING
Ordered mine through ebgames, I can't wait to mess around with it
I'm super excited about this since I'm making my PC into more of a HTPC for my living room. One thing though, do you think every game will be playable? I mean, I know you can customize it anyway, but what about games that have a lot of buttons, like ARMA. Will it be customizable enough so that we can hold down a button, and press another button to trigger something. Like holding down on the D pad shows the commands menu and then the other buttons are configured to actually launch a command
I was going to buy the Steam Link and Steam controller bundle but the 100 bucks I had on my card were used by my brother and he won't fucking own up to it. He got a bunch of amazon packages too which was ever so suspicious. Fucking hell I was literally SAVING that money for when this finally came. And spendable money isn't coming for a while since I'm unemployed. Sigh.
Aye [t]http://a.uguu.se/tnkehk_91670.png[/t]
It's 59.99 canadian which makes it cheaper than the US price. :quagmire:
55 euros for such a solid piece of hardware is amazing, a xbox one controller costs more than this in France and you don't get half the features on that one. Can it recharge via USB though ? They mention AA batteries that come bundled with the controller, but considering how thin the back is I guess they must go in the grip sections rather than on the back. It's a bit stupid to use normal batteries and not usb recharge though especially in this day and age. My guess is that you can't or else it'd come with a USB cable by default and the page wouldn't mention AA batteries.
I wouldnt think that many of us have played mobile shooters on touchscreens, but I played a lot of Shadowgun: deadzone when my laptop was unavailable. With a little getting used to, using a trackpad/touchscreen can actually be a very satisfying experience, so I have high hopes for the controller.
And if you want wireless for either of those you're forced to buy a 15$ adaptor, and batteries because of how fast the xbone controller eats them
Ive had my xbone controller since Nov and granted i only use for PC games, i havent changed the batteries once.
it's pretty good but the battery life is meh, and the pro u controller definitely has a better build for the xbox it's absolutely fantastic but for any pc user it's pretty awful. xbone controller doesn't even have a wireless adaptor from what I know so you have to use the crappy micro b port on the back that shimmies and shammies, threatening to turn the controller off, and the xbox 360 controller is not nearly as good as the xbone controller. joy2key isn't even slightly an option because even with fine tuned settings it's very clunky, making it a giant headache to set up, and doesn't even work for most games xbox controller for pc users is a headache
what are you talking about lol. the xbox controllers work way better natively than any sony controller does
i mean what do you do? why is it dumb?
because you are dense, ignorant and misinformed sure, valve has made some stupid mistakes in the past, but they do listen to the community in the end
i dont particularly care for the steam controller, but that steam link thing looks like something i'd get a hell of a lot of use out of
Can't purchase it yet, damn.
To the people who are complaining about having to deal with 2 AA batteries:
I think AA batteries were the way to go. Just buy a pack of 4 rechargeable batteries that come with a charger and always keep 2 charged, its a pretty simple concept and if you somehow manage to forget to charge them you can just plug the controller into your PC/streaming device/wall charger with one of the many Micro USB cables you have laying around while your batteries charge [editline]4th June 2015[/editline] Hell, you can buy a 6ft long Micro USB cable if you refuse to use batteries
CAVED IN
what are you talking about lol. the xbox controllers work way better natively than any sony controller does
of course, you plug the xbone controller and literally 1 second later the thing just works, but you need an adaptor for wireless, same with xbox 360 controllers (you can get a wired 360 controller but screw that noise). You can also get xinput (xbox controller protocalls) based adapters for the prou and ps controllers and it'll pretty much work exactly like any xbox controller. the only thing is, the xbone controller I think possibly doesn't have wireless and having it wired is a pain in the ass, the batteries suck and you can't reconfigure binds unless you use j2k, and that's out of the option if the game automatically detects controllers. xbox 360 controller isn't as good as the xbone controller. I've had very little issues with all of the controllers that I've had, but the fact that they're all basically the same thing and you can't rebind a thing absolutely sucks. Then there is the prou controller, it has far better battery life for sure and it's rechargable, huge bonus, it's still not bindable and the big issue with it is that the triggers aren't really triggers, they're just normal buttons. So you can't control acceleration in driving games or dual bind the trigger like you can with the xbox controller using j2k.
Pre-ordered, hopefully it's worth it.
Gah I want to order it but I'll be moving before it ships and for some reason they want the address at purchase. Fuck it, I'll get one, if I can't change the address I'll just cancel. Edit: For those in a similar situation, yes, there's a way to change your address before it ships.
You can update address info under store transactions.
why can't I buy four at once
I'm glad they dropped the Touchscreen in the middle, it would've made it far too expensive. The final design looks super nice.

mkx will be fun now
Not available for preorder for me, still coming soon. Besides, I need to test this thing first.
mkx will be fun now
Doubt it, the lack of D-Pad kills the controller entirely for fighting games. Even if people say it simulates it, it would most likely still be bad.

I mean, its fucking 2015. Also, the fact that it has AA batteries instead of a custom battery, is good. Because it's easy to fix if the battery life starts acting out.
