That wasn't the case in Mafia 2 at all. Maybe in Mafia 1, but that was just because that was appropriate to the cars of that era. Mafia 2 had pretty arcadey driving.
Mafia II had a challenging and "realistic" handling, and a optional "arcade handling" setting in the options which essentially turned the handling into a easier, watered down version of it.
So yeah, it was the case in Mafia 2.
I didn't realize Hatred was getting a sequel.
In all fairness it looks fun but I don't know if I'm going to like the main character or not yet.
Jesus Christ the racist shitposting I'm seeing everywhere is just insane.
They're complaining that this isn't a Mafia game because it doesn't follow the Italian mob and it seems like you're "fighting the mafia rather than being part of it". Apparently no one has told them that crime families conflict all the time.
The ones who aren't complaining purely because they are racists have a point.
When I hear the word "Mafia" I think of the cosa nostra primarily.
Mafia 2 (only one I played, forgive me padre) to me perfected the feel of the Italian mob.
You joined slowly because you wanted the money and liked the lifestyle, sort of like how Goodfellas started. I was hoping for either a continuation of Vito's story or someone who joins the Mafia and gets in his circles.
Instead I get a gangsta game (of which there area few already) where you set out to kill the only type of organized crime I ever found actually alluring in some immature way.
That doesn't mean I've decided to hate the game, just means I feel a bit disappointed right now.
And that certainly doesn't make me a racist.

"Gangsta" didn't exist in the 60s.
Yeah I'm upset because it wasn't what I was expecting or wanted but it looks to have potential.
I'd much rather be playing Vito. Even at that age he still has a ton of life left.
Funny how they used the 2 tracks that were also used in Wolfenstein.
I'm not saying they're fuckin copying wolfenstein Synelor, I just found it funny that those two songs were used, as they are the first two songs that come to mind when I think of the new order.
That 'nam flashback
aww yeahhh nawlins
-snip- nevermind as long as it is a cutscene...
Holy hell those youtube comments, "why did they replace Vito with a black".
Vito aged horribly, he would roughly be in his mid to late 40s by 1968 yet he looks like hes over 60 in the trailer. :v:

Considering everything that happened to him in Mafia 2 and probably in between Mafia 2 and 3, not that surprising.

Why the dumbs? This is actually true. Mafia II's realistic handling setting made the cars much more like Mafia I to drive, i.e. slippy and sorta dangerous, as tends to be the case when you plonk a rear-drive, V8 2-ton sedan onto 150-section bias ply tyres. Such was the technology at the time.
Anyway, I'm hella hyped for this. I think it was incredibly brave of them to set it in this time and place considering how sensitively certain issues will have to be handled; here's hoping it's as well written as the last two games have been. And the art all looks really pretty.
Does anyone else think the MC looks like a black Alex Shepard from Silent Hill Homecoming? :v:

The jacket and the square face causes it for me.
I hope they add more sandbox aspects into this game. Mafia 1 and 2 didn't really have much of anything aside from the story gameplay-wise.
Is this Rage Engine? Holy shit.

Is it me, or is this game looking straight at GTA V?
What with the mini map/hp system and all.

They could be using the RAGE engine, they're both studios of Take Two afaik, and there's been rumors that Rockstar was 'coaching' them on worldbuilding, so who knows?
I have no problem with elements being taken or inspired by other games at all.
It was just something I noticed.
Oh boy.
Time for me to make a wishlist for the radio station songs.

Fortunate Son is going to be in there.
Vito looks like post-Tommy whacking DeNiro in Goodfellas.
looks dumb
The Czech trailer has only subtitles.
The series is famous in Czech Republic in Slovakia for it's top-notch dubbing. Gets Czechs specifically very proud. Would be a shame if that weren't to happen.
What's the current situation of 2K Czech anyway? Read something about Prague studio shutdown, Brno possibly still stands then I guess. Then again, 2K Czech nowhere to be seen in promos.
Curious. Quite likely it doesn't even exist anymore and the whole game is being developed in San Fran.
I'm still not 100% on Lincoln's voice. He sounds like Danny Glover.
didnt noticed, but the back mirror in the cars shows events rather that the reflection at all the time.

Nifty feature. Burnout Paradise should have opted for that rather than nonstop slowmotion whenever somebody gets taken down.
