Dunno if this got brought up yet, but I follow quite a few anti-gg people on twitter and even a lot of them agree the game looks awful
Dunno if this got brought up yet, but I follow quite a few anti-gg people on twitter and even a lot of them agree the game looks awful
What, are they finally actually looking at it and realizing "Holy crap, it really is bad!" instead of thinking its just hated because a woman made it?
I don't get why the videogame industry has suddenly decided that women are infallible. And I certainly don't get why some women abuse this so much. This is awful.
So much ''UPVOTING BECAUSE BRIANNA WU IS A STRONG WOMAN AND PEOPLE ARE ONLY DOWNVOTING BECAUSE THEY HATE WOMEN'' on twitter
Honestly all this shit and the use of "feminism" for their own gain made me go out of my way specifically to downvote this. Steam doesn't need to become a platform full of this shit. I don't hate women but these kind of people that use " mah feminism" as an excuse to do all kinds of shit, alienate men and for their personal gain can be shot into space for all I care. They are not only scum, they are utterly destroying the face of actual feminism, which is about just equality.

I know this probably comes out of nowhere and is a bit off topic, but do you mind asking me what your opinion on GG is? I'm not asking, expecting you to represent every female gamer, but to be frank you seem like a decent enough person and while I did have some streams to talk about it with fellow fpers, well, most of us were males.
I'd advise you actually do look at what people consider 'good' mobile games and the kinds of praise that mobile games do get, this is nothing out of the ordinary for that market.
Just stop it, its more than obvious its a shit game being shilled by friends, jesus fucking christ dude get a grip, its like you actively try and believe its not so but I have absolutely no idea what you gain from letting garbage and shitty practices slide. I really dont fucking get it, its like you WANT to be nice to fucking cons and cheats and protect them. Why? Its a shit game made by a very mean and nasty person, a game which has been shilled by their friends. Anyone with fucking eyes can see just how bad it is regardless of mobile standards, ive seen WAY better random no name mobile games. I do want to know what you get out of always trying to cheer for this type of trite garbage. [editline]5th February 2015[/editline]
how deluded do you have to be
This is the type of cancerous person you are lauding over Asteroidrules. The fuck you get out of this?
Why? Its a shit game made by a very mean and nasty person, a game which has been shilled by their friends.
This here - doesn't matter. "Made by" doesn't matter and shouldn't be brought up, ever. It has nothing to do with product's quality. Revolution 60 is a piece of shit, it looks awful, general idea behind it is awful. It's shit all around. But who made it - doesn't matter in the slightest. I'm dead serious, stop this. It's awful practice to judge the product upon author's qualities, it's bad no matter who engages in it. It allows people to shit on stuff because "BUT THE AUTHOR'S MISOGYNIST NEO-NAZI!", it allows people to shit on stuff because "BUT THE AUTHOR IS AWFUL HYPOCRITICAL SJW!", and it allows people to praise and push bad stuff because "THE AUTHOR IS A POOR VICTIM OF HARASSMENT!" All three examples, while being different, have the same core issue.
who cares about any of this, sure this game looks straight up from 2001 but if it's shit just don't buy it? even if it passes greenlight, as long as you don't buy it and endorse more games of this atrocious quality who cares like any media there will be utter garbage in the pile, just dismiss it and forget it who cares
I guess people who are concerned about corrupt media praising it like it's the second coming of the Christ and confirming that even the shittiest game on earth can sell like hotcakes if you're a professional victim, effectively superseding far greater games because it fuels game journos' bullshit narrative.
Just stop it...stuff
Holy shit dude he might want to believe it's good but damn you jump at anything to hate it. We have games like this on steam http://store.steampowered.com/app/281260/ Revolution 60 looks much better than that fucking junk. But no one cared much about that game, why are people jumping so hard on this game? Hypocrisy or what? If it gets greenlit, so fucking what? It will have zero effect on your wellbeing. You even go as far as to become hostile towards asteroid dude who did nothing wrong. You are why videogame feminists thrive, because you give them so much attention.

Being a piece of shit is a pretty big reason to NOT give money to someone, this isnt hard to grasp. And Wu is a nasty piece of shit, I never said this caused the game to also be shit, but only the fact Brianna Wu is a fucking really mean person and not worth giving money towards. I think you read my shit wrong or took it the wrong way. I wouldnt fund it even if it WAS a good game because of how shitty Wu is as a person.

While I do agree that special rules for certain products are bad (hence my position on Hatred back then), situation around R60 kinda requires some attention. Plus DG doesn't look like a con... People are jumping hard on it because its coming from an infamous person whos been in the limelight for the past few months, thing is her game is shit. Asteroidude does plenty wrong, its not like this is the only time he tries and defend shitty people and games for no reason, while dumbing and funnying people across the entire thread who ever say anything otherwise, except always fails refuting anything when its brought to him. Games also being shilled by friends with straight up lies about the games quality saying its some incredible game. That deserves some warranted hate, unless you like being jerked around.

Scream loud enough and people will pay attention.
What, now we get mad over some praising circlejerk?
Yeah people are mad at journalists and the dev circlejerking over a shitty game, where have you been in the last 5 months?

It doesn't matter if someone's a bad and awful person, if they created something decent and worthy of being rewarded, they bloody well should be rewarded. That's down to opinion though. There's a difference between you personally not buying something because of your opinion of the author, though, and you judging people for buying something because of your opinion of the author. Second one is a problem.
What, now we get mad over some praising circlejerk?
I don't find influential circlejerks cute, do you?

I always look at work dissociated from the author. If I honestly judged all my book/movie/game purchases off of who made it my list of shit would be extremely tiny. I think Quentin Tarintino seems like a complete wackjob and ass, yet he has made some of my all time favorite movies. I said they are shitty people so I wouldnt buy their games even if they were good, not that them being shitty people means their games are pure shit. Well Rev60 is shit, but I can admit Fez is competent even if I find it mediocre and extremely simple, and I hate Fish way more than Wu.

I said that the "reward" shouldn't really be considered this way, like rewarding a bad person for being a bad person. Exactly the last point here - you don't judge the quality, but you decide whether to buy something because of the author or not. That's your personal opinion, to which you're entitled, of course, but in the initial post that I referred to it appeared as if you were judging someone else with, "what, don't support it, Wu's a bad person". It's exactly the kind of thing that widely gets interpreted as "PEOPLE HATE THE GAME BECAUSE THEY DON'T LIKE WU, AND WU IS A WOMAN, DO THE MATH!"
What, now we get mad over some praising circlejerk?
I think you should do some research into who exactly Brianna Wu is and her "game". Its fucked up. And its a bit bigger than "some circlejerk"
i can only imagine that by the "new gamer" demographic she literally means 5 and 6 year olds who are brand new to gaming

Aint exactly my problem people want to be fucking idiots like that lol. I was attributing both in that post anyways, why support a shitty game on top of being made by clearly a shitty person, its nothing but a shit stew. Its two shits combined to make one big smelly shit. Honestly fail to see the gain here except maybe feeling a bit better about yourself for some reason, honestly have no clue, kinda why I asked them. Also I do judge the quality, stop fucking saying I dont when I have said already I do dissociate the author and the creation, this is like the 3rd time you have done that.

Apparently some sites have reviewed their ethics policy since, which is pretty awesome and diversity in gaming is something I fully support. I do feel that those in GamerGate who are concerned should've made more effort to distance themselves from the harassment side (unless they did in which case I did not see) (although i will say Wu's game does look very underwhelming for everything that's happened...)

Its very odd to explain. But yeah. Game looks like shit.

I hate to say that's true for anyone, but even then, it's such a small population of the GG movement that it's a real shame we're all grouped in with the few trolls that do.

Saying GG should distance themselves from harassment is like saying feminism should distance itself from FEMEN, they do you just don't get too see it much from the outside.
as much as GG has always tried to decry harrasement, it doesn't matter because the overall message that you would hear about us regardless of how loud we cry, is that we want to harrass and hurt women. It's sad, and makes me sympathize with the feminists who have to deal with goofy shit on the internet.

Not to say some obviously dont but its a huge minority. The harassment is coming from people who existed with or without GG, its now just way too easy label everything GG and misogynistic these days. Let me put it this way. Look at all the people that laugh at CWC here on facepunch and know of him, hell plenty of forums and people on the internet know who he is, but they have probably NEVER once been directly involved with him and trolling him. But the people who run the CWC wiki are fucking crazy, or the sociopaths who faked being friends irl to just troll CWC. Its those minority's who none of us even know who are actively harassing someone like Wu, and you want to know why? She has become a lolcow for some people, they dont give a fuck about anything but her reactions. Yet then they go and blame like everyone they can while spouting shit like "sexist" or "Misogynist" all while the real harassers do nothing but laugh. Its hard to fully distance yourself from something like that when its just so insanely easy to just label any group or site as a cause of harassment, when it could be 1 or 2 nameless assholes doing it entirely.
