Some documentary on Bronies, Bronies: The Extremely Unexpected Adult Fans of My Little Pony, come to

herd them into one area
then call in an airstrike.
I don't care what others do or like (within legal bounds.) What I don't like is when people put their own likes on a pedestal and then try convert everyone to it like some Age of Empires monk.
I think the reason the 'bronies have become the new furries' holds truth (from my very limited window) is because most furries have either learned to stop yapping about it, stayed in their own communities, or finally accepted that they were in it just for the porn or some animal people things.
Bronies on the other hand? Almost every time I run into one, they absolutely have to make it clear to the world that they are a brony. Be it avatar, using fucking terrible puns (brony in itself is one, to me) or just generally yapping about the show when no one gives a shit. It's all fine and good if they do it in their own communities, servers, groups, etc. It's not fine when I'm playing something like Chivalry and enjoying gritty, knightly combat when someone hops in with the name "Derpyhooves" and does nothing but use pony puns the whole time. Sometimes, I legitimately can't tell if they're just trolling or are that socially inept. There's also the small part where if you befriend anyone who is, or have a friend go 'brony'; they'll soon be trying to ram-rod the damn show down your throat and get offended when you respond with no for an answer.
I don't hate them exclusively, it's just they're the loudest e-group I know of right now. I can't remember the last time some furry joined a server and started using bad furry puns. Or anyone of any other weird group, for that matter. I guess my biggest annoyance stems from the fact that a simple troll can literally imitate any member of the brony community, because some of the MLP-lovers are literally that fargone; that they can't realize how obnoxious and yammer-y the are about the damn thing.
Also, it's a little girl's show. Why can't they accept that? It's fine to watch things outside it's intended audience, but accept it for what it is. I certainly don't see my many 18-26 year old Adventure Time fans running around using shitty puns, avatars, or trying to make me watch the show.
I think how it tries to make bronies seem like a social revolution is pretty fucking sad.
I can't say its not poorly made, it's obviously well made but god damn.
I counted 3 fedoras in this video.
Did i miss any?
The problem with bronies is that they define themselves as bronies. They just watch a show, but they want to believe they're part of a group or a cultural movement.
Nobody would hate them if they acted normally, like all the people who enjoy watching other shows do.

it's like directly associating yourself at school with half life or sponge bob in a literal sense
it doesn't make any sense. yes they have to call the fans something, but for gods sake, they use it as a title.
Furries are one thing, and trekkies are another, but like with these fandoms, people that use it as a title/to identify their whole being are fucking dumb.
[editline]24th January 2013[/editline]
"Hi I'm J!NX, trekkie"
instead of something actually useful like
"I'm J!NX, I'm 19/NY, into metal related work, internet lover, etc"
At this point, everyone is just saying the same thing over and over but phrased differently.
At this point, everyone is just saying the same thing over and over but phrased differently.
welcome to facepunch
just wait till two people say exactly the same thing to eachother, worded slightly differently [sp]and ARGUE with eachother when they're both meant to AGREE with eachother[/sp]

Every time a brony thread pops up its exactly the same thread until it eventually gets locked.
Its almost as if posting mlp stuff should be bannable.
It's really odd that the users who condemn bronies for their" immaturity" have socially unacceptable interests themselves. Some are anime fans, MtG fans, furries, gamers, etc.
Immaturity is hardly a bad thing, in fact it's the type of trait that makes us human. If we were all serious minded, plauged by stress and rejecting fun, then we would ironically be dull and socially inept people.

having a megathread is bannable because it draws asshats to it like a swarm of locusts to a bug zapper
posting things for any other reason is not banned. if anybody has noticed this past month, a single person has been banned for a while and is under threat of being perma'd if I even see him reading these threads. Others have been given warnings about being complete bags of dicks because it's something that gets you banned no matter what you post about, anywhere in the forum
this has been stupidly successful. Most of the posts are just "I don't care for it either way, but I don't see why some people hate it so much" posts and the thread fades into the background. Gets a lot of viewers still, only reason I catch them is because they hit the popular threads list hard
I watched this whole thing and by the time it was done my screen was full of spaghetti
It's just as big of a circlejerk as you'd think.
It's a documentary BY bronies FOR bronies. And that makes it really, really awful.
The only redeeming quality was John de Lancie.
Gets a lot of viewers still, only reason I catch them is because they hit the popular threads list hard
Which is something I've noticed odd about this thread. It's barely been on popular threads past when it was first posted.

Why is having an avatar from something considered such a big deal? Do you have a problem with J!NX for having a spock avatar? Are you annoyed by my Homestuck avatar?
And honestly, there may have been a point when that whole "shoving it down my throat" thing was true about a loud minority of bronies, but I know a couple in real life and none of them have ever tried to "convert" me. If anything it's a problem with fanbases in general, and it only seems like such a big problem with bronies because they're so public right now.

Avatars are fine, but to be fair
I never see anyone talk about Kirk on Spock erotica or use star trek emoticons like bronies do. But even then, bronies rarely, if not never do it as openly as people say.

That's cause star trek hasn't aired new episodes in years. Trekkies were the first real tv fandom, going to cons and all that stuff before bronies even existed. It's just worn out now.

I don't think those problems are limited to the brony community, though. I'm not saying trekkies talk about Star Trek erotica a lot, but it definitely exists. The only difference is a group of bronies with a sense of irony made a thread simulator once and now all bronies are perverts. Also I'm not sure, but I don't think there's any Star Trek slang that could be used on a daily basis.
you guys should visit tumblr some time
dr who, sherlock holmes and supernatural fans seem to be the ones interjecting stuff into irrelevant posts nowadays
and the shit I've seen on the current transformers prime series is just nightmare fuel
The hell are they describing this as some kind of pride movement?
It's a kids show, genuinely. It's not the wire, or some deep meaningful piece of art, it's a shallow cartoon.
This shit blows my mind.
I find it funny how some people get incredibly angry at some spaghetti spouting weirdo pushing a TV show on them.
It almost stings whenever I see idiots prancing around in a mall singing Winter Wrap-Up or someone advertising Friendship is Magic as being a revolutionary new lifestyle, and you know why?
I watch the show.
And I love the show.
This is disgusting
[sp]But what is "spaghetti", exactly?[/sp]

Joke originating on 4chan. Greentext story about awkward person walking into gamestop and spaghetti falling out of his pockets.
That's it.
So the majority of bronies are awkward nerdy socialtards who have nothing better to do than watch a show for small children?
So it really is the new furry

When you say majority do you really mean the small vocal minority that made the documentary.

this is a joke, right
this is a joke, right
to be fair there are people who have made this show their lives.
but i can't say i get any more or less annoyed at someone who does the same thing with dr. who on my fucking facebook
Make fun of the dinks in the video, but don't throw a tantrum about the sheer existence of bronies, don't defend being a brony by telling people to watch it. Nobody's convincing anybody on either side to do anything different.
honestly if I'm allowed to enjoy my Homestuck bullshit then Bronies should be allowed to enjoy their MLP bullshit
because at the end of the day? it's exactly what i'm calling it. Bullshit yeah I don't get what's so great about MLP but i'm sure a lot of Bronies don't see what's so amazing about Homestuck, it's all just silly shit and I think we should all just chill out just a tad bit. (I should do the same, honestly i've probably become more bitter and jaded every since I got into the Homestuck fandom, the assholes and shitheads in the Homestuck fandom really wanna make me kill myself at times, especially on tumblr ughhh :v: )
but I do agree that when they try to act like it's some cultural revolutionary movement that's when I just kinda think "the fuck is wrong with you dude it's just a tv show"

Now what the fuck is wrong with people who don't think like this?
They'd be fine doing what they do, if they never shoved it down peoples throats.
The exact same happened with furries.
