ATTENTION, this guy is going to be on the Today show in the morning 1/6/10 around 7am.
Just saw a piece of it this morning in the News, he's going to be the voice for Kraft macaroni and cheese commercials
:unsmith:
This is an awesome way to start off 2011, I hope to see more things like this. And the thing about his mom made me tear up a bit, this is too great.
Here's an interview with his mom

She looks pretty healthy for a 90 year old, too. I am speechless as to how fantastic this all is, with in 2 days he's gone from homeless on the street with a wasted talent to being one of the fastest viral videos since double rainbow and a huge job offering from several companies. And a lot of this is thanks to the internet alone.
Here's his Today show interview, just ignore the watermark and quality of the video.

This was the perfect video to test my new headphones on :v:
After the way humanity has been heading, I've been ashamed of my species and my country. All the hatred and distain towards others has truly disappointed me, but after seeing this I can honestly say I'm proud to be an American.
This man and all the people who are helping him are my new heroes. I would like to see more acts of kindness and compassion such as this one arise as a result of this man's triumph.
Better quality:

What the fuck, that's kind of weird for a 12 million view video to just be taken down out of nowhere like that.
I'm awed. If youtube did not exist, he would not have gotten his great second chance. Youtube is a real savior sometimes.
Congratulations facepunch, you helped this video go viral.
2:23 onwards.
Working video

I'm Tavish Degroot, currently banned so I activated this account. I just found out yesterday that my brother, Zach, has known Ted for years, and every winter he brings him coats and such. The army camo coat that he's wearing in both the first video, and the Today Show is the one that Zach brought him a few months ago for this winter. He told my brother when he makes it to the top, he's going to make sure that he gets a job with him. I hope he will.

If what you are saying is true, this Ted guy is an amazing person.

Tell your brother that he's a cool dude.
I'm glad Ted got a job and a house and a life.
But leave him alone now, he got what he wanted, don't make him too famous now.
I wonder what he would sound like singing...
I'm glad that he got a lot of job opportunities, not a lot of homeless people with talent have that many chances

What the actual fuck?

Awww reunites with his mum.
Aaaaaaw :frown:
Sends chills down my spine knowing just how much power the internet has to turn a persons life around in literally a day.
Great personality, but now they try to get him into contracts they can even take the original videos down, what the hell.
Just watched this on BBC breakfest news.
[editline]7th January 2011[/editline]
He got in contact with his mother that he's not seen in 20 years and employers are contacting him. Hearing that brought a manly tear.
:unsmith:
wow the people of the internet turn this mans life around and these money hungry mainstream media fucks take down the original video to thank us
oh well im still happy for the dude
how could they even take it down though? i thought it was just some random guy doing the man a favour and giving him a bit of exposure
