No, it was the right aileron.
Was there really jet fuel in it?
kerosene

It would be way too heavy and uncontrollable if it did work. I mean, there isn't a single servo that can pull that much torque... Hydraulics would be way too heavy...

remember...it would be using the rockets to boost it up past mach 1 for a couple of seconds like nitrous for a car.
you could make an RC replica of the X15 that would be dropped from an RC cargo plane or bomber that would be a hybrid between a supersonic model rocket and an RC plane with a jet engine attached....I would call it an RC supersonic X15 cruise missile.
That was a nice jet
Would've been cooler if little RC fire trucks came and put the fire out.

It would've, too bad that would cost a bit too.
Oh man i'm good at aircraft recognition, that was an RC Dassault Rafale by the looks of the front intake profile. /offtopic
That video could have passed for a real jet for the first few seconds.
Just did some research, something with twin turbines is going to cost a lot. $10,000 just for the turbines, and thousands and thousands of dollars for all of the other stuff. I'm guessing in all that thing was worth $15,000-$25,000.
All you "supersonic RC jet" guys are forgetting one important detail - the radio range of the best RC sets is a few kilometers at best. The plane going at speed of sound would get out of reach of radio (and also out of sight) in mere seconds. You would need a excessive antennae (possibly on tower) and also massive radio on the plane. You would also probably have to rely on camera stream, which would mean even more connection problems.
Wow, they must be expensive :v:
You think if you attach a few big ass L motors onto one of those things you would be able to get it to go supersonic?

You could fit a small child in there. That's awesome.
The thing is, there are so many of these videos on youtube.
Why would you buy one if you dont know how to use it..
The crash was not pilot error, it was structural failure. Look closely at the wings before the crash. You see how they are shaking? That's called flutter. I've lost a plane the same way.

It's not a twin turbine, it's one with two nozzles so it looks like it. Larger models use multiple turbines, but this one is pretty small.
Fuck dude, that must suck.
Damn, too bad it crashed.
You might say it burst out 'in flames'.
Just kidding, I suck at making jokes.
