It doesn't look like any time was spent on this. I'd be okay with seeing a game like this on Steam(WOULDN'T buy it) if it wasn't such piss poor quality. Considering the money they crowdsourced for this, surely they can afford to put more effort into it and not use fetishism as an excuse to release it. It kind of reflects badly on games as a whole to see that much money aided to something that looks like an early 2000's free flash game on Newgrounds.
Why put more effort in it when you can laugh all the way to the bank though..
I must say I don't really understand why tons of people seem to get extremely upset over the fact that someone spent their time and money on something, simply because they personally don't have any interest in said thing. Example: [T]http://i.imgur.com/HNNR64n.png?1?4862[/T] [T]http://i.imgur.com/MemJfIf.png[/T] In what way does it affect the person that something like this exist, and isn't it fairly obvious that it was created because the creators happen to like such things, and also because there's apparently a demand for it? Is it just simple intolerance, or is there something deeper to it? With that said, if something like this somehow ended up on my harddrive, it would result in me cutting the platters into 50 different pieces, and throwing them out the window, but I'm not forced to download it, nor am I forced to watch any media related to it, so I fail to see how it matters.
I don't think you understand. Steam is not the type of place for games like this. Games like this are meant to be passed around lewd sites people find off adds for their creepy fetishes. Steam (or Valve), regardless of green light is professional. Some things are meant to crash and burn from launch. That's the tough nature of business and artistry. There are tons of games and upcoming developers that get rejected by big companies for platforming or sponsorship. Hopefully Steam will put their foot down on this one. But you are right about one thing. There is, for some fucking reason, a demand for this. I can't argue with $30,000. However, I can argue with the people who spent $30,000. It's kind of like how some people like pewdiepie. Slowly, over time he has built a community of rock bottom socially awk animu lovers. And to them, Pewdiepie is the perfect surrogate friend, who will always have their back because he is their "bro". There are 7,000,000,000 people in the world. Out of that 7,000,000,000 are people who differ from geography, government, tastes, personalities and ideas. From that 7,000,000,000 there is also a portion of people who may have struggled with these other people with different ideas and personalities and let's just say have grown accustomed to delving into their own fantasies for what ever reason. Out of that portion of 7,000,000,000 you have the people who browse Deviantart and steam and who may have a lot of money to throw away. From that portion of 7,000,000,000 are the people who have caught the eye of this game. To end my tangent, this game doesn't deserve a green light, not even ironically.
Steam is not the type of place for games like this.
Ah, yes, that's another thing I forgot to include in my first post, I'm fairly certain downright pornographic/erotic/whateveryoucallit content is not, under any circumstance, allowed to be on Steam, so I can't really imagine this ending up there, no matter the amount of supporters. I also think it would be quite interesting to see the statistics over the amount of donators, as well as the average donation amount.
Because games like this, which probably took the guy maybe a month to make, and is so lazily done will probably get greenlight, while countless other good games wont. This shouldn't be on ANY platform for money. I really have no problem with the idea of the game, not my type, but this is horribly done. It also makes a joke of indie game devs. Sorry if this sounds a bit pissy, I am just pissed that things like this could be even sold for money.
Like Gabe said, they want to ditch Greenlight ASAP and just do it differently. Shit like this would be the reason why he wants it gone. :v: Tougher rules what is allowed and what not might also help.
I want to make awkward fetish games now. I'm pretty sure I could make something better then THAT, and horny weirdos would make me rich
Beastality
Dunno if its that popular. And also hard to pull of, since beastiality focuses specificly on acts of sexual intercourse and rape, and I want to make a FETISH game, not a bloody hentai.
Dunno if its that popular. And also hard to pull of, since beastiality focuses specificly on acts of sexual intercourse and rape, and I want to make a FETISH game, not a bloody hentai.
Foot fetish. It's popular. Odd as hell, but popular.
Foot fetish. It's popular. Odd as hell, but popular.
okay, thats a good idea. Since to some people feet can be as stimulating as tits, and I wouldn't need to censor anything since bare feet aren't pornography. Lets think... What good plot could I make...? i need to think about this
okay, thats a good idea. Since to some people feet can be as stimulating as tits, and I wouldn't need to censor anything since bare feet aren't pornography. Lets think... What good plot could I make...? i need to think about this
Apparently you barely need a story.

There's your plot.
Apparently you barely need a story.
i said i want to make a better game than this, and by better I mean litterally better in every aspect also, those people aren't your typical hentai audience, they will only buy it if it at least pretends to be a normal game so story can't be that unimportant
Pandering to awful fetishes is probably the easiest way to scam the shit out of idiots.
Pandering to awful fetishes is probably the easiest way to scam the shit out of idiots.
Daiperfur RPG COMING SOON
Out of morbid curiosity, I played the demo on Desura. It had every TG cliché you can think of in the first fifteen minutes.
"Gender Bender DNA Twister Extreme is a fun and silly game about some guys turning into girls, some girls turning into guys, and some of them transforming into other fun things all in the name of SCIENCE!" "Hilariously stupid and terrible idea, for science/in the name of science!" speaking as a lab technician im crying out of every hole in my face
Trust me, it's worse: At the start, a machine (probably about 5/6" tall) explodes like a nuke, yet all it does is pour out gas and is also in perfect condition later on. (along with the building) None of the scientists wear safety equipment. And when the explosion does occur, rather than evacuate the building, all they do is stand around. Oh, and thy think injecting Y chromosomes will fix everything. I think the only science the devs remember is sex/biology.

Five people paid $2,500 to have themselves added to the game with their own storylines.
Five people paid $2,500 to have themselves added to the game with their own storylines.
They must be extremely rich [editline]26th January 2014[/editline] Or have serious economical problems
not the kind of game I'd want on Steam, but saying that people are "idiots" for funneling money into this is pretty damn stupid I am sure I don't need to explain what value means and how it is a subjective term
I wonder how many of those pledges were meant to be jokes because they thought the game wouldn't get funded...
The best part is how shit the "art" is. It's the kind of thing you see and think "this looks like some garbage a kid on deviantart would make"
Five people paid $2,500 to have themselves added to the game with their own storylines.
I hope we get to see a comparison between the real people and their in-game counterparts. I want to see what the kind of person who'd paid 2.5K to be in this game looks like. I have a feeling they'll take some huge liberties when re-designing them.
