All this because a Youtuber is happy to play the new release of his favorite game series. And to anyone claiming he's playing it up for sponsors, the following is from his website:
Ok, so I don't really do business. I don't like sponsorships or gifts or awards or any of that stuff. Chances are this email will be eaten by my email reading monkey but hey, if you want to try then it's business@nerdcubed.co.uk. Good luck to you.

All this because a Youtuber is happy to play the new release of his favorite game series.
I just don't like being vilified for making a negative comment on something. I agree, this has gotten way out of hand.
he came into the thread to post his opinion, which many others agree with, which sparked this current discussion if you dont want to see nerd get made fun of you can just go to his youtube and read the comments of all the people being super hype about his vids
It's just a dumb close-minded and envious thing to see someone being energetic and go "well they are faking it, no reason to be so happy, harumph!" someone has a different personality to yours and you want some validation because you're envious that someone is having a better time than you are.

You're making that up.
fyi, I didn't say he was faking it. You're making that up.

It feels like I'm watching a kids show with all the loud noises and over the top reactions. Just add in a baby laughing track and it fits.
either way I wasn't even talking to you
either way I wasn't even talking to you
That quote doesn't imply I said he was faking it at all? Over the top reactions doesn't mean he's faking it. You seriously need to chill out man.
nerd and other youtube personalities do this specifically w/ sponsored content in fear of that very situation not a response to rossy btw
I know this isn't a response to me but a 2 things: I don't mind fake enthusiasm, as long as the result is quality. Simply put I find NerdCubed's scripted comedy funny and I don't find PewDiePie's scripted 'comedy' funny. It's a subjective matter. NerdCubed is genuinely happy to be doing this, ages before Just Cause 3 was announced he made it very clear that Just Cause 2 was one of his favorite games of all time. He's faking it to an extent, like how when I'm angry in a game I just naturally make it seem like I'm more angry than I actually am, or in a room full of people I laugh louder, but he genuinely loves the game and it shows.
That quote doesn't imply I said he was faking it at all? Over the top reactions doesn't mean he's faking it. You seriously need to chill out man.
i'll admit that i've been very irritable for a long time now due to personal problems i'll never discuss online, and that I went over the top, and apologize. But my points are still valid if you bar the hostility. Saying someone has an "over the top reaction" basically implies forced enthusiasm.
Saying someone has an "over the top reaction" basically implies forced enthusiasm.
no it doesn't
are you seriously suggesting that anyone who doesn't think he's 100% genuine with his response is just jealous that they can't have as much fun as he can? did you hack my webcam to monitor all my gaming activity and record my face/voice whenever i'm having fun in a game or something?
If you acknowledge that you can have just as fun in a game as he is, then why are you assuming it's faked for promotional purposes? Are you also sponsored with every game you enjoy?
i'll admit that i've been very irritable for a long time now due to personal problems i'll never discuss online, and that I went over the top, and apologize. Regardless if he is faking it or not, it's how he's coming off to me.

He is the same way when he isn't making videos, it's just how he is. Also people who see someone happy and with energy and react with spite really piss me off. [editline]2nd November 2015[/editline]
no it doesn't
epic reply dude
having fun and showing fun to an audience are two different things i was pretty dang happy to play mgs5 on release but aside from a couple of murmurs i wasn't jumping up and down and screaming to an audience that this shit is cray yooooo
I'm going to assume, going by this statement, that you've never played games with friends. Because this kind of enthusiasm Nerd3 is showing is the exact kind of enthusiasm I show when I play locally or online with friends. "but he's playing alone it doesn't count" Yes it does. It's akin to being the one holding the controller while your friends are on the couch watching. You might've read this comparison before.
having fun and showing fun to an audience are two different things i was pretty dang happy to play mgs5 on release but aside from a couple of murmurs i wasn't jumping up and down and screaming to an audience that this shit is cray yooooo
If you had a friend there with you I bet it would be a different story. When time comes for you to express yourself you are going to express yourself, why would you express yourself when you're alone? that would be pretty cray basically what coyoteze said above me
more personal assumptions, nice yeah i've played with friends, it's fun but usually unless its a fighting game or some other competitive mp game, it's not that exciting
If you're not that excited while playing with friends, it doesn't mean people aren't allowed to be more excited than you. This is going back to being envious of someone having a seemingly better time because they are more expressive.
more personal assumptions, nice yeah i've played with friends, it's fun but usually unless its a fighting game or some other competitive mp game, it's not that exciting
This is subjective, and not a valid argument for the discussion at hand. If anything though, you're just proving my point. In fact, this can all be boiled down to exactly that - opinions. You don't find video games this fun. He does. Is that such a difficult concept to grasp?
or maybe instead of envy i just think its really dumb looking and annoying when someone is having multiple orgasms when playing a videogame while recording themselves for views?
How come you're allowed to exaggerate, yet you get pissy when you think someone else is exaggerating? Also, you think he's doing it for the views? yeah you're proving my point that's fantastic gg
I'm back again, one last point. He's the same way with all of his videos, from his weight loss series, to his Lego series, to his sketch comedy with other YouTubers. I genuinely think he's just always this excited, or he's doing a very good job of faking it. I guess, to me, he just seems happy most of the time, and I wonder if we're just not used to seeing happy people in entertainment. I don't know, just a thought I had. I think I'm done here now.

I really like Dan and I watch his videos daily, but I can see how some people may be off put buy the heavily edited play series. Today's video would be a better entry point for a new viewer: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dXv8RfC8sxE
I think he can say some dumbass stuff, but I've never seen an indication he's forcing it, he's just a bit of a spazz which can be fun.
