I'd really love it if the Capital Wasteland and F4NV teams collaborated to at least share some of the same systems like dialogue trees and the karma and levelling systems. Those could be a real hurdle in the event that a Tale of Two Wastelands gets put on the table when both mods get released.
I always felt like beth should've just had a list of enemies that were excluded from combat music. It feels odd to fight a pack of ferals in a dank subway and have action music kick in. Also holy shit it's probably because it's been so long but half of those combat songs for Fallout 3 inon zur made sound like they were just leftovers from Crysis - they use the same instrument samples and everything. Compare 8:58 to something like 1:08 Or this one at 0:37 with the horns especially
I used to think the same thing years ago when I was playing both games at around the same time.
I know this might be slightly off-topic, and I am probably going to get hate for this, but I have always really disliked the music in Fallout 3 and 4. It just feels so... empty. I want creepy soundtracks and stuff. I absolutely adore Jeremy Soule's music for the TES series, not that I think that sort of music would be at all appropriate. I am just saying that it's a shame there's such a difference in atmospheric music. I love the radio stuff though, of course. I wish 4 had actually had more new '50s music for the radio though.

There are plenty of new-age Fallout fans like myself that wish they didn't ditch the heavy, oppressive, industrial sounds of a wasteland that was truly out to get you. That's fantastic. I'm sure I can find a mod to import the original soundtrack into FO4, so I may look into that. I can hear the Wasteland with that track you posted, and that's so important. Thanks for the heads-up. :)
Looks cool, only problem I have with it is that the R91 assault rifle sound is pretty bad. Hope it's just a placeholder or something.
I love it, but it does sound more fitting for maybe a machine gun. If they keep it, they just need to polish it up, the sound when it stops shooting just suddenly cuts off. It's clearly not finished either way.
For most things maybe, but I feel like the feral ghouls in 3/NV looked more like the ghoul talking heads in 1/2 than 3's patchwork NPCS or 4's burn/desiccation victims. While on the subject, it's also always bothered me that NPC ghouls and monster feral ghouls use different models/animations. If you couldn't tell the difference until you tried to talk to them, I think that'd make them much scarier, and the other NPCs hatred of all ghouls more understandable.
I always figured it'd be cool if there was more of a middle-ground, so you could have some ghoul NPC's named "Feral Ghoul" who hang out with the other ferals and attack with guns or weapons, they're gone but not so far that they've degenerated into beasts like their comrades. Then something in the middle where you can sorta tell they aren't all there, but while they don't skitter around like rabid animals yet, they're clearly not acting human anymore. More of a slope of maddness rather than the night-and-day we currently have.

It and Diablo 1 have phenomenal soundtracks that suck you right in and make you feel like you are fucked
I remember being really immersed in Fallout 3 when going into DC'S remains. It was just constant chaos with always the sound of distant gunfire in the distance because the BOS and Super Mutants were having some giant ass clash.
Seeing this and honestly I'm not even interested. I actually think FO3 and NV look better as they are, there's something about the FO4 graphics in this world that makes it look far less appealing.
i think the video must have some really bizarre color correction to it that makes it look shittier than it is. the contrast seems very washed out and the whites are all tuned down into grey, the bloom is also grey and is shaped kind of weirdly for certain lights, and even the neon Nuka-Cola machines are desaturated to fuck.

On one hand it was awesome to hear this in NV, it's only a shame they played it in the outskirts of NV instead of the BoS bunker.
