I am very excited for this, but I am worried it will be the Skyrim of Fallout.
Don't expect anything else.
The only thing I'm worried about with the prospect of a voiced PC is restricted gender options. While I doubt it, hiring a big name guy like troy baker to voice your PC might make them focus on the male voice and the female voice may be shitty or they may just cut female PC as an option entirely. I doubt that will happen, but it has me worried.
I am very excited for this, but I am worried it will be the Skyrim of Fallout.
the correct term is "skyrim with guns"
Frankly i'm not bothered if they haven't gone all out on graphics, its clearly and upgrade on FO3 and New vegas with some much needed colour palette alterations and whats hopefully more content, people whinging about graphics based on one trailer need to get a grip.
Meh, after Witcher 3, they are going to have to a damn good job with the story and sidequests to beat that. Not that much hype.
[editline]a[/editline]
Damn guys, it just doesn't look exciting. That's all.
Well I don't have much fate left but at least they're trying. The laser rifle and the components behind the armor probably mean more in-depth customisation.
It felt like a mess of a trailer to me. Some of it looks as if it was made in SFM. Bethesda can do better than that... I hope.
Fallout 4 looks more aesthetically pleasing with vibrant colors and it looks a little more cell shaded. Which is a good thing.
the correct term is "skyrim with guns"
That is Farcry 3
Where the fuck is this guys Bahston accent? Why do I get the feeling he'll never use the word "wicked" as an adjective when describing how smart he is?

Because a post-apoc FPS and a 3rd person hack-n-slash are comparable?
First of all, why would they change from an engine they've been working on for years and years?
I'm not surprised you're defending this since the company you work for is using an engine from 2001~.
That house does NOT look like it got hit by a nuke, though.
Who's to say they didn't have voice acting for every single dialogue option you can choose?
I am very excited for this, but I am worried it will be the Skyrim of Fallout.
Well then hope it is. Im sure ill be flamed for this but Skyrim is what really got me into RPGs. RPGs were never my thing until Skyrim came out. Sure i played the crap out of the Fable series but nothing much else.
Isn't the fallout lore constructed so that in-universe nukes are relatively weak but produce a fuckton of radioactive waste? In the sense that there was never no science really put into making them release less fallout and become stronger?
house could be in a suburb and the nuke hitting the city

So basically the two least RPG RPGs there are got you into RPGs?
I'm not holding my breath, seeing how they've tarnished the Fallout franchise. Looks like another lackluster Fallout 3 to me, tbh.
Good to hear Ron Perlman again. I'm not too hyped for the game though, it looks good yes, but I never managed to get into Fallout 3 or NV. Probably not going to manage playing through Fallout 4 either.
well fuck
this trailer was so meh
Here's hoping the game will be 100x better!
Mods will fix that
The game shouldn't need the help of mods to be not broken, the game should be not broken on its own
If there's no co-op I'm not buying it
If there's no co-op I'm not buying it
if you're expecting co-op from a bethesda game then you're wildly mad
list 1 single bethesda open world game with online at all
and TESonline was zenimax
if you're expecting co-op from a bethesda game then you're wildly mad
Maybe they need to actually make decent games with good story then and stop using the shitty Gamebryo engine.
Then again I never really liked the series so I'll be quiet
Oh my god
COLOR
IT HAS COLOR
BY GOD, IT HAS COLOR
Maybe they need to actually make decent games with good story then and stop using the shitty Gamebryo engine.
what does this have to do with the game having co-op?
If there's no co-op I'm not buying it
Seriously? Coop? Why?
That's the single most overused feature ever nowadays, why put coop in this?
Even a zombie mode would be better, and those are fucking boring.

It's 2015, almost every AAA title has some form of multiplayer

how is playing with friends overused?
It's 2015, almost every AAA title has some form of multiplayer
the idea that titles need multiplayer is kinda asinine, most AAA title's I've seen with multiplayer added on has terrible multiplayer because of this stupid "BUT EVERYONE ELSE DOES IT" attitude devs have. As if announcing multiplayer is going to create mass hype.
look at how great wolfenstein is
the "but its 2015" mentality is silly too, what does that have to with anything
First of all, why would they change from an engine they've been working on for years and years?
Secondly, we have seen absolutely zero gameplay so far. Stop making assumptions based on by-now 4 year old technology (5 years if we don't count Skyrim).
Thirdly, graphics aren't an issue as long as the gameplay is good. If you're so desperate for good graphics in a Bethesda game, get an ENB. There's plenty of presets to choose from that look stunning. Also are you blind? Because I see plenty of graphical upgrades in this compared to Skyrim/NV. Not next-gen level, but like I said, it doesn't matter. Who honestly cares?
Fourthly, are you completely oblivious to the BoS role in the Fallout lore overall?
Fifthly, just like with my second point, we have seen no gameplay. You don't know what the in-game animations will be like, and this trailer had nothing inherently bad to it in the animation department besides some lack of splining on the dog. Everything else was alright.
So can you stop whining now? Good.
Dude, if there are games that should had changed engines a long time ago, its Fallout and TES.
The fact that playing the first made me depressed with all the lack of colors is enough of a reason to do so.
how is playing with friends overused?
Maybe because every game has coop when it didn't really need coop?
It's 2015, almost every AAA title has some form of multiplayer
tacked on multiplayer sucks
and adding coop just because "YOU CAN LET YOUR FRIENDS IN ASWELL" breaks immersion completely most of the times.
