My bro knows a shit ton about dieting (sounds dumb for obvious reasons but he actually knows his shit). He did some calcs and determined that his claimed method of dieting was probably physically impossible. Thus he probably used some kind of illegal medicine to help him out. And there are tons of other (still illegal or recalled or never marketed) pharmaceuticals that can help with weight loss before DNP. He might have cancer for all we know.

I am not going to ask my bro "hey redo some calcs so you can win an internet argument for me". I added DNP because some people will read a post talking about illegal but highly effective diet pills and think I am some kind of quack. Anyway he could be telling the truth about what made him lose weight or he could be lying. All I know is that I don't trust celebrities that release books saying I lost X weight using Y silly diet you have never heard of. Especially not if one of his diet gurus thinks that the rising obesity crisis is being caused by the rise in popularity of electric blankets. Which while plausible sounding doesn't seem to be the likeliest nor the most relevant cause of obesity. Maybe I'm not american enough but I doubt impoverished obese poor collectively have heat blankets. Alternatively he just woopsied his numbers while talking to the press.
