This is making for great entertainment, but a better way of going about getting them all to play WOW would be to let them do whatever the hell they want. Though, maybe that is Ross's intention, but they at least need to get through the tutorial stage first. :v:
HA! Arin is going to be there.
Lol i love how everyone's a Speedrunner and there's even a NES Completionist but Arin is just GAME GRUMPS.
HA! Arin is going to be there.
yoooooooo fuckin COSMO is playing? Excellent.
Man, Guild Grumps is quality and I love it. Watching the breakdown of Ross in the first episode as he tries to organise this trip of total idiots is a joy to watch no surprises that barry won the bandana, he's by far the quickest learner
HA! Arin is going to be there.
For a person who plays a lot of video games, Arin is really bad at video games. To the point it's started to come across he doesn't really like them that much? He's going to lose beautifully.
What? Where do I go? I gotta use the map? I can't just go straight to my objectives? I have to do stuff in a dumb order? This game is dumb, it's nothing like the good games of the SNES, like Link to the Past. Man Link to the Past was so great, instead of this horseshit, you just looked at your map! Over-Dramatized but this is how his criticisms feel to a wow-fanboy.

He obviously has the capacity to be very good at video games and enjoys them greatly - look at bloodborne
Arin is not actually so bad at video games. He just tries to be entertaining in front of a camera while playing. That takes real skill.
Yeah but nobody wants to hear that, everyone just thinks "it's talking and gaming at the same time, how hard could it be?"
Yeah but nobody wants to hear that, everyone just thinks "it's talking and gaming at the same time, how hard could it be?"
Pretty tough if you ever tried. I do play a little better when I'm alone but it's a lot less fun. When I'm with friends, I goof and talk a lot but my skills just hit the shitter and that's where the funnier moments come out. That kind of comment or the ones that forget players have to learn the game before getting good and they were bad at some point too, are comments that always irritate me.
Arin is not actually so bad at video games. He just tries to be entertaining in front of a camera while playing. That takes real skill.
That's a pretty plain excuse. Is it so hard to accept that, yeah he might be bad at some video games. Arin's good at games that fall back on muscle memory (Bloodborne, Castlevania, early platformers), games revolving at patience and story, anything that interrupts the flow of actual gameplay, he just gets frustrated with and ends up blowing it because he ceases the desire to learn the game. I guarantee he isn't hamming it up at all in the WoW playthrough. He gets really frustrated with cut-scenes and waiting in general, he's got a whole Sequelitis video dedicated to it. Unless that's just his "character" even though they stated multiple times they aren't acting it up on the show.
Arin's really only right when it comes to obvious examples - like when there are cutscenes or tutorials that are completely anavoidable in any regard, then sure. But unfortunately I guess he despises it to the point that the moment ANYTHING gets in the way of the game or tries to even hold your hand a little bit he like, almost shuts down. I can understand that though. For me if a game isn't just totally gripping from the get-go then I probably won't ever play it. It just gets frustrating with Arin because he ends up coming off as an old fogie who hates all the dern new vidya games. Whuzzat?? HALO 5? Ah jeez, they're all the same! Shoot here, walk there, I don't care. Like he hates Sonic games because apparently "nothing happens" or something ridiculous like that. Still though, I gotta love him. This is kinda why I loved Jon more as a counter-grump though, he directly counterweighted Arin's exact personality, which is something that got parodied a lot. Dan's still great though as he just chills the fuck out and tried to enjoy what's put in front of him

I dislike Sonic for the same reasons he does (going fast but having to constantly slow down, overly large levels with non linearity that feels pointless, etc). The only Sonic game I really liked was Generations and there was a point in the Banjo Kazooie playthrough where he admitted he enjoyed playing that game. I think if Arin went through Sonic Generations trying to get all of the red rings and S rank (or at least A rank) each level he would really enjoy it.
"That's the solution is leveling! OK so it's not a game it's a you get more numbers and run in and numbers him, and then thats it you win so.. it's skills. it takes skills. that's the skills of the game." -Arin lol I can feel the nerd rage from here.
Anyone have that video of all of Arin's cringeworthy fuck-ups in their Wind Waker HD playthrough? I can't find it anywhere and I can't remember the title.

A lot of people just can't do MMOs. Hell, even as a fan of them and someone that plays WoW it's hard for me sometimes.
[sp2]No one mentioning Jesse's appearance? I thought it was pretty cool.[/sp2]

-snip- Missed that there was a new page. Have one of my favorite Game Grumps animated in exchange:
Alright that was really dumb I'm sorry. Here's a clip from the show that you might enjoy much more than me getting stupidly mad about other peoples' opinions: Friends?

That was just marketing bullshit so Sega could promote it's "Blast Processing". You can go fast if you want but you don't have to.
those wow episodes are so awkward and unfunny
