I have been listening to Skyhill and boy Dan is just as good with serious music as he is goofy music.
It's both cool and kind of sad because it makes you realize that he can do lots better than what NSP and Starbomb are, but as long as he's enjoying what he's doing I guess it's all cool! I't also kind of interesting to hear how he (at least in my opinion) relly doesn't have a very good or appealing singing voice, but the stuff he can do with it, his singing technique and harmonizing and all that is so on point he must have put a lot of time and work into it.
It seems to me like he's capped out on what he can do with that kind of voice in the garage band kind of setting that all his music now seems to be in, and if he wants to improve from here the way to go would be working on sound design and mixing and getting a new sound engineer or something. I mean honestly, the mixing and mastering on both NSP and Starbomb is mostly awful.

I don't want to speak so soon, but Arin may not know you can shoot starbits with the B button, or that Player 2 can hold enemies in place with A. I'm surprised Arin knows A jumps and the control stick moves.

It'll very much be a "Press X to change copy moves" situation, I feel- Danny accidentally hitting B as he points at the screen shooting a starbit out, or coincidentally hitting an enemy when he's pressing A. Still, they've barely hit the tutorial, so they have time.

I think it'd be pretty interesting to hear Danny push himself a little to add a bit of grit in his voice imo. While I love his work so far, it feels a bit...controlled? Like he's set himself in a pretty small boundary.
Whats crazy about Skyhill is that you can actually understand Dans voice and its not cluttered with awful mixing.

I agree that the mixing is awful, they don't do it themselves but whoever they get to do it for them needs to be sat down and had words with. The quality of all of their music would shoot up magnitudes if they could just mix it properly.

I love this because he used the commentary audio for this instead of the episode audio, so it sounds so much cleaner. It also gives out a homestar runner feel to it, which appeals to my nostalgia.

Spoke too soon, but Arin did say not to shoot star bits which drastically reduces poor Dan's ability to interact with the game.

Really? Because honestly just freezing them in place is enough. They need those starbits for the hungry lumas in the overworld, and honestly I always saved mine for them myself. I can't blame Arin on that.
