The game was made almost 20 years ago, the "this game has flaws you guys look at them it's not as good as you thought it was when you were a kid woooah!" rigamarole has been played out for almost that long.

I think his lightening up would kinda kill what they're going for. I mean, they've always exaggerated their own personalities when the camera is on, that's their schtick, I mean it is called Game Grumps. I think it goes without saying a lot of the stuff they say during the show is meant for the show to be more entertaining, not really to voice their more grounded opinions. They are in it for comedy first, competence second. I don't feel as though many people watch the show in order to see razor sharp game play and educated and serious critiques on games and the like.

Actually, kinda unrelated, but I agree. But then again, my opinion should be taken with a grain of salt since I generally don't like Let's Plays, personally. I just watch the occasional episode if it's a game I'm interested in or some kind of infamous game.
I will say one thing though, I've watched every Art Academy episode; for some reason or another I find it super entertaining.

I love that story, it's super relatable! I almost expected it to be during the Reddit section, but nope. Also, not to bring up the sonic hate, but I find it weird that Adventure does all these gimmick levels and gets made fun of for it, whereas in Galaxy they're hardly mentioned. I guess it differs on the presentation, but it's an interesting point I heard made.

Arin's mentioned it plenty of times, but it's not nearly the same thing. There's no part of Super Mario Galaxy where it suddenly turns into a completely different game. The only thing that changes is the player's state and how they're controlled, not the theme, not the general rules of playing.
