People complaining about how bad the player is in gameplay videos is very common all over the Internet. The people watching the videos are probably complaining because they feel they are much better at the game, and having to watch the same sequence/level all the time because the player is seen as "bad" will start to become time-consuming and annoying.
Normally i'd agree with you at face value but people tend to be especially cruel towards the Grumps as a whole and especially Arin.
Normally i'd agree with you at face value but people tend to be especially cruel towards the Grumps as a whole and especially Arin.
See there's a difference between simply saying "Ugh, Arin sucks.", and "I hope his soul festers from all the negative comments I sent to him, and that he never does internet stuff again".
Good luck finding the toy for a reasonable price, though. But it seems Amiibo stock is slowly improving, so hopefully it shouldn't be too bad.
See, I never got why nobody preorders their Amiibos. I know I wanted Little Mac and Dedede. The second they went on sale, I preordered them and had 'em shipped to me a few months later.
You forgot that Big the Cat is a left hook outta nowhere for anyone that plays Sonic Adventure. You also do remember that Arin is a human right? He's not a troll bot with the goal of buttfrustrating you because he isn't a speedrunner with accuracy like a scalpel. Posts and comments like this really worry me about how negative folks can be about an internet personality.
I think you've misread my post? Or maybe my point wasn't clear as everybody seems to be hitting it with the dumbs. I'm not attacking Arin at all. I'm pointing out he's up to this point been shit at the game (which I'm sure he'd admit he is), he's about to play a bit of the game which is broken anyway and as a result the youtube comments are going to be vile because of it. Because they were literally horrific during the whole of Knuckles. I personally find his failings at the game as part of the entertainment. Anybody who watches Grumps for quality gaming is clearly daft.
and took ages to realise how Knuckles Emerald radar worked (I'm not even sure he ever did really).
Am I the only person who thought he was following the radar fairly well ever since he got it? I never got why it became this big thing that he was ignoring the radar, when it looked pretty clear that he was trying to follow it to me.

[sp]it's pretty bad, I must have had shit taste in games[/sp]

remember when it took Arin and Ross less time to beat Doing Things the Hard Way than it took for Arin to catch Froggy in Sonic Adventure
In todays episodes, my feelings were fucking shattered.

Is there actually a way to set the hook, or is it just as random as the episode implies.
Is there actually a way to set the hook, or is it just as random as the episode implies.
I've played big, it's literally random, sometimes they latch on, sometimes they don't. Really the Big the Cat levels are nortorious for having broken fishing mechanics, it really just feels like Sega wanted us to, since we were playing on their Dreamcast, to play a "demo" of Sega Bass Fishing Pro as well.
Actually I'm pretty sure there's a way to set the hook
Is there actually a way to set the hook, or is it just as random as the episode implies.
yeah, there is. Seeing as I just finished playing it, you can jerk the lure left and right while it's in the water. If froggy bites it or whatever, you can jerk it into him, and it'll cause it to hit. then you just reel him in, nice and easy.
Is there actually a way to set the hook, or is it just as random as the episode implies.
From the looks of it it failed every time he moved the hook slightly after the frog grabbed it, and the one time it worked was when he didn't move the reel.
The fact I got conflicting answers speaks to the ambiguity of the mechanics. It would be unreasonable to fault Arin. Just in case.

big the cat is actually incredibly easy it's just that people didn't read the manual (me included when i first play SA) and they fuck up once you see that you wonder why you even struggled in the first place, it's pathetically easy [editline]2nd September 2015[/editline] arin doesn't like instructions because he likes sucking at games so it's not like he would see that regardless. that's why it's funny seeing him struggle

Arin should be a pro at this then, he LOVES OoT!

Most games only come with a slip of paper, come used (thus with no manual), or have a digital one that just goes over what the game already tells you. I agree though, even if Arin did have a manual (which I'm sure as hell he doesn't), he'd still ignore it.
I remember really struggling to fuck with Big. Then after I checked the manual I breezed through. Also the "help" or "about" section when you choose him has lots of details. Big just requires some pre-reading and then it's super pissy easy. Otherwise it's a living nightmare. It's a massive fault of game design no doubt.

My copy was used and didnt come with a manual...
Random Holly video because she's adorable and is now a guest Gumpette.
The kings quest playthrough is so far my favourite steam train series ever. I dunno if it's because they're so chilled out or because they're actually listening to the story and doing what the game tells them to. Makes a nice change from Arin.
