I would consider myself a gamegrumps fan - I've been watching since the Jon era and have watched pretty much all series and one-offs to this point.. but, I'm really starting to get annoyed by the main grumps now, Arin particularly - the show has just devolved into impersonations, fart jokes and stoner philosophy. Dan seems to hate games and playing games so why is he even there?

You're talking weird stuff mate. He and Arin are clearly good friends, as well as getting along well with the other grumps (aside from Ross but it's not a hateful relationship, just Ross being an annoying dork sometimes.)

Yeah, I don't mean that - I think Dan is a great person and hilarious at times, I just think SMG and sonic adventure are dragging on a bit and it's showing in the quality of the episodes. Dan just seems to be focused on getting 10 minutes and leaving. Maybe things will get a bit better when these playthroughs are done, it's not gonna be much longer with sonic adventure.
Dan has said on multiple times thought that he enjoyed the Sonic series, if only because of the ridiculous cutscenes, the moments where the game was truely fun, and Arin's meltdown over Froggy.

You know they dont just record 10 minutes then leave right? They record like massive sessions at a time and dont go anywhere at the end of a 10 minute episode

I forgot about that as well, they do big sessions, then cut the episodes. They don't do about 30 minutes of game footage for the three videos a day, and then do it again tommorow.
The Grumps are busy fucking people :v: They need to do the big sessions so they can have time to travel, perform, go to Cons, etc.

I like Dan and I'm glad he's on GG, but I agree with you there, he cut off his story in the Sonic episode today because it was 20 seconds over 10 minutes. It's also pretty weird how he never plays any games considering the show he's on. Arin plays like 95% of the stuff alone on GG.

They said 70 minutes a week per game, that's just over two hours of gameplay a week not counting in between episodes. Not sure how much time everything else related to GG takes, but I wouldn't say GG makes them busy people. Dealing with the community is probably the hardest thing for them

Stopping the timer is always left on Dan because Arin sucks at paying attention to the timer. Jon always had to do it, now Dan always does it. Even then it's not about leaving, it's because they have a 10 minute episode format for the sake of sanity and organization, they don't even leave the room between most episodes. I think you would realize that at least if you've watched all the gamegrumps like you've said.
Dan just likes to play retro old games. Its clear that he loves old school games and Morrorwind.

He also doesn't like playing bad to the lovelies, which is why he lets Arin Two-Left-Handson take the reins.
It's come up quite a few times that Dan practices a lot of the games he plays for the show. If his schedule's been hectic as usual, then he probably hasn't had a chance to do so.
I'm hoping, though, that he's found time over the last few months to practice Link Between Worlds, and I would love to see a Steam Train of Morrowind.
I wouldn't mind seeing a Co-Op run of Saints Row 3 between Dan and Ross just to see what inevitably silly shit happens.
