Bear in mind the First Order is essentially formed by and composed of hardcore Imperial remnants and fanatics. That their faction's technology would be designed to heavily emulate that of the Empire is fairly understandable.

you could argue that it looks like an energy weapon and energy guns shouldn't have recoil, but Star Wars ones have been shown to have some, and then Star Wars guns that looked like energy guns have turned out to be something that fires solid ammo, and we don't know what the AT-M6 fires, so eeeeh?
I know in the EU Blasters fired plasma not actual lasers.
Not sure if that idea carried over to the canon.
according to the canon side of the Wookieepedia article, they're still plasma guns

Puppetry has come a long way, in Stranger Things [sp]the Demogorgon was a suit and head piece. All practical effects, no CGI.[/sp]

It's the Executor of the sequel trilogy. It won't be destroyed in this movie, but it'll crash into an under construction Starkiller Base II in Episode 9 while Poe Dameron and friends fly inside the new Starkiller base because its weak points are now buried deep inside it after the first one was destroyed by blowing up some couplings on the surface. At the same time, Rey will fight Kylo Ren in the Starkiller Base II throne room with Snoke watching. She defeats Ren by succumbing a bit to the dark side but then she stops and lets him live. Snoke doesn't like this though he starts lightninging her but then Kylo Ren gets up and to redeem himself of all his wrongdoings he throws Snoke down a huge shaft where he then explodes into white lightning smoke.
It'll be like poetry.

I would had preferred if she had more different cosmetics, I mean its alright, but boba fett really stood out from the rest of the stormtroopers. Well I know boba fett wasn't a stormtrooper, but his outfit was alot more special and memorable.
And frankly, the AT-AT gorilla was somewhat uninspiring, I wished they could had come up with more unique looking walkers

It's the same knuckle walking, long forelimbed design we've been seeing since Cloverfield. Yes, the AT-AT isn't a kaiju, but it seems uninspired. It just looks like "woah bigger!" rather than something new

Canto Bight is also supposedly where we meet Del Toro's character, who's role in the story the LSG and Johnson have been very vague on. Presumably in an attempt to avoid spoiling too much before the film's release.
