It's got that 80's/Adult Swim vibe. Which I normally don't like but for some reason I really like this.

Yeah, he should really title it something else less official-sounding. As it is, it's just begging to get C&D'd.
I think what they could do is rename it into something that could relate to Star Fox, but it's vague enough to sound like Star Fox. Like what third-party toy companies do to not get sued by Hasbro.
They should go the Batman: TAS route: Make the images semi-child friendly but make the mystery and motivations dark and able to be learned afterwards like an Aesop.
Let's hope Nintendo is cool about it.
they never are.
The strange animation style reminds me of some kind of twisted Ralph Bakshi
Gotta say, even if you're not a fan of the style of animation, he's doing some cool remixes for the soundtrack.
I get what they mean when saying they want this stay "true" to the franchise but having the character's curse, on top of it seeming a really dark and adult tone, doesn't really scream "true to the franchise" for me.
Not to mention its like I'm watching Sealab 2020 with voice overs recorded on a vocoder.
It also kinda bothers me that they made Fox sorta... childish in his personality.
Hell even the art doesn't stay true. Starfox is bright and colorful. This is all dull and darkened with stupid filters.
Maybe it's just me, but ever since Assualt I've felt that Star Fox could pull off a more serious setting. Like others have said, I really like the 80's esque animation and I really feel this could be something really interesting.
Or at least it would be had they not created a Patreon. If Nintendo C&Ds other completely free projects, it won't be long before a monetized one gets taken down even if it puts it all towards content creation.
I dunno, I'm fine with the voice filtering, and I really liked the "Robotic Legs" one. The humor didn't need to be super thought out but it wasn't just flat out crude either.
the voice filtering makes sense in a "cheap recording in the 80's" kinda way, which I assume was also the intent with the video filtering. A little overdone but pretty nice flavor for a pet project
hoping nintendo doesn't shoot him down, it's a little rough but has great potential
The animation is really neat, and that sounds is pretty cool, but why is this starfox? I know it's been said already but I can't imagine how the creator thinks this is "true to starfox", and even if the tone wasn't so far off it's in another galaxy there's no way Nintendo will let it fly
This looks fucking great. It's like something that would have a cult following and 8 good seasons on Adult Swim.
the robotic legs skit was really funny imo, and i love the old school cartoon vibe

Its definitely great in a Sealab/Adult Swim sort of way, but it is one of those things that Nintendo is going to put a C&D on real fucking quick.
The concept itself isn't bad so it would be salvageable as something else which would mean redoing the entire cast so they wouldn't infringe on any trademarks unfortunately.
I think its great, animation wise and I giggle everytime I think of the robotic legs bit, so thats all awesome. The video filtering and vhs effects (or whatever those are) applied work really well with the rest of the stylistic choices too.
I just think the vocal filtering is a tad overdone. Its more apparent at some points than others, but those soundtrack snippets show this isn't made by someone who's oblivious in audio.
given it's a Nintendo franchise I know they wouldn't support the artist's direction. Best outcome when they get wind of this, is he rides the fame of his little shorts here and makes his own vaguely similar thing
Oh look, he changed it to St*r Fox: The Animated Series (noncommercial parody fan project). I wonder if that'll be enough to satisfy Nintendo. :v:
Oh man, this is so weirdly great? Like the pacing and style of it is very out there and like, idk. Ambient? Things are just happening but it's interesting. So Adult Swim. I'm super interested.
I'm surprised the intro wasn't posted yet.

Heard about this a couple months ago, looks really nice.
Btw I sent a e-mail to Fredryk asking about the whole Nintendo putting a stop to he's project and about the Pantreon as well. No responses, but I post it as soon as I get back from him.
Wait. holy SHIT
Fredryk Phox? as in Ether Bowling Fredryk? as in this amazing video?

I cannot believe this is the same dude
One thing I wanted to say, I'm not a fan of Andrew's voice. It sounds like a bad Morty from Ricky & Morty.

They seriously got shut down because they were too good at the game? Hope they got their money back.

oh my god what
I know this thread is pretty much dead by this point but I got a response from Fredryk:
" I don't know if Nintendo is aware. If anything happens regarding a shutdown or a cease and desist, I'll just rename/recolor the show and misspell the character names. "
Welp :pudge:
Oh neat
The guy who makes this is good friends with one of my friends and rooms with him. I've seen Fredryk work on it while I was over a few times.
Pretty cool dude. Very much to himself, mind you.
I remember my friend showing me messages he got from one creepy dude from france who tracked my friend down, saying he bought plane tickets to the US because he wanted to live with/room/be around Fredryk. Apparently this guy knew my friend was Fredryk's friend and wanted to know what their address was lmao

If this ends up being the case, I really hope he names the series "Space Animals"
